Just out of interest, did anyone receive the subscription they requested. I received this email, replied and have not heard anything since. Lesson learned, I think...
I won a subscription with Garnier. It took about 3 months until I got my first magazine though.2010 Comp wins: Lamaze baby toy, Cushelle koala, Frusli bars, knitted monkey, nursery rhyme DVD

I receive 3 or 4 letters a day, telling me I have won 20,000 or more, all I have to do is send a judging fee or processing fee.
I always send them back, and write on the forms deduct all fees from amount due and send cheque.
I then post them without a stamp, so they have to pay at the other end.
Whether this helps or not I do not know.

This is from their website
"We may use your personal data for the purposes below.
Ad Serving/Targeting
We may serve advertisements to you based, in part, on your IP address, the demographic and geographic information you submitted to the Company during the website registration process, and other socio-economic information, psychographic information, Internet behavior (e.g., browsing, search, shopping, purchase, and ad response behavior), and lifestyle information about you that we obtain from affiliated entities and from third parties.
We also use third party advertising companies to serve advertisements when you visit our websites. These companies may use and optimize information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services that may be of interest to you.
Pre-select/Pre-fill Offers
Our website technology may pre-select certain offers for you to view based on the demographic and geographic information you submitted to the Company during the website registration process in order that you receive offers that we believe are of most interest to you. Additionally, this technology may pre-fill some or all of the offers’ data fields with the information you submitted during the website registration process in order to prevent you from having to re-enter this information. We may not show all of the pre-filled data fields to you.
Upsell
We utilize customized post transactional or “upsell” technology to help advertisers generate sales, while providing you with a series of great offers we think may be of interest to you. The way it works is simple: once you purchase a product or service from one of our reward advertisers, you will be offered additional products or services that we think may be of interest to you. If you elect to purchase products or services from a third party advertiser in the post transactional channel, please input all necessary information on the subsequent advertiser form, including, but not limited to, your credit card information. You need to complete this information because we do not pass this information to the third party advertiser."
It's not a site I'd want to get involved with but they are very open about using all the info they can get from and about you to sell you stuff. They're not pretending that they don't do this. It's up to you.0 -
I see you have already discussed this and they have replied but I've only just found this thread.
I've been following a competition ran by the cbeebies fan clubs. They run the sites for Mr tumble and cloudbabies for example. (as a new member I'm not allowed to post links
Every week they run a competition where you have to find a hidden object. Last week it was a kindle and this week it is an iphone. Last week I spent hours and I mean hours hunting for it. I downloaded all the pictures (after clearing my cache) and looked at them on zoom. On the day that they revealed the location it appeared in the picture they enclosed. Once I went back to the site (after clearing cache again) lo and behold it was obvious to the naked eye in the top corner of the photo montage of Mr Bloom.
If you right click on that photo you will see that it was modified Thursday 13th September 23:54 By this time they said it had been found. I have email proof of this. Now how can somebody have found something that wasn't there???
Today it is the result of the iphone. Now they've made it pretty clear that it is on the page with the zingzillas. They only place that can be is on the "live" page of Mr Tumbles website
I've downloaded the photo again which at the moment states it was modified Friday 14th September 00:22 Now what's the betting that changes? Only if that turns out to be the location of course.
They claim they are working with the IPM (so I've sent a modified version of this post to them) and that they make sure it is on the site. I'm positive this is a fix and it appears I'm not the first to say it.
It makes me sad because I've wasted so many hours and have a disappointed little one. It just amazes me how obvious it is once the competition has closed. They try to tell me its my cache but I even looked on a computer that had never been to their site!!!
Also, if you think about it, surely a site that clearly only earns revenue from google ads and amazon doesn't make hundreds of pounds each week to make it worth their while?...........0 -
plese let us know the outcome liberty girl
oh and welcome to MSE nice to see new posters :T0 -
