Congratulations on your new car!! :j
  • Fantastic. At least you will be able to remain mobile.
  • Thats great news mooloo ..............what a wonderful dad

i have an automatic and it makes all the difference,i also have a steering wheel knob which makes reversing and parking so much easier(i have the same condition as Mooloo)

well done on rationing your help with the girls at least with the smaller car you have a real excuse(not that you need one)

I have my DSS medical on tuesday and after watching benefit busters last night i am a bit nervous ............... i should have had it in February!! so if my claim continues they owe me money backdated from then to now about £25 week

If not they will put me on jobseekers(if i qualify) and make me look for a job

I could really do to go today as i am in agony and stiff ,that way they could see me at my almost worst

Got a party tommorrow my ds is 18 and i have 26 people coming for a meal....................................heatpack and painkillers and an early night for me, i think hubby will be doing work and i will be foreman:rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry to hear your having a bad day today Shaz, funnily enough I had to take the painkillers, the heat pad etc and lie down at 7.30 last night, and only surfaced to do to the loo, until 7.30 this morning!. I am currently sitting with a heat pad on, and will be taking it easy once I have taken DS to his Judo. (His moped Tax has run out and I forgot to renew it on line!!), and it wont start. Think there is a fuel starvation problem, but I am not a mechanic so I am not sure. (IF its not one thing its another!).
Looking foreward to the new smaller car, and will research a knob Shaz.

Currently my Digital box is messing me arround, no signal on BBC/1/2/ and a lot of other channels, saying Technical error after 30 seconds of picture, and when it finally retunned into itv, its all broken up, so the weather must be bad, as its impossible to watch. Just what I want when the arial lead to upstairs wont go through the hole in the wall, so I wont be able to watch tv in bed either!. mmmmm
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Morning, I cannot believe that its after 8am already.
I woke early at 6.40 and got up to go to the loo. Decided to put DS's washing on, and sorted out the piles into the bathroom. Then made tea. Washed up from last night. (As I couldnt be bothered, being so sore from playing "Mr Shifter" with the furniture.) Then tried to retune the digital box with no avail.
Tried to put the TV in thebedroom on, and now thats gone. So not even a fuzzy picture on that!.
So I came onto the laptop, and have been trying to go through my PM box and delete the things I am sure I probably dont need anymore.

My sitting room, being much smaller then when it was in the other room, is looking quite cozy now. Couple of snags, so far. Now we have to circumnavigate around the sofa to get up the stairs, and into the new diningroom, and the front door which opens straight into the room, has not yet been draught proofed, so I was sitting with a gale in my right ear, from the letterbox, that doesnt have a flap, only the brushes left on it. I hope warmfront come back to fix it all soon!.
I am not going to Oxford this weekend. I am just too sore, as I knew that I would be. Also today there are some Fetes in the village around, and if the weather is suitable I was planning to go and support the locals. However I think that I will have to give it a miss now, as the old car has already cost me £80 in petrol this week. Which is more then I get for a weeks benefits. (Well just shy of).
I need to think about the fact that I have been spending be it in dribs and drabs, and its all added up to quite a bit over budget. So no haunting the local charity shops for a few weeks. (That alone is like trying to give up smoking to some people).
So the things that are now in the new dining/work room, need to be organised. As and when I am feeling up to moving boxes and bags. Mostly Bags, carrier bags, and those big laundry type bags, (Or shoppers for the supermarket trolley).
The understairs cupboard needs to be rethought as its got left overs from the old house, and things that belong to the twins/DS/biggest of Mooloo's that they want but havent got room for....... Ha, well I havent got room either, so I am going to be ruthless and go through it and throw out the junk.
Yes,yes, I know. If its car boot able, or Ebay able I must record it, price it, and get it out there.!
Mind you I will have to do that with the sewing, as I have made these things, but I have yet to sell them. Only sold the cravats, which were made to order, and the disney cushion.
Need to make enough things to make it worth my while putting them on Etsy or anywhere else that I might find a customer base from.
Its OK making things but I need an outlet for them too!!.

