    Morning all,

Has anyone recently had worktops produced and installed by Diapol or Mayfair recently? What were your experiences?

Both are providing very similar quotes for a white quartz worktop, starlight or the like. The only real difference being their payment plans. Diapol take the majority/all at the end. Mayfair a little up front, a little after templating and majority at the end.

Diapol quote 2-3weeks from install to fitting and Mayfair 5-7 days. We have two little children so Mayfair is just edging it for me currently because of this.

Look forward to hearing any feedback. Thanks :)

I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Thanks Cyclone. Had noted as I've read this whole thread but I think your installation was in 2011. Glad to hear it was so good, hoping to hear from some recent installs to ensure it's still up to scratch!! Was your friends do e recently?

About 1 1/2 years ago, I did the house watch when they both templated and fitted.
The same guy seems to do all templating, daughter had 1 team, I got a different 1, both as good, matey got the same guys as me.

I can say without hesitation that (I didn't realise it was that far back) there is not a single visible stain anywhere and it has not been re-sealed yet. I have tried to stain it and you can't, red wine to tea, it doesn't effect it. Doesn't water mark either, we leave plates draining all day with no ill effects, juess I bought this as fit and forget and it's working.

Have to add my colour is very mixed, it would be difficult to spot a stain anyway.
We did chip a small piece out of an edge when a bean can fell from a top unit, that's been (no pun) fixed with clear resin and is invisible.

Sorry if I seem to be pushing them too much, but I did an awful lot of background work on this, both on supplier and materials held. I claim some success for myself. but this little project was probably the only 1 in my life where someone came into my home and did a job I was totally happy with

Thanks again CB. Yes, yours looks great, mine will be a lot lighter, think starlight white quartz etc but hopefully will be very stain resistanct!

You're not pushing them too much - it's good to hear a positive experience of a company. As you previously mentioned, they are based up North and I'm down South but they are still keen to provide the service..... :)

Reading this thread with interest, am ...looking at Mayfair & am down south as well. I'm also looking at the white quartz starlight. Out of interest what brand was the white starlight?,I was told it was Compact, but I can't find it in their range for the life of me!!.

Any thoughts on Korean quartz anyone?

    Thanks in advance :)
No one said it was gonna be easy!

Hi Dhays. I've moved on from the starlight to white storm Silestone. Got many samples all lined up and look/s the classiest IMO!

What ever you decide on, go look. Samples are/get dated, todays materials, those you will get are what matters.
A 300 mile trip to fix the deal is small in comparison to a 25 years with a kitchen top that dissapoints

The above is more relevant for granite where the samples vary so wildly. If you're looking at a 'standard' Silestone for example, each one is very similar to the others. This seems apparent with many quartz.
