Oh, thanks Chameleon, I am not sure what I did wrong.
Thanks for posting it for me.
Thanks for the comments people. I feel it does look better on! I wore it to DS's College Parents Evening last night. His teachers/co-ordinators were impressed too. When they learnt that I had made it. One of them has taken my phone number, so that she can contact me for some little alterations, etc and another is getting married nxt year, and is getting a dress off of Ebay, that she thinks will need altering. So maybe some work there!.
I have to say that I was quite chuffed with it. Its the first Coat that I had attempted too make. Now I am going to see if I have any fabric hanging around to make myself a top or a blouse or something. It will also make me tidy up the diningroom, as I have all sorts of boxes and bags lurking, from rummaging around looking for something the other day.
(I still have bags and boxes of stuff that belongs to the twins!). I really need to clear it up, and probably out!). Someone suggested making bedcovers out of babyclothes so I havent moved on the things the grandchildren have grown out of. I must confess that I have somuch stuff that I want to turn into some thing else, that I am never sure what to make next!.
Took DS to his college this morning, far too early. It was supposed to be a drop off at the bus stop, but when we got there, he had missed the bus, so Ihad to go on to the college. We were nearly there by 8am! An so we dropped into Mr. T. and I manage to get him some long needed clothes!. Luckily he doesnt have to have designer wear.
(This lot would not have been possible if the CSA hadn't caught up a few weeks ago.). So I am £125 lighter in the "savings" bank of Mum. But DS is actually wearing clean, neat and tidy clothes. He even went in with a collar an tie today!:TWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
The coat looks brilliant. Wish you lived closer to me as I have plenty of clothes to be altered.

Daughter has not purchased any wine for me. I bought my own! But I will hopefully get some when we go shopping next time. (Heaven forbid it all dissappears over the weekend!).
I hope that you have a wondeful time at your Markets, and enjoy the time away with Hubby. And enjoy the luxury of spending your hard earned christmas money.!
Have been tidying up the dinning room. Its beginning to look bigger again now. I have still got a large holdall of things that are baby/twins clothes. Thy obviously havent needed them in 7 months! But I havent the energy to go through them and sort them tonight.
DS is on his Xbox and I guess that is where he will be all weekend.
Have put our tea on, good old sausage and mash!. Comforting food.
Struggling to keep the fire lit. Well its more like its making charcoal out of the wood, instead of making any real heat!. But I will bare with it.
The draft from the kitchen is horrendous. I will be glad when the landlord gets off of his XXXX and signs the agreement from Warmfront. I shall be writing him a letter myself now, as they are not getting a reply.
I shall head it REPAIRS! Broken windows and non existent draughtproofing!. As well as the window frames need waterproofing/paintng to keep the elements out.
For now, its time for me to relax, think about what I would like to do next, and what I suppose I hve to do!
BF is coming to me tomorrow now. DS is staying home. First weekend in months and months I think> Hope they both behave.:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Well BF came over early. His daughter was stopping out on Friday, so he came here, at 10pm Friday. While he was here he helped me to sort out a leaking drain, and we went to MK to have lunch, although in the end we didnt. But we bought an Axe so that when we got back he cut up some of my logs for kindling. He also helped clean up the screen, sorted out the vaccum, and helped me string up some curtain fabric, (3 layers of it), over the drafts coming through the front door.! made use of him then.
Anyway apart from that it was lovely to see him earlier then expected.
Spent 3 hours this afternoon with DS and Biggest of Mooloo's. It appears that my ex husband is planning on asking one of the twins and her baby to his for christmas. Thats good, in as he has practically ignored them for the last 6 years. But not so good in that we had all made plans for the festive season. So it may actually all go to the wall in the end.
As a couple my BF and I, are stuck between the wanting to be wth our families, and to being with each other. Aw well if they are actually happy then thats good. Just would like to have an idea about who I am catering for or not.
The log fire is now glowing very well. Typically its taken me all the evening to get right.
My tv keeps going funny. Signal not so good.
Pressume the weather is getting in the way.
