Futurecompetitions is the holding site for competitions run by magazines/sites within the Future Publishing group these include Metal Hammer, Total Guitar, Classic Rock, Mollie Makes, PC Format, PC Plus, MacFormat and a lot of others. These comps are posted on MSE
S.I'm new to comping but am avoiding any that look like 'allprizes/allcompetitions.com' just cuz I figure they're basically harvesting sites. Have even started checking the urls now as some comps for named brands - it looks like a legit page then notice that the web address is actually "futurecompetitions" - annoying.
I've noticed quite a few for "Competwition", not sure it's legit as it may well be companies using it as they do with surveymonkey. Any experience good/bad?

Hmm, they are a bit dodgy! I entered a comp with Gocitygirl, and I won a load of Adessa (?) cooking oils and apron and a few other bits, a nice prize! However when I sent them my address, they said 'Oooh we are sorry (This was Alice Chan who seems to be in control of comps) but we don't know how to get your oils to you without them breaking! (Really???) Also, I made friends with the other winner of these oils, and they had said the same to her, so what they did which I thought was really naughty, was offer me any of the other prizes that were being given away at that time. I thought this was terrible, as It meant people were entering comps they couldn't win, because I was taking the prize without working for it. Instead I said I would simply like a prize that matched the cost of what I had won before. I finally recieved this two months later. They are hard work, and I shall not bother with them again, as Alice Chan was rude and unhelpful. I Hope you get yours sorted xxxIpad 3, Holiday to Barcelona, Holiday to St. Ives, Holiday for 6 to Newquay, Lumix Camera, £1000, 42" LG T.V...I love to Comp! :T Wishing Everyone Here Massively Good Luck! :beer:0

Looks real to me, all they're asking for is your address which is available to anyone if they care to look for it. Well done.

DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMP. WITH A 100 FOOT BARGEPOLE. DON'T EVEN CONSIDER IT WITH A 200 FOOT ONE
From the Mirror's Penn & Sommerlad Investigates:
EVER wondered why you get so much rubbish in the post? The answer might lie in letters from The Winners Club, Prizes Unlimited and Prize Wordsearch Club.
They are cleverly worded to imply that you are likely to win up to £5,000. Promising "guaranteed winners payout",
one has been sent to 200,000 people but has only 34 prizes.
They come from Churchcastle Ltd, are legal, and because there is no entry fee there is apparently nothing to lose.
But if you respond to Churchcastle, in St Leonards-on-Sea,
it can sell your details to "approved" clients via a mailing list broker called the J Partnership Ltd.
This company is known to Sorted because it handles such "approved" promotions as Sweet & Tasty and the Jewelry Vault, both of which we've exposed as dodgy.
When we visited Churchcastle, director Neil Frogley at his HQ in Putney, west London, he was frank about his business, promised to help readers and even posed for a picture.
However Frogley, 30, was previously director of Carnell Ltd,
a mail-order outfit which has featured in Sorted because of misleading ads and bad service.
Frogley also runs Esmark Ltd which was censured last year by the Advertising Standards Authority for flogging the bogus "Clinic-30 weight loss programme".
Churchcastle is part-owned by Frogley and Guernsey-based Tommy Backer, but the majority shareholding belongs to one Simon Barklem, 35, a director of dating agency giant Dateline and formerly a boss at Golden Standard Ltd, yet another company exposed by Sorted because of its record with junk mail rip offs.
