Just been talking to the twins, they are actually on a bit of a peace negotiation this afternoon.! Phew. Things don't seem that rosy there. But there is not a lot I can do about it, except, listen and maybe give a word of advice here and there.
Doesnt look like I will be getting any money back from them for the other weeks groceries though. But I shall be asking. I am not giving up.
Just cooking myself some curry, (yesterdays turkey dinner with a bit of curry powder) and some savoury rice as I dont have any other rice left! Eek.
Putting off buying a delivery on the internet as I know I will spend far too much.
Will just have to make do with Pasta instead in future.
Biggest of Mooloo's can't come today, so I am not sure when I will see another living soul this week!.
After dinner, its pin the headertape to the fleeces and make those warmcurtain liners. Been talking about on the get ready for winter thread.
Then see what time it is and see if I have any energy to do anything else.
Or just veg out on the sofa infront of the tv.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

    These are fantastic Mooloo! :T :T :T

There's a market for these for school Proms, as well as weddings and other special occasions. Something to think about for next summer and plenty of time to build up a decent stock ;)

Do we have proms over here then? Shows my ignorance.
Right, that means anything left over thats satin/polyester satin, I better use it up and make some more!.

Hi Mooloo - those cravats are lovely - school proms are big business over here now!

Having said that my DD prom cost me only about £50 compared to £500 that some paid. Dress came from sale in Macys in USA and only cost £15 !!! Its been worn by DD and a friends daughter so very cost effective.

have nearly fininshed knitting the bits of my plastic bag and just need to put it together!

Are you doing the pattern that melts the bags with the iron?

I have put header tape on the fleeces and turned them into curtains. Ready for the winter. (To line other curtains if necessary).
Now I am going to have a go at unpicking a pair of jeans, ready to turn into a handbag.
Ought to go and look for a pattern, there is probably one out there. Seems like there is everything on the internet if I search hard enough.
I am sure others get there faster then I can, my broadband is ever so slow in this village.

    I cannot believe the time!.
I have been searching the web all evening/night!. I am certainly firedup about all the different things that I could sew.! But I bet tomorrow my arm will be complaining, from the typing! not the sewing!.
The curtain out of the fleeces only took 5 minutes!.
The handbag will take a bit longer. I will also have to think about the fastenings and the handles etc. I could have spent a fortune on the internet on handbag straps, fixers, fasteners, zips, buckles..........mmmmm But I am supposed to be recycling. So I will have to start to think a bit further out of the box.
Now its definately time to get some sleep.

Well I am up and about. Just not dressed yet.! Been on the computer looking at catching up on emails, and other threads! (not the sewing type!).
The sun is shining here, which is helpful. I shall spend a little time weeding in the garden before I sit at the sewing machine.
Have a pair of jeans just right for the bag I want to make. But I need to think about the fittings, Zips/Buttons/linin, and the kind of handles I want for it.!!
Better get myself some breakfast, have a shower and see how my left arm is. Its pretty bad today, as I thought it might be.!!
BF has told me that he has a pair of jeans I can have to make things out of too!!
(All offers of clothing from the family, friends etc, I will gratefully receive!!- the more recycling of things I can do the better.):T:D

The labels for my sewing have arrived in the post!.
Gosh Have I really launched myself into small business??
Seems mad to me. After all the dispare of the past few years.

Been busy with other things this morning. Made my first two Paper logs, ( stood on the gadget to squeeze out the water, seeing as my arm is not so good!). They are now drying in the greenhouse on the shelf along with a stuffed looroll tube. (Bit left over didnt want to waste it!).
    Weeded the front garden patch.
Picked up the rotting apples off the lawn. Unfortunately only fit for the compost bin.
Torn up half a bucket of paper ready to soak. But arm has givenup. So its cup of tea time and a rest for a little bit.

Can't wait to start making the bag out of these jeans I have here. But making myself do the other chores first or I won't get them done.!:o

Well its taken me a long time to turn the jeans into a handbag. More of a tote bag really.
Didnt like the original pattern, the bottom was just a seam, no base. So I put a new base in. I also didnt like the way the central zip panel was stitched to the outside of the jean top, so I re did it to the inside. Sits better. Then I also decided that really it would look so much better if it was lined. So I hunted out some remenant of Rose Hubble fabric, that I have had for years,... Hence it took me 5 hours to make. (after you take out the numerous times I had to stop to answer the phone and sort out twins problems etc.).
Anyway, here is my first attempt at making a pair of jeans, into a handbag.http://Jeanshandbag001.jpg

And I sewed in my first Mooloo label!http://Jeanshandbag004.jpg

Watching some CSI, going to try and relax and not think about the next project. I seem to have a table full of all sorts of things, from left over jeans pieces, to threads, lace, labels etc etc etc.... I need to find something to store it all in.! To tidy it up, so that I dont have to keep hunting in random places for the things I want.
I managed a no spend day. But I think that I may need to purchase some elastic and bits if I want to make things completely. Dont think that I will manage to recycle elastic to much effect!.
I will be thinking about what else I could do, with the rest of the jean leg that has the beaded butterflies etc on.

Then I will have to build up a stock of things to be able to make it worth while advertising somewhere or other!.

On the other hand, I had plenty of phonecalls from the twins. They are struggling. Social were coming out to see them today. Twin2's BF didnt come home last night, or tonight so far, and is not planning to now. He has left her overdrawn and with no money.!
Twin1 is still struggling to come to terms with the breakup of her engagement, and recovering from her recent miscarriage, only to find out, that she is still pregnant. About 8 weeks. So she was obviously expecting twins!. And on he implant!
She doesnt know what she is going to do now.
There has been a lot of other bits and pieces going on between them and thier chaps that I am only getting snippets of.
DS had his YOPs meeting in Milton Keynes, and is now out with friends in MK< but he is due home tonight. Having not been home since Monday!.
So its not all rosey out there, but as I am still without the car, I cannot really do much but listen and advise on the phone. Which is a good thing as it keeps me removed from it more.
There is a panel meeting tomorrow about the Bromford Housing flats that the girls missed out on last time. They are being put foreward for them again.! I hope that they get them this time, as then they will have 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, sittingroom and a bathroom.! So fingers crossed.
