Doesn't look small to me? And given that cottages are usually small surely this will have more room? It looks a really nice house.

I suppose I have lived in very large places before! Rambling pubs for example.
Its quite narrow, and the kitchen and bathroom are downstairs and at the back of the house.
    There is no dining room.
The cottage is not tiny really, (it was to me when I first came here after the last huge house,), but the rooms here are large compared to the ones in this house. However thats not a major problem, its just something I have to take into the equation.
The front room and main bedroom are at the front of the house, so those are the ones we can see.
When I looked in the windows at the back, it was about half the size of the cottage. But the fact that DS will have his own room, and there is a huge garden, so over time I will expand into the garden with some sheds. "workshop" and storage would be good.
But that will mean re-launching my Mooloo sewing and saving like the clappers. But I am sure I can do it. Eventually. Never say never or what ever the saying is.!

I am getting a bit more excited now.
Have I said that I have started to get quotes in for moving.?
Well today the quote from this morning was emailed to me, and he has quoted me £550 to move me, thats them packing it all too!! So I am going to say yes, once the other quotes from next week have been checked! I am hoping that SS will help me either with moving, or with carpet and cooker. 2nd hand is fine. But my Dad just told me to have the packing done and he will pay if SS dont. What a lovely, lovely Dad I have got. (and Mum as they would have discussed it first), and I am so VERY LUCKY TO HAVE THEM. :T:j

This, to me, just proves that my luck is on the turn, and continuing upwards.
So the outlook of Onwards and Upwards is paying off.!

I have lit the logfire in the front room for the first time this winter. The logs are left over from last year, well, earlier in the year. So they are burning well.!

    Morning,
We have watched the DVD that my Dad made up out of our little bits of video's from the holiday. Again and again, and again.
When i was searching around in the cupboards for something I found a DVD player that belonged to one of the kids, and guess what, although it doesnt have a remote, its working, so DGD can watch herself on the TV instead of my laptop, and pressing buttons that she shouldnt!.

I am behind on my decluttering, due to my arm, but BF has just reminded me that I was supposed to be decluttering 1 binbag a day! That was what I said last week, so I have 5 left to do before tomorrow!!! oops.
I am planning to go to see BF later today, so I suppose I better get on and do somework or I wont be able to go, and I certainly dont want to come home to a mess.

I have managed to keep the bathroom and the kitchen tidy this week, and DGD's just needs the bed making. But my room is full of clothes/fabrics etc that really need to be sorted out.
The problem is if I try to do it with her around she is into it all, and if I leave her watching TV she isnt watching it when my back is turned!.
Thats where I really could do with the family pitching in and keeping her occupied if nothingelse.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

The official letter with the offer of the house has arrived. So now I know its real.

  • Congratulations Mooloo!! I am delighted for you and it couldn"t happen to a nicer person!!
  • Mooloo this is the tme to insist to Twin1 that she does her share! She is very lucky that you have her daughter as if you didn't she wouldn't have that peace of mind. I know she doesn't fully comprehend things but you are still her mum and I think this is a time you have every right to exert (sp) some authority and give her a time and day that she WILL be there and entertaining DGD while you start filling your 4 boxes or binbags which ever system you have decided on.

Oh thats great Mooloo! The lady you spoke to at the HA has come up trumps, good for her. Just in time for you to hand in your notice to the landlord?

Yes I have written the letter just now, and printed it off.
I shall put it in the post, and that will be one less job to do.

I am still a little regretful, as its the end of yet another dream that didnt quite go to plan.!

but I must remember, onwards and upwards.
The rent at the new place is less then £100 so thats a bonus, and is something that is attainable if the benefits dont cover it. But they should cover it at the moment. Well most of it. they dont cover all of it as apparantly I have some spare income these days.!
Well I suppose thats good, as at one time I was definetely lacking it!
The childbenefit was very handy, and £142 that I had not really thought about, but it soon adds up, at £20.30 a week. It will help me quite a bit. As I had the lump sum, then it can go towards a cooker if needs must!
When I think about it, its all starting to fall into place.
I will probably not have anything left at the end of the move, but at least I have managed to start the move with funds!

I am trying to sort out the cupboard in the bathroom, roughly named the airing cupboard except its not really, its just a cupboard at the end of the bath where I store the bedding and the towels.
I am trying to be ruthless and rid myself of the ones that i really do not like/use. That no longer fit my bed. however I must remember that DS wants a double duvet for his room. So I will keep the most masculine of the covers for him.
Rest over, better get back to it.
    :D

Excellent news, I'm very pleased for you. Good luck with the avalanche cupboard ;)
Rally round DS, DGD's mum and Biggest to help you or to keep an eye on DGD while you crack on. You've done a lot for your kids, so it's payback time and normal for all family members to give as much help as is neededd and help mum at a time like this.
Any moaning by them can be countered with the fact that you will never, ever have to move again unless you choose to. It's a one-off and they need to get a grip. Cry if necessary. A lot !
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
