mooloo, my DS is also a 'grazer', he seems not to eat at all during the day, and then comes in from school, makes a couple of sandwiches or four slices of cheese and ham on toast, then has a bowl of couscous. I still get him to sit with the rest of us when we eat, he usually picks at his food, leaves half and comes back to it later! Drives me wild, but he's not wasting away.

Would your DS cook for you sometimes? He's definitely the age when he should be learning! And maybe if he's cooked he'll eat better.

  • Hi Mooloo

I hope you dont mind me posting, I have been a lurker on this thread and the previous one! I think you are fantastic the way you cope with anything life seems to throw at you and Im glad you are settling well in your new home. I can sympathise to an extent with your ill health, I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis and I know just how much these things (especially the pain) can change our lives. I am just 25 and was diagnosed almost a year ago and my life has changed completely in the past 12 months, but I try to look for the positives..........so what if some days I go to work with no socks on!! :rotfl: (not reccommended by the way!)

Had a thought about your fantastic creations, have you considered maybe doing some village sales/fairs? I know you are attending a few things in your local village hall. Might be worth checking if they have a sale or fair.

Your creations are fabulous and Im sure people would be snapping them up.

    Hope you are doing well

Oh yes please. I think that most of the bits of ribbon I have have come from packaging from Mr Primarni :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Its quite expensive to buy, and yet its free with a £4 fleece and a £2 pair of PJ's.

I must agree with this I made a draw string purse type thing for storing little bits and bobs for a relative last Christmas and they raved over the ribbon that was opening/closing it and I was sitting there thinking it has holding my pyjamas in a bundle when I bought them.
I have noticed that he isnt eating properly though, hes not touching the fruit and is not hungry when its meal times. (The snacks that have been lurking in he back of the cupboard are all gone!). So I will have to try and makesure he is getting the right things as he is shooting upwards. Cereal and milk is the only thing I see he eats on a regular basis!.

I wouldn't worry about this too much in the short term, I know my brothers used to do this when they were about to have a growth spurt. He won't starve himself and you say he is eating cereal and milk so there is some goodness in there.

    Morning all,
Better night last night. Although I am feeling tired. Just got the Apple and Ginger jam on the hob. About 20 mins to go, before I can jar it up, so I will have to put the jars in the oven in a minute.
Butcher man just been, so I bought my expensive but lovely meat. 6 sausages, 2 beef burgers, and 1lb of stewing beef, £7.39. But there is no Fat content so no shrinkage.!! Melt in the mouth last time, so I shall lookforeward to that next week.
I feel better so I am going to be able to drive to Oxford in the little car.

I shall take something to sew with me, now that I have my sewing machine at BF's as well.

DS was up on his computer until 3am!!! When I had a go at him for making too much noise!! (He gradually got louder and louder!!). Anyway he did eat with me in the evening, mince, potatoes and green beans. So I know he ate, and then when I came down this morning the tell tale signs of scrambled egg on toast and a few single jelly posts and baby bells gone.!!

Re the sewing complements, thank you all. It really is a confidence booster. I shall really have to put my act together and make enough things to sell at some sort of fair etc. Missed the village hall sale, but there will always be another one I suppose. I need to work out saleable prices though.!
Time to go and sort out my jam. Catch up when I can.

PS Hello Loopy Linz feel free to lurk or post when ever you like! I am sorry to hear you have arthritis at such a young age!. I wish you well.

  • Hi shaz, just caught me before I go to Stoney with my friend.
Looks like MiltonKeynes may be the nearest for me, as I am now near Banbury, then I am northampton.! Not that my geography is that much. Got to fly. Am hoping the jam will set, as I rushed it a bit.
    Got to go.
