yaaawwwnnnnn morning all
well chicken and swede curry went down well last night-anyone know what else i can do with swede and turnips? ive got so many from my work collegue that need using up.
£10 requested from bingo & quidco says i should get a payout of 16p ha ha!0 -
oh dear i seem to have messed up a bit and left myself really short, and i stupidly used the card from my old account so as a result i went od and now they're going to charge £20 darn it.
i have about £20 in my purse and only £26 in the bank & Oh owes me £40 but out of this i have £86 to pay for my train-eeek how could i have messed up so??
We're going to the lakes again on fri as Oh has his 2nd attempt at sky diving, and the hotel is £25 plus we'll have to buy a meal.
i may have to dip into the savings but im going to try really really hard not to, ive sold a book on green met for £3.00 & luckily i have loads of stamps and i think there may be a c ouple of quid in the savings tin. mmmmm i'll give the bank a ring and plead w/ them not to add the charges but as they let me off last time i dont think they will again, hopefully i should get my £5 reward from halifax at the end of the month. I think i need my thinking hat on!0 -
it is so easy to take your eye off the ball isn't it!?! I have done the same this month - made a payment from the wrong account......thankfully it won't affect the budgets because I noticed it earlier enough to rectify it, but had the same thing happened later in the month, I would have been in a position of overdraft and charges which I could easily have avoided.
As for swede - I love it in place of mash.....lots of butter and black pepper.....yum yum yumSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Im getting quite into swede curry actually! Made marrow & stilton soup last night not the tastiest but edible with lots of parmasan & olive oil drizled on top like what you get in posh places!!!!!!
Nothing much to report today virgin bingo is up to 4.75 so hopefully i'll get a pay out in a couple of days!0 -
luckily sky diving was cancelled today due to the wind so didnt have to pay for hotel etc, food shopping came to £53 but im well chuffed as we actually didnt spend any money on food last week just ate what was in the freezer & relied on my work collegues vegies well smart!!
Book sold on green met sent off, im getting £12.50 for a mystery shop & £ 5 virgin requested i may just survive until the 16th without dipping into the savings (fingers crossed!)0 -
I have been trying to buy as little as possible, but I go through fits and starts of "proper" cooking, which makes for very interesting meals when:
a) you can't be bothered to cook
b) you have a cold so don't fancy anything anyway, thereby not really caring what anyone else has to eat
c) old mother hubbard herself would be impressed with the contents of my cupboard!
But I have ordered a Tesco shop to be delivered tomorrow morning - we are down to our last loo roll, so that is alway a sign that shopping is needed :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. if the stress of your job is caused by you feeling that you are not doing it very well, is there any additional training/studying that you could do to help you do it better, and take the stress away?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi Hypno, i am asking for lots of training but i think the problem is with me-in this job go have to be v creative, organised, good with people, assertive & innovative, all of which im not and i feel like im failing every day. If you were the right person it would be the perfect job as people clamour to work in this industry but i think im just fundamentally lazy and don't like working, ive had about 49 jobs in my lifetime(since i was 13 i hasten to add) and this is the one thats the most well paid and something that im actually trained to do but i dont think i can take the stress of it anymore as im not being me when im at work, i have something that i need to do today that im dreading but i have to do it, but ive been up since 4.15 with it playing on my mind. Once i do it it'll be fine i know it but its the Fear beforehand which is killing, however the good thing is im training someone who'll do it for me afterwards so i have to get through today with him watching which in a way makes it worse.
Anyway nothing much to report on the money saving front im still skint but i've just got 10 days till payday.OH has given me the majority of what he owes me but it hasnt hit my bank yet when it does i'll be able to update totals.0 -
well i got through yest ok, the teacher even told me afterwards it was excellent, so why don't they come back then??
Anyway £190 from the joint account hit the savings so the total for savings is £2533.91, OHs money still hasn't hit the account when it does i'll put it all into the cc as i'm gettig impatient now!0
