Yes I shall have to buy another one. The one I had on the door we put on the bedroom door, as she is now in a bed. Cannot have her getting down the stairs. or falling down the stairs! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Do you have sure start in your area? ours fits gates for free.0

Am I wonderful? How lovely of you to say so
Like you I lurch from one crisis to the next wondering when it will all stop being such hard work. Oh for a year off - I can but dream.
Ring SureStart, they should have someone who deals with 'family welfare' (not entirely sure of title). They might be able to come up with ideas and resources that we haven't thought of.
Anchor Staying Put might be a useful one to investigate, they will do small maintenance type jobs around the house free of charge e.g. changing tap washers, putting up mirrors.
And give the toilet roll a good squeeze, it makes it more difficult to unrollEat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Must admit I had squashed the loo roll, but obviously not enough!
Re the other< not sure I am old enough to qualify, I am only 48! But that was just a very quick glance at it.
Its 8,.30 and I havent even managed to cook my tea yet.
Been a strange and long day. Better check my chips!
Back later, if I am not exhausted by then, as am really on the edge of it at the moment. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I never did get back obviously. I have spent the evening listening to an audio book about Think and Grow Rich. Ha ha. Its an american book that is linked on one of those threads about increasing your income!. Before I knew it it was nearly midnight! Oops. so I am bit tired this morning.
I have had an apology from twin2, as I think I said.
In the afternoon I had had a phone call from the Social Worker asking me to help in getting twin2 to the Family centre this morning. I did say that I would do it today, but that normally on a Tuesday I have other plans and so they will have to work it out. They apparantly will not supply twin2 with transport. (Yet they did fund a taxi for her and her previous BF to get to the parenting classes last year?) They have said they will give her the bus money, but of course she hasnt got it in the first place to get there. so for the boys sake I said I would do it. However then after I had agreed that I was told that I was not allowed to see the boys. So I am expected to hang around in the middle of nowhere for an hour while she sees the boys.
This meant problems with DGD. I have to leave here at 9am. To collect twin2 for 9.30. Drive her, for her meeting 10.30-11.30, drive her back, so it would mean that i am not home much before 1pm. DGD cannot be expected to sit in the car for all that time!.
My son didnt come home when he was supposed to and we ended up rowing yesterday. He is doing someone elses garden etc, but not willing to do things for me.
Finally we have had to compromise, Twin1 and the BF of twin2 will both look after DGD while I go and take twin2 to her meeting. Not ideal but technically it means that DGD is not left alone with her mum for longer then a few hours, so the health visitor who puts the spanner in the works cannot have a go.
I then thought that if this has to be a regular, (there is no direct transport to this place), then why cannot the SS fund DGD going into a nursery or playgroup for the morning! Lets face it, its their fault that this has to all happen in the first place and they cannot expect DGD to be in the car all that time and not even get to see her cousins.
Then I also got told that the father of DGS1 is now allowed access on the Thursday to DGS1 on his own, so that also means that I loose my place on a Thursday. ! THen I also got told that I will have to wait for them to work out when I can actually see the boys. As DGS2 will not be there as its not his father!.
Spitting feathers is the word I can say to discribe the way I am feeling.
It was lovely to see Molly yesterday. We chatted for about 3 hours!.
Lets hope that we can both find a peaceful way to sort our lives out, and be more incontrol of the events around us.!
The rain will save me from watering the garden, but I will still need to get out there later and weed. There is still a large area not developed at all, and the weeds by the front door are waste high, on the opposite side of the door to the lawn. !! Dont see it as we dont use the front door!. Mmmm must remember that. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Yes it was lovely to catchup. DGD is growing and changing everytime I see her and is a real credit to you. I hope today goes ok. Its such a a long way for you to drive xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Tomorrow I get some respite while Twin1 is here for the day. cant wait!.
DGD is getting very big, she is a little girl now, not a baby!. Time has gone so fast. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
