Oh Jo4, sorry that you were worried.
I am coping. I am sure that all that is wrong is that I over did it through the week.
I admit I dont feel very well, and could not get behind the steering wheel today. (If I could I would have gone and got twin1 to help with her daughter, and DS to do the garden.!). But it will have to wait until tomorrow.
No need to say sorry, gee I was only concerned how you were as you have a lot to do and put up with without feeling as bad as you did IMHO. Just make sure you take care of yourself!

Morning all, once more into the breech etc etc.
DGD woke around 7am, after taking a long time to go to sleep last night, and destroyng the curtain rail too boot. Another expense to get repaired, and I will need to do something today or she will not sleep at lunchtime/early afternoon. At the moment I would like her to still have a sleep so that I can aswell.!
I do feel a little bit better, certainly no worse which is good.
We have had our breakfast and DGD is watching the video of Secret Garden yet again. I shall have to get her to do something else today. lets hope that my tablets start to kick in, and we can potter around the house etc. Looks like its been raining so I will at least not have to water the garden.! But I really do need to get the weeding done.
Alas the idea of DS coming home and helping me, has really not materialised. He is in Towcester sofa surfing yet again, between his sisters as far as I know. At least thats where he was yesterday.
I hope that i will be feeling well enough to drive and collect him later. If the sun comes out perhaps he will cut the lawns for me. Well I can but hope anyway.
I didnt get much sewing done yesterday. Hardly anything of worth anyway. But perhaps I can do a little bit today too. Every little bit will eventually add up. See I am trying to be positive.!
BF has text, he is going sailing today. So I will not see him today either. Pity I thought he might have popped over for the day. Stupid me.
Right this is not keeping me positive.
At all times i must try to remain positive.
Time to potter in the kitchen and clear up last nights pots and pans, now I have some hot water. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Apparently gardening is one chore where there is usually no shortage of volunteers. I am not allowed to use my support budget for gardening for this reason. Again, the Adult Disability team at SS should be able to provide details. If you don't want to contact them directly speak with the Health Visitor or HomeStart as they may be able to access the info for you. Think how nice it would be to know that you don't have to think about how you're going to mow the lawn. I really do think you should put some of what little time and energy you have into finding ways to reduce the burden on you.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Hi Mooloo
Could you post the make and model of the DVD as someone might have a spare remote lying around?

Hi Mooloo, just a thought, ASDA have DVD players in for less than £20 if you can't find your other one or get it working. xxx0

Gosh, what lovely people you all are.
I found the DVD player under the table at the back of the old sky box (that doesnt work) but I have decided to blow the budget and have a new Sky installed later this week. We dont have many luxuries and decided that thats one that we will make better use of now that I am more housebound then previously. Having Said that, I am able to drive again, and so will be able to go out again.
Its a Wharfdale.DVD3210HDMI. was one of the twins, (hence the disappearance of the remote control.,)
DS said that all I need is to use the scarpe lead from the back of the Video into the TV for it, and it should be good to go. so I will give it a try later today. He is currently waking up after DGD poked him in the face! oops.
I am feeling alot better today, thank goodness. But I will make sure I am not driving everyone everyday this week for a change. Bus routes have been supplied to those that need it. (although from the village I will have to drop DS and collect him later being nothing leaving here except the once a week to Banbury that I have seen!). Although to be fair I believe there is now a bus through the village in the mornings and evenings but I dont know where its going to at the moment. Think its a new services from a small company. So need to investigate.
Right I better get moving. Having just said all that, I am taking my friend to Milton Keynes Hospital this morning, as their are no buses early enough for her appointment. (or on route). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Looks like THIS is what you need
I've seen this company recommended on DVDreviewer and the like so, though I've not used them myself, it seems they are legit.
Re the numb arm etc, this has been nagging me. My dad complained of similar symptoms on and off for several months - turned out he was having TIAs. That was 10 years ago and, following treatment, he's still going strong (75 this year), but he had put it down to leaning on his desk at a funny angle. I'm not trying to make you worry but it's worth getting it double checked, it may well be linked to existing conditions as you believe but then again it may not.Eat food. Not too much. Long time lurker here. Mooloo, I realise you want to help your friend out but Im sure she wouldnt want you to put your own health at risk doing extra driving for her.
Is there anyone else who could take her if this is a regular thing. I know that St Johns Ambulance provide transport to hospital for people undergoing treatment (eg chemo). Or next time could she phone up and try and re-arrange the appointment if she is really stuck.
Take care and look after yourself0 -
