Thank you Mooloo for the birthday wishes, lovely homemade card and presents xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Happy Birthday Molly :) Have a wonderful day.

Hello Mooloo, sorry I haven't been around for a while, but I have been on holiday to Whitby and came back to a number of problems involving my elderly neighbour. Including some people conning £1500 out of her for non existent gardening work. The censors on here won't let me give my opinion on them. Thankfully it seems like the police have caught them and fingers crossed I won't have to go to court about it all.

It does sound like your DGD is entering the terrible two stage. My advice is stay as calm and consistent as possible, remember to breathe, and if all else fails, have a tantrum back at her. I did that with my youngest monster in Tesco and it cured him of it. He was 4 at the time and watching his mom stomp around the aisles having a major strop shocked him out of it.
I hope that today goes well and that you get lots of help and lots of things cleared out of the house. Fingers crossed that a new house will be available soon.
Keep fighting the system and make sure you get every single bit of help you are entitled to. Remember that NO is a complete sentence and take care of yourself please.
Love and a nice cup of tea xxxxxx

Or just a brilliant neighbour?:D

Oh a nice cp of tea is always the salve for my poblems. (well sometimes so is a glass of wine?:o).

The weekend didnt quite go to plan. But then with my lot there is nothing new about that one.

Twin1 decided on Sunday morning that she "had too" go home. That there is something "spirits" in my cottage and she couldnt stay anylonger. (The call of work more like). She cannot get away with sitting on her bum doing nothing, more like.
No matter how I asked her to stay for the family dinner, and to be with her daughter longer. She insisted on going home when I went to collect the others.
The only thing she did for me was to water the garden, and to mix the yorkshire pudding mix.
I did far too much again, becuase I took all my sewing stuff (except the machine) upstairs and dumped it in my bedroom, to free the sitting room ready for everyone else Sh was suppose to get DGD dressed. It took her 2 1/2 hours! DGD ran rings around her.

Twin2 and her BF were ready willing and able. Yes twin 2 helped with all the dinner. Her BF listened to what I needed doing and got on and helped. We decided that he best job to do was to move the big freezer and the tumble dryer out into the "shed" barn", the brick bit I store all therubbish, the wood etc into. There is electric out there.
This gave me space in the kitchen, and I can bring things in, and use the bottom of the fridge freezer, so I dont have to keep going outside.
I have a rail hanging in the utility where I tend to put the washing when its wet, and the washing machine is a washer dryer/be it not very good dryer, but its there. This freed up the access to a double cupboard in the utility room,so I could move all my approved food stuffs into one place, and not have it in the cupboard under the stairs, and under the kitchen table etc.
DS helped (reluctantly) to move the big items, and then I had to keep on at him to move the foods across etc. Every time I turned around he was back on the laptop or the Xbox. Infact he fell sleep, at the laptop with his fingers on the keyboard, doing some farmgame or other!. This was 3pm in the afternoon.
It was around 3.30 before we got dinner, as twin2 did it , the wrong way around, the greenbeans were ready before the other veg had even been put on, but as she was doing her best, I left it at it, and just suggested we microwave it on our plates when it was all ready!.
Her BF wanted to stop over, and relax etc and maybe help me with more things. But twin2 wanted to go home. (is it the work or something really gostly about my cottage). She did however say that while she was in the mood she wanted to go home and finish cleaning her place up.> So I wasnt going to argue with that and took her home.
DS was not to be seen again, he was on his xbox on my return, and when I went to bed he was still there!.

Anyway, there is still so much to do, and so much of their stuff still to be moved out. But at least we got space in the kitchen again, especially now I have my perching stool.

My bedroom will have to be done ASAP before there is no floor left for me to walk on! The ironing, the sewing, the fabrics etc are all up there now.
I really had hoped to get under the stairs sorted out and the sewing put in there. Next time I suppose!!
I think that when DGD goes to bed tonight I better attempt to do the ironing, and at least clear that up out of my room. (Well some of it, the mountain is quite high!). So it looks like sewing is going to have to wait until tomorrow afternoon when she is in Nursery and I am back from the solicitors and the dentist!.

Hi mooloo, just popping out of the lurking area to say beware in the winter that the freezer doesn't stop working. We had our freezer out in the brick shed where there was no heating and when it was really cold it stopped working as the outside temperature was lower than it was inside the freezer so it stopped and the food got defrosted.

Other than that, well done on getting started!

I shall remember that, and wrap it with a quilt in the winter!!
Or something. Maybe leave the light on in there? Mind you with the tumble dryer out there occassionally used we will see.
I so want to do much more, to make us comfortable and ready but I just cannot get the family moving!. I do not understand how a "doer" like me, (or i was) has managed to have 3 out of 4 of my children lazy toe rags!?

Been reading my horoscope today, and the daily reflection cards! But I am none the wiser. Time to get moving. DGD is making a mess with her breakfast!

What you describe is what can happen to a fridge-freezer that only has one thermostat controlling the fridge temperature. When the outside temp drops to that below the fridge, the thermostat switches off which also switches off the freezer. A lot of models now have dual thermostats so the freezer will keep on working regardless.

If it's just a freezer unit, either chest or upright, there shouldn't really be a problem. I've kept freezers out in garages, sheds etc for many years without a problem.

I think I might know why... Us "doers" usually "do" everything so they don't have to, then when we need them to its an alien concept to them ;)

How many times have you ever asked one of the kids to do something but ended up doing it yourself cos it was quicker? I'm exactly the same :rotfl:

Mine is a largish chest freezer. So I hope that it will be OK> The fridge freezer is in the utility area of the cottage. (The gap between the bathroom and the kitchen.). Grandly named the utility by the estate agents of course.

Re the children, You are probably right. I have finished off or done things all the time!.mmm
    Can i change my spots?
I will have no choice now I have trouble with my arm!

Morning Mooloo :) I haven't worked out how to do qoutes yet, so bear with me please.
I gave a statement to the police as the toerags had knocked on my door first asking if I wanted any gardening working doing. They made me feel uneasy so I said no and shut the door on them. I had to give a descrption to the police, which took nearly two hours. I'd like to think I fall into the "Brilliant neighbour" category, but I'm not sure. My neighbour is 77, suffering from Dementia and has no contact with her family. She has sort of made me the person she comes to with any problems, including collapsing on my garden path twice. They were not fun trips to the hospital
I happen to do a very good tantrum, I am especially good at stomping ;) I'm glad the image made you smile.
An idea came to me yesterday, I have a friend with fibromyalgia and he uses a special aromatherapy blend to help. Could you get access to that I wonder?
I hope that your arm feels better very soon and I wish I lived closer and could help make some order out of the chaos and kick a few bottoms into gear. I have 14 year old and 11 year old sons, so have lots of practice on an almost daily basis.
*pours some wine into a tea cup* Hope thats the best of both worlds :)