Was going to go to bed, but dont want to leave the fire burning so may be up for a while while it slows down.
Twin1 tells me twin2 has blown her money on new DVD player and DVDs so far and not paid her back. How unusual. Typically I have not heard anything from her(twin2).
Michael Caine on Tv. Missed start. Notsure if its my film but may just watch it for a little while.
Night all. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

If you can sew in a straight line, you can learn to sew most things. Just take it one seam at a time.!
I should sew more then I do. I havent sewn clothes in years.
Missed Gallows Law earlier. Had wrong channel on. Typical. Wonder if its on I player, so I can catch up.
Better go now. I am way passd my bedtime. Good night all. x:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning,
It was about 1am when I actually did go to bed in the end!. Watched Garrow's Law on the Iplayer. Wrote my diary.etc.
Tired this morning, but I didnt have to get up early. Although I still woke up early. Tried to go back to sleep, but it didnt really work.
BF sorte out the arial for the TV in my bedroom, so I am stting up in bed with GMTV on, and a cup of tea. Its warmer in the bedroom, as the storage heater is in here. It is also lighter, as the sun comes up into the window here.
So I have brought the laptop up to my room, and thought I would read my emails, watch a bit of breakfast TV and veg a bit longer in my room.
I know I should be doing something more productive, but I am hiding away from the weather. DS was at his sisters, so I didnt have to get him to college this morning. So I am having even more Me Time.! No doubt it will be interupted by one twin or the other at some stage. But until then....When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I spoke too soon. Had an urgent call from twin1. Her social worker was there giving her grief. Twin is unwell, and finding it hard to clean and look after her daughter.
It took me about half an hour, maybe just over to get there. I agree with the Social worker that it was not good enouh. But I told her a few home truthes about them. This is about the 6th Social Worker I have seen. I told her that it was all inconsistent etc etc. There was concern that place was not suitable for baby etc. So it has been agreed that they would draw up charts to help twin1 focus. etc etc.
What to do, step by step to lookafter daughter and the home.
They were there for a long time. It was agreed that I would take my granddaughter home with me. So that her mum could rest. I also agreed that I would help twin1 to tidy up the flat to the standards they require, so that twin1 has another base to start again with. I am concerned that they are threatening to remove my granddaughter from her mum if they dont see the improvements they require.
I now have her coming here to my cottage at 9.30ish tomorrow morning. (Good job DS has said that he is stopping at his sisters again tonight. so I dont have to take him to college.).
I am tired. Emotionally its a strain. Physically it has and continues to take its toll on my body. I am worn out from cleaning the kitchen/sitting room of Twin1's flat before going shopping for basics, that she needed. I managed to get a few things Ineed. But ended up spending£23.50 in Iceland, and another £1.59 on Vicks Vapour rub for twin1
Granddaughter and I are now in the sitting room. She is chatting away, and has been pretending to play the "bass" she tells me, and the "drums", with DS's GuitarHero. She is a card.
I shall definitely not be staying up until 1am this morning.
I had hoped that BF would come by in the Bentley car he has for work today. But I will not get to have a ride in it now. Couldnt take a baby into it. Eek, the seating/leather, etc. Doesnt bare thinking about. What a dream to have a bentley for the day!.
I missed my lunch, with all these unscheduled activities, and so now I am "starving".
I shall have to think about dinner for us both. Doubt DGD will eat much, as she has been snacking on crisps. (Naughty granny gave her some as granny needed a quick something when we got in the door!.).
Right I better go now, and play with my DGD while I still have some energy.
Hot water is on for a bath for her. Her clothes are a bit suspect so they are in the washingmachine. I am going to have to break the rules of not using the tumble dryer as I need her clothes asap. She is in her dressinggown, and trousers at the moment.! Not sure if I will have the energy to get back on here. We will have to see. Probably will when she has gone to bed, if I dont go to bed with her as I did the last time she stayed here.!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Sounds like another mess. Social services knew they had to keep their eye on the ball where your daughters were concerned. They have yet again failed you and your family. Well done for taking your grandaughter. Lets hope that all of this doesn't impact negatively on the children.0
