Yuletide Greetings to one and all!
Can I join in the "S*d off 2009, 2010 has got to be better" thread as well? 90% of 2009 was totally carp and I will be glad to see the back of this year!
Oh and from the sounds of it I hit lucky with Dr Dragon! He is in the same mould as our ovine friend et al!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

hey, bob, the thing is we pretty much all start out with great expectations/hopes/dreams/whatever, but the reality of life kicks in and you have to adjust (having kids is a great event for doing this). So not LOW expectations bob, just modified, responsible ones...and maybe mr.bob needs to take a leaf out of the book of reality and do the same. Unfortunately yes, it does hurt sometimes, trying to get through to those who don't quite get it, but you have friends on here to vent off at as & when needs must
I'll do you a deal....let's make 2010 a good year no matter what, with mutual support at least on MSE if nowhere else
...and keep a healthy supply of semi-rotten turnips just below your throwing hand behind the sofa out of sight
Ok i am up for that..i must admit that i was probably having a 'Oh no it's a Deja vu moment' before.
Had a lovely visit from a friend before, have been for a crunchy walk in the snow and have cleaned the house so all is shiny and sparkly-with lights everywhere:D I have brought some pine and lucky Heather in and a bit of Holly as well..must keep the Pagan traditions going too as it is Yule. No logs though at moment as no where to burn em.
Will finish upstairs tonight and am feeling snuggly and warm. So all good there.
Thank you all for your support this year, i have to say since my lightbulb moment it has ranked up there as one of the worst and beleive me in the past there have been some bad ones.
So onwards and upwards..i am seeing off 2009 with a smile and cheers for the wisdom of those who surround me, everyday i am grateful for all that i learn and the generosity of a kind heartfelt word.:beer:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

You have a fair point there El, i suppose i am quite intolerant at the [STRIKE]moment[/STRIKE]this last year and that has something to do with things. I know i am certainly no angel and a lot of chaps would run a mile with my evil sense of humour and dark mutterings..i am sure Mr.B has gone deaf in his old age :rotfl::rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

So it is El, I always see this day as the start of celebrations because it means the nights will now get longer and things are there to be planned and look forward to.:D:beer:
Did i tell you i like a cunning plan?:rotfl::rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

i kinda see it that way too ...the shortest day of the year ...which means from tomorrow we are getting shorter nights ...so time to hatch those cunning plans ...do you have any in mind?0

Personal Goals:
1. is to finish my Master's degree.
2. Be less miserable and stop dwelling in the past.
3. To lose weight ..again:rolleyes: But more importantly to build up my walking.
4. To meet more of the lovely folk off here.
5. To look into starting up my own business with a couple of colleagues..currently in planning stages and linked to Master's course and research.
General Goals:
1. To be personally/jointly debt free which will happen this year and pay more off mortgage.
2. To ensure Mr.B's debts are controllable- which i suppose if i clear the other stuff off will happen.
3. To have money set aside for DD2 Uni fees..i have £500 so far, not a lot but i don't want her to struggle as she has so much to deal with in life. It may go for a small car for her, if she passes driving test this year.
That's about it for now. Thanks for making me think it through properly as i suppose i was mulling about it..now i have written it- well it will be easier to focus on it.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

i really like them they are very good goals ...
i need to do more walking myself it was sore there walking for a while due to my shoulder (yes that even hurt when i was walking ) i havnt walked far at all for such a long time because of it ...but i miss it ...so i might join you on that one ...oh and the loosing weight one ...i am joining dragons thread in january maybe think about it ?
can you do a masters degree over as long as you want ? i thought it had to be two years and that was that ...that is interesting to think of for me for the future maybe then....
i am liking this debt free malarky i think it might help quite alot with the stress you are having with mr b ...maybe taking it away altogether might help?
not dwelling on the past ...that is a very good one to have (possibly the most important) maybe write it all down ..everything then set it alight? have a cleansing type thing ???
starting your own business great idea and a future for you ...
meeting the lovely folk off here ...now that sounds like fun ...and yes we need to meet up lets make 2010 the year we do again0
