I hope you enjoy working in the charity shop today and that it doesn't take too much out of you! You might find some things for your sewing.0

Morning all,
Well I enjoyed my morning in the shop, and was asked if I was going to the Christmas Party in December. So £5 deposit paid, And another £10 due on the day. But I thought that I ought to make the effort and join in. Get to meet the other volunteers that work different days.
I did spend. Could have spent more, but was as strong as I could be. I paid £4 for a wicker basket for the wood by my burner.
The sawmill got back to me, and they are delivering the wood on Saturday afternoon, so thats just in time.
I had a quick lunch of bread and ham, in the supermarket car park, before I went to collect twin2 and her son.
It ended up that she had to go to Northampton and not Banbury, so we detoured back to the cottage to collect my DS. However we had a bit of a wasted trip, and a lot more mileage then planned, as the Jobcentre had lost Twin2's claim, etc. Yet again. This is leaving them in considerable rent arrears, and all that hasstle all over again. (Apparantly they havent had thier benefits paid for a couple of weeks now. and are unable to get another crisis loan.) . I ended up buying nappies for her.
She said they had enough food in the flat. I didnt go much passed her front door, so I dont know. Her BF was inbed, apparantly he has hurt his leg!. mmm
She has been told about a Healthy Maternity grant, of £190 available so we have filled in the form and sent that off.
Today I have to go back to hers, not planned, as I came away with all her medical paperwork etc. (Was in the boot of my car!).
Biggest of Mooloo came for her tea, so I know that she has eaten properly today. Apparantly she also had dinner with her grandparents the day before, and is planning to go to them on a regular basis when they are in residence and not away in the caravan.
Now Its time for me to rethink the day ahead. I have been up along time, but dont seem to have achieved that much.! mmmmWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Thanks for that JHA,
I think that she is already getting the healthy start vouchers for DS1, but I will check that she is getting all that she is entitled too.
Will also see about the Other grant. But is he allowed that for her second child I dont know. But may as well get the information and apply!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well my day changed completely, but for a good one for a change.
DS had wanted to go to MK, so I asked my Mum if she fancied a trip to the centre, (without Dad for a change).
When DS went on his way, we went around the Market. I was looking for some lining for a coat I want to make, and some large buttons. I thought that I had some lining in my cupboard but I didnt. We had a good stroll around the place, and I managed to find the lining, tailors chalk, and then we also found some lovely patchwork fabric, in an Indian Fabric Stall, that will make lovely bags. So I bought a metre, which will make a few bags.
I also splashed out a bit, and bought a cutting board, so that I can cut out with a rotary cutter, speeding up the time it will take me to cut out a bag/cushion or what ever I am cutting out. Also can cut more than one thing at a time.
Mum also bought me the cuttingtool, and a foot for my sewing machine, that is for putting in invisable zips. She said it is a good investment in me, bless her.
She has faith in the things that I make, and reminded me about all the things I used to make when the kids were little. Everything from covering Sofa's, kidney dressing table, wedding dresses, clutch bags, veils, waistcoats, cravats, ties, cummerbands. Ring pillows, suits, baby clothes, etc etc.
We had a bit of a nostalgia trip, goingover the things we used to make, and the an enthusiastic afternoon of the things that I could make now, if I put my mind to it. Ways to work around my arm.
In the middle of Middleton Hall, there was a display/craft gift area, and we mooched around and picked up quite a few gift Ideas. So we plan on making our own versions of gifts.
But not tonight.
I am exhausted. So its an early night for me.
I havent even got the energy now to stay up and watch TV.!
So I will say goodnight all. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Well I am running late, again.
Off to take twin2 her paperwork, as I never managed to yesterday. Then to get my eyes tested. After which I am off to twin1's for a childrens halloween party, and then to bring GD1 home with me for the weekend. Or some of it. Depends on how I cope with her.
BF said he might come over to see me Saturday if his own DD gets a lift to work Sunday morning.
Right am off now. Take care all. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning, where does the time go?
I have to have new glasses. Luckily I chose those within the NHS vouchers. So no cost. I was there an hour and a half. So late to the childrens party. However we were the first ones there anyway. But we had to leave early, to help twin2 yet again. So another 100 miles clocked up. So she could get a crisis loan. The situation they are in is becoming intolerable. If the Jobcentre/benefits section do not manage to sort thier money out this week, I think its time to contact the local MP. How they expect an expectant mum to run around 40miles to get money they should have paid into the bank, its disgusting really. They have lost thier claim more times than I can remember now.
My day was completely filled with tooing an frooing in the end. I brought home DGD and she fell asleep in the car bless her. But we had a quick tea, nuggets and chips. I know not very healthy but it was after 7pm before we had got home.
Both of us went to bed at about 8.30 after her bath. She was so good. She slept all night, and didnt wake until 8 am. We had a good start to the weather and we went to see my parents, as they dont see much of her. We came back to the cottage for lunch, and were just tucking into our sandwiches when the wood was delivered. Unfortunately, they dumped it across the drive. Which meant I had to move it, piece by piece myself, with a little 2 year olds help, immediately, as it blocked the access to my neighbours cars.
I had just moved enough to clear a path through it all for my neighbour, when she needed to go out, and my BF arrived. (Why couldnt he have been an hour early? Ah well). He helped me to finish stacking it into the shed before we came back in, had a well earned cup of tea, and DGD played happily with him too.
We took DGD back home at 5pm, and then we went for a trip to the cinema. Havent done that in a while.
As we had to wait an hour till the showing, we had a drink and a starter combo dish, in a near by pub/restaurant. BF noticed Man United football on the TV and said, he would not have got tickets for the cinema, we could have watched that if he had know!!! Joking I hope. I am not a footballfan at all.
Yesterday was a washout in the morning, so we stayed in, had a late brunch. Watched the grandprix on the tv before he had to go, and I had to go and collect my DS from his sisters.
All in all a different weekend then normal. In the evening DS hogged my computer, and so I did a little bit more sewing before sitting down and just watching TV.
This morning I am off again. TAking my Best friend back to the Hospital in MK. So DS is going to have to take a bus from the nearest town, to college this morning. He doesnt have a lesson unti 11.30 so no good having taken him in early.
Looks like I may have yet another busy week ahead of me!.
Doctors appointments, back to work interviews(again), etc etc.
Time to wake DS or we will be late. Have a good day all. xWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
