Well DS has been home and gone again!. Hes off to Oxford again!. Wish I was!!
Looks like a long week at home alone again. So I must focus on what I can achieve from my "work room" the dining room. Was supposed to be gettng the parts for my cars brakes today, but delayed until tomorrow now.
I cannot seem to find out if I have to have any qualifications to teach sewing on a one to one basis, or at a nightschool type of situation. Looking on Gov direct sites, and tried the local council sites too.? Maybe I am not looking in the correct place>
I know its different to teach adults then it is children. So more research needed!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Do your council have an adult / community learning team? I will make enquiries for you......
BTW re the car insurance, I got a good deal from the pink people last year but it went up quite a lot on renewal so went with that sailor chappie with the parrot.....who funnily enough is part of the same group as the pink people....hope you've gone through Quidco for some cashback!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Well I have a "numb bum" from sitting at the computer most of the afternoon and evening. I cannot actually seem to get to the places I want to while researching the options of teaching. Apparantly I need a degree to teach? Even sewing.? Not sure that that is right. I thought that you could teach some subjects if you were knowledgeable. Ah well, I will find out eventually. Mean while I will think long and hard about making pin money out of my hobby and see if I can get a few things together, to express my creativity, and see if they spark any interest.
Meanwhile, I am off to bed, I am so tired.

I thought that you could teach some subjects if you were knowledgeable.
I'm sure you're right, but you would need evidence to prove you were knowledgeable - probably something like C&G or BTec qualification if you wanted to teach a group of people. For one-to-one I guess you would be providing more of a service and if the 'customer' wasn't happy with it they just stop using you......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Errrata is right, if you want the council to employ you to teach you will need to show lots of experience or a qualification. The new one is "Preparing to teach in the adult learning sector" or some such nonsense. However, if you are doing one to one in your home or someone else's, who cares? Eventually you might want to look at things like public liability insurance, in case a client runs their finger through the machine or electrocutes themselves or something silly. It occurs to me that in a rural environment like yours, there might be lots of people who have downshifted and are desparate to learn craft skills. The WI might be interested too, although that might be preaching to the converted
.
You could also look at the ETSY site for selling things, lovely lovely site to spend several days lost in, I dont know how much people actually sell as its so huge, but if you are able to offer some thing unique then I think you could slowly build up a following. It's also a place to direct people who like your stuff to see more.
(just as an example of what's possible if you put your mind to it, I have a friend who lectures on the MBA course at a local university business school. He has 4 "o" levels, one of which is woodwork.)Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0 -

Well I am late up this morning, had an eratic night, as my mind was still buzzing.
I think that I will have to spend some time on researching these ideas, of selling my wares on the internet. But I don't (yet) know anything about how to go about it. Looks like I will be having another few days of research.!
MOOLOO may soon be born then. (Well I was born years ago. Mooloo is the nick name my big brother used to call me when we were little. Often lately shortened to Moo. Which is less flattering!.)
Lastnight I was thinking. M=Made O=out O=of L=lots O= of O=Old 'S=stuff!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I think that finding my"pricing" is going to be my main problem, as I have no idea of what to pitch things at?
Obviously I need to consider that what I make is going to be either unique of of a very limited edition, as it depends what I source in the Charity shops, and the like.
I would like to Recycle things rather then just make from new. But I will probably have to mix some new, i.e. zips, and other such fastenings. Mmmm you have all got me thinking.
more research needed.
This morning is the Coffee Meeting at the village hall, so I will go and have alittle chat with them.
Then I will have to think about the way to go foreward.
