Well the landlord has just given me a tin of something to use to get rid of the woodworm in the bathroom. So no excuse not to finish all the washing and get it out of the way. I may need to call for help, as briefly reading it, I may have to lift the flooring in there as well.
 I do hope that's the landlord you'll be calling for help! I know it's a long time since I rented, and last time we were (briefly) renting we would probably have done anything like this which needed doing for the landlady, but a) I can't see how you're in a position to do this, and b) I can't see that it is your responsibility to do this, and c) if the landlord wants this done, HE NEEDS TO DO IT! It is after all his property.

Really dont feel like running around after the kids today, but I better not let them down. Need to get a few things sorted and over and done with.

You're slipping back into that "guilt" mode of thinking again hun. How many times have they let YOU down? ;)

I know it's tough, especially as the system appears to have failed them yet again!!! I honestly don't know what I'd do in your shoes so I'm not in a position to criticise as I'd probably do the same as you. I really don't know what to suggest on that front as I don't have much experience dealing with social services, although I know there are other posters here that have so hopefully they'll be able to help on that score.

I'm pleased to see you put your foot down during the latter half of this week though and have taken a break this weekend :T

Also, I agree with Savvy_Sue and it's you landlord's job to deal with the woodworm in the bathroom, not yours! If you were to injure yourself trying to lift floorboards, or even worse damage HIS property, you wouldn't be covered under any insurance and he could even sue you for damage!

I know that's an extreme scenario but why leave yourself open to risk, especially with all the stuff you already have to deal with. It really is HIS responsibility to maintain/repair fixtures and fittings and anything structural in the house.

i would also say that its not your problem to deal with wood worm (and speaking as someone who has wood worm in the house i would say that you'r on a loser trying to get rid of them anyway, its tricky) (just read erratas post and yes i agree they will be in the joists as well if they are established , i have had new floor and joists in bathroom and toilet, but the house is mine not rented, it should not be your problem at all)

would it not be a good idea to find a launderette to do some washing? i am wondering how high your electric bill is rising , at least at the launderette you are paying to wash and dry as you do it and not running up your home bill (i cannot afford a tumble dryer , i believe they are expensive to run but its hard to get stuff dried i know)

From experience, if the woodworm is in the floorboards it will also be in the floor joists. I don't know how much wooden furniture you have; you may need to research what precautionary measures you need to take to protect it from infestation.
I agree with chameleon that you're slipping back a bit. Your posts since you came back from holiday a few days ago have demonstrated that the Bank of Mum, Mum's Taxi Service, and Mum's Laundry are all very busy.
On a more positive note ;) How did your son's job interview go, hope it was successful.

DS has not heard, so I am not sure that that is very good news for him. (He rang me asking if he had had a call earlier.). He is coming back home tonight afterall. So I wont be all on my own all weekend anyway.
I have done all of twin1's washing. Now that its up to date. (Well apart from what shes used so far ) thats me out of the loop. They will have to arrange with all the other residents in the block, to get a representative to go to the council offices and get the special tokens the laundry uses, and the electric meters use.
At least the ones that they are friendly with. They could take it in turns, and then only one bus fare would be needed instead of everyone going from all 16 rooms.
I will suggest it, and leave them too it.
I rang Biggest of Mooloo and asked her if she is still coming to see me to bring me some throat sweets, as I have a sore throat and a cough. Save me precious petrol to just get that.
I am now doing my washing. But its a better day so far, so it will be hung out.
I havent managed to keep on top of the electric readings. Which is naughty of me. So now that I think about it. I better go and read it now.!

Ask the twins for the money they would have spent on tokens for their washing and didn't ! You're in no financial state to subsidise them.
Perhaps no news is good news for DS ? What did they say to him about how they would let him know if he was succesful ?

If I have read it correctly I have used £58 worth of electric since the last time the meter was read on the 4/6/09, and the last bill was received. So about £1.38 a day! The tumble dryer is going to be unplugged NOW. I will have to learn to hang as much out as possible. I was just thinking that as there is only weeds in the greenhouse at the moment, if its raining I could put a clothes airer out there and the washing would probably dry. (There is not really any room in the cottage for dryers.).
Time to do all that thinking out of the box!!!

I shall ask them to give me some extra when they get thier funds sorted out. They already owe me for shopping. I shall remind them even if it has to be paid back in installments.
DS was supposed to get a phone call on Friday so he could start on Monday if he got the job. So its not looking very good.
When I rang his Dad, he didnt know. He was going on Holiday to Cromer. Lucky him, considering he hasnt paid up his maintenance, or the promised money for DS's bike. Which is why I am grounded at home this weekend. No funds to re fill petrol tank, as I need to TAX the car, by end of month, and insure and Mot it by mid August. Which is not looking likely at the moment.

I have to thank you all for keeping me on the straight and narrow, and not going all soft on the kids!. I am doing my best to not feel guilty, but I suppose thats being a mum I suppose.
I will get harder. Or is that stronger?
Now I am going to re read some of the tips on this site about making logs out of paper, check if the Ebay has any more bargains, and or if anyone has answered my appeal on Freecycle. Back in a bit, as being on my own, this is my haunt!.
