Well i am definately on a countdown for this year to end after just having a heated difference of opinion with Mr.B.
He has had a phone call for a bill- which he has paid, however he had made an arrangement with them for another 3 months. Why were we arguing? Because he expects me to come up with the solution and pay off arrears,at the end of the 3 months, bearing in mind he also has an arrangement coming to an end with Capital one as well..it is a nasty one too as they want £1200 off him at the end of the 6 months. he is four months into this...Oh and the car as well. His answer was that i was saving to clear the overdraft then it would equate to the arrears and would go off that..which is true, but i want the overdraft gone. What would anyone else do?
I am shouldering more than my fair share of stuff and paying off joint debts...i feel like crying now and it has ruined Christmas. Not that he has paid anything towards that either.
I really do think he should go and see a debt counseller in the New Year, as i am all out of ideas now. I would gladly help him out the money if it weren't for the amount i am paying off..i just felt shocked that's all.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Oh Bob - just as you think he's getting it, he proves all over again that he's really not, doesn't he! Try to keep that positivity you had in your earlier post with your 2010 goals in though - that's the only way you can battle forwards.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

He tries to say he is getting it..maybe i am not listening correctly:o
I am keeping to my goals- because i want the joint debt gone( and most of the joint stuff was taken out after last time:mad:) and in some ways i think he has to stand up and be proactive in clearing stuff off. I was just thinking about all the extra work i am taking on, specifically with these goals in mind. I have plans and refuse to have the rug pulled from under me..:cool:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

So how does this sound?
1. Clear off current account overdraft- get rid of overdraft facility then that can't be run up.
2. Open up another current account with a different bank- I will transfer my wages into this and set up a DD payment for joint loan from that.
The last thing i want the bank to do is to use the offset rule and take money out of my account, put it into joint one then use it to pay off anything he has with them ( I have just found out that he has made arrangements for his other Tesco card, which he didn't tell me about as the 0% has ended on that) As this is owned by RBS/Natwest- they could do that.
I am thinking the same thing for Tax credits until April as i reckon we will lose them then. Child benefit which will also go after DD2 leaves college. These can then go into a fund for her Uni fees. Until such time as they are no longer there.
I feel a bit gutted about shifting banks- i know they have no loyalty, but i have been there a long time and feel well.. a bit meh about it all.
Will have to set up new savings account as well.
I am just toying with the idea at the moment.
Right off to play Scrabble on FB at least i can get some enjoyment from that. lolBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I did the same with shifting banks BOB as we both had loans and credit cards with the same bank so moved to one completely unrelated to any debts we had.
Sorry to hear about Mr BOBs antics but please dont let it spoil Christmas for you xxxxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

I agree no point in letting it spoil christmas for you.Having an account with a bank unrelated to any debts you have is always a good idea anyway.2010 will be your year I'm sure.0
