Things seem to be fairly quiet all round cocalls, so not just you! I have noticed a significant slowdown in extra money coming through, and I am certainly having to go close to the wire just to pay petrol etc.
But they will pick up, I'm sure - and if we can get through these slow times, we can get through most things!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Aha but then you got some unexpected money i noticed Hypno well done on the rebrand & i did i too as looked on my payslip to see i had a fantastic 1%:ppayrise woo woo it was backdated to april so i have an extra £100 in my pay tomorrow. acually i mustn't be too dismisive of my payrise as a) at least i have a job and b)most people i know who work in the private sector have had pay freezes so im pleased actually.
So it looks like i will be able to pay everything off tomorrow roll on friday.0 -
Dont know if anyone's remotly interested but today i will pay off my cc:beer::j:j:j
Its been a bit of a hard slog with OH not really on board and thinking that paying me for his bit of the holiday i put on the cc is somehow doing his bit hmph
But tis done, im going to cancel the cc as it's a cash back one and just too tempting to slam things on there thinking oooh i'll get cashback for that. im going to redo my SOA as things have changed since i last did it and i might keep this diary going for a bit as i have morocco hols and xmas coing up so i dont want to slip.
We still have so much stuff to buy as i dont know what we've been spending our money on for the last 10yrs but its certainly not on nice stuff for the house as we currently need;
Fridge
cooker
tv (small one for the bedroom as the last one has died-strangley just after OH played his 15yr old supermario game on it)
boiler
chest of drawers (all the drawers are broken coming out of the bottom & cant be fixed)
Wardrobe(We dont have one)
mmmmm lots to be saving up for but for today im happy as we have a shiney new bathroom, no debt (well apart from mortgage & students loans but hey im not counting that and i managed to keep hold of my sorry our £5000 for moving nxt year)
Jobs a good un have a great friday oh and i won £5 on scratchcards ;)alls well.0 -

well done for clearing your card! it's such an achievement to clear each debt isn't it.
I know what you mean about payrises, we got one this year, and have a negotiated one next year but i bet dependent on which government gets in next we'll probably either, get a pay freeze, a pay cut or lose our jobs. What a wonderful world we live in. But i am thankful that i came on here 3 years ago and have gotten so far, i would be so terrified if this came when my finances were that bad, and they probably would have been worse if i'd left things another 3 years.0 -
too right lemon tree thats why i love this site!
Our unions fought hard for us for 6mths to get us that 1% increase-cheers!
im v tierd i did a nightclub mystery shop last night its a club that i haven't been to for about 8yrs and it made me feel v old!!
Oh in his usual get it think about how we're going to pay fr it afterwards attitude has bought a telly off his dad for £100 (its a flat screen one worth £400 apparantly) buts its only for the bedroom-i was thinking of asking if anyone had one on freecyle. Ah well. Will look into chest of drawers nxt!0 -
my OH is similar, he insisted that we needed a tv for the bedroom, have we used it? not very much. maybe he uses it when i'm not there but we certainly don't use it very often on an evening0
