Just wandered what people are called as grandparents. There are plenty of nanna's, nans and a grandma in our family. I don't fancy being called granny (not old enough lol) so what's left ??

My DGD calls me Anna, seems to be the nearest she can to nana

My mil wanted to be called Nana bcause she didn't consider herself old enough to be a Granny  - I went with what she wanted, but I'd also add that my Nana was the same, though she was about late fifties when i was born- I hated calling her Nana, thought it sounded very babyish when I was a teen.
Get over the age thing - Gran sounds fine, or Granny if it's easier - who knows maybe folk will think you look great for your age instead of thinking 'not another one in denial':pMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

A friend's grandmother was always "Noonie" as that's all she could say when she was small. It stuck... 28 years later "Noonie" is still "Noonie".
My grandparents were always Grandma A**** and Grandma M****. So original, I know. :rolleyes:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
My 2yr old niece calls my mum Adam.
Kids eh???
I think they will make it up as they go along.
I'd try to avoid any of MrCow's suggestions - They all sound like characters in Contemporary 60s style London Gangster movies. :rotfl:0 -
I'm only 49 but I can't possibly think of myself as anything but Granny (my Mum was granny and she died some years ago) - but DGS can't speak yet, so I don't mind becoming something else if he decides I'm to be called something else. His Dad called his Grandpa 'Eddy' because that's what he heard his Granny calling him.
I love DGS so much that he can call me fishface if he likes, lol!0