DS went to Judo last night and his mates Dad is supposed to bring him back today. What is the betting I get a call later asking if he can stay at someone elses place?
At least he came home on Thursday, and was here when the connextions chap came for him yesterday. He even showered, put clothes on that were not Black!!, and shaved his locks off!!
He seemed to have a positive feedback from the college, and is going to be going to college for an E2E course. They were pleased that he got a C in his GCSE Science, and will build on his D for English and Maths etc.
He will be able to be "paid" £30 a week to go, Also as there are no buses from our village, they will give him 25p a mile allowance for his petrol. As the college is 21 miles away, that will add up to quite a considerable amount of money. It also means that I can still get Tax Credits and Child Benefit for him. So as soon as he gets enrolled, then I can get back to the appropriate people and extend my claims!!/ Thank goodness for that. We will be able to survive on that!!. There is a God out there somewhere. Or a Lucky star shining on us.
I just hope that he doesnt change his mind. That he does attend the college, unlike his truantcy at school, and that he learns to use his money wisely.
Now all we need to do is find out why his moped is not running properly.
It appears to have an emergency fuel cap, and i think that that may be a contribution to the reason why there is a problem. (No vacuum in the tank?). But I am not a mechanic, so I will just have to take it to someone who is. Which means having to do it today, while I still have the big car. (Can just get it into the car upright, if we take out the back two rows of seats.). Wontbe able to do that after Monday morning, when the car gets traded in.

I am getting a "nub bum" sitting here, so it shows I have been on the computer far too long, and that sitting up in bed (to keep warm) is not a good position to be in!.

Right I am off to get up properly. Make a second cup of tea, with my real teabags instead of the cheapies, and possibly some toast wth my Apple and Ginger jam I made last week.
I might even put the bread maker on. Havent done that in a month or two.
Looking out the window itsnot so good for the village fetes. And my lawn is covered in apples again. Gloves on this time to move them as i got stung by a wasp last time I did that.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Oh dont worry about it at all. I know how you feel about hectic times.! Certainly been going through them myself.
I too am hoping that things will calm down for me. Last night I said to my DS, I dont know how I found the time to go out to work, look after them and do all the other things I did before I was ill.
Now tht I am off the antidepressants I am doing more and more, but then I found I am overdoing it and suffering the consequences afterwards. Like today. There is not a bit of me that doesnt hurt. But the difference is that I am not retiring to bed when I feel bad. I have the place to myself most of the time so I just relax in the chair, have a cup of tea, come on here, and then get enthusiastic again, from this site, and pick myself up and do something else/
I just went out to hang out DS's washing. Yes he finally brought it down!!!:D
And ended up picking up hundreds of apples that were wasp or slug infested!! They are now in the wheeliebin compost one. Alng with several hundred wasps I think!!!
My neighbour was out and we were talking and she finally said I am sorry I dont know your name, so I told her. I knew hers as people have called at my house for her, and or, put letters in my door. So I know both of thems names.
Anyway we were talking about the apple tree, and I said I had made apple and ginger jam last week, but that I havent any jars left. She has given me 8 jars. No lids. So I will have to get some wax discs, and maybe make some sort of cover for them. Anyway I gave her a pot of my jam as a thankyou.
I have plenty apples and ginger to be able to make another lot.! There are also loadsof plums on her tree to grab!!.
I have to go out now, to take my Dad his Dongle back, as they are off on holiday, again. So he needs it.
I want to borrow his lawn mower too, as the grass is a mess.!
Maybe next year I will have sold some handbags or something, and be able to save up for a lawnmower of my own!!
Better go now, while I can still move. I feel the "siezure" of the joints even though I have had my mornings quota of voltarol and gabapentin!

Great news about your son, mooloo, I didn't realise they got petrol allowance AS WELL AS EMA. But he has to realise that he will lose it if he doesn't go, and that you can't subsidise him AT ALL. I know it's hard, when some children will be getting EMA plus extras from their parents, but life's not fair, and learning to deal with that is a vital part of growing up. We'll all hope your son does that! :rotfl:

Shaz I know where you are coming from. Although I am 48. My life has been so much of a roller coaster that I could write a book!! Coronation street not quite, but without the murders it could be pretty close!!!

Now I hope that I am going to be here for the foreseable future, and passed that!!

This afternoon I actually went to the Hortrcultural show with my neighbour. She is local through and through. She won 3 1st prizes with the flower arrangements, and her green beans. I felt a bit strange, but was introduced to a few other people who live in the village near us and a lady called jenny who used to live in my house. Who said she has fond memories of living here. She now lives in the farm yard apparantly. (I didnt ask which one).
Anyway, i had a cup of tea and a slice of cake, and met someone wth the same Surname as me, who was gobsmacked that we shared the same name? (I was forwarned that there was another in the village as he runs the Film Club and I read it on the leaflets that are shoved through the door!.)
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
