Right, I am not sure where the afternoon went. (Snoozed in the arm chair me thinks!). DS is not coming home until about 10pm tonight. Apparantly he has eaten so I dont need to cater for him. (That will save a few pennies). Twin1's BF is bringing him home later, told me not to worry.
Ex husband rang to speak to DS, wants to take him to Santa Pod this weekend, however when I mentioned it he said he cant as he has commitments with Judo and Band practise. !! I am not going to be the barer of these messages back as EX and I are not the best of friends. I am fed up of him not paying towards the moped as he had promised, or the maintenance as mentioned before.! But he can afford to go to Santa pod!! mmmmmm Mind you as my BF is taking me to Prague in two weeks, he could say the same.!

By the way, sorted out the Council Tax for Oxford, but not the housing benefit. Different department. But as I was asleep when she rang me back I forgot to ask to be transferred. But I think I will need to write to them anyway.

I have planted some more Onions that BF gave me. But the weeds are taking over the garden. DS is supposed to help me but alas he is not, mostly as he is never really here!. I have some lettuces that need to go in. The slugs are eating the cabbages though!.
My sweet peas are very dismall compared to my BF's. Infact I think I need to water even more as all his stuff is much further on then mine!.
It is the first time in many a year since I had anything in a garden except bushes, so I suppose it will take me a while to get into the swing of it.
Of course it also depends on my arm and if it will play th game with me!.

I spent a bit more then I should have today, as I went into three different supermarkets for things. Bought a load of Whoopsied food, and have frozen it all. The freezer is still pretty empty so I need to get some bargains in there.
I am being a bit naughty as I know that my money is going to be cut dramatically in September, so I want to help myself along the way, with a good stock of foods etc so that I can ease into the lesser funds.
I got my Tax Credit letter today, and last year I earned £11,173.00 and had tax credits on top.
This year, the predicted income is £3,354.00 with only £1,129.24 tax credits due. Ending in August. EEK EEK EEK
I also spent about £15 in the charity shop. Bought some things off of the £1 rail, including a pair of Monsoon casual trousers.! But I picked up a few things that are not my size but that I want the fabric from. I intend to make some cushion covers out of them!.
I bumped into my best friend in the charity shop, and she asked if I wanted to go for a drink somewhere, so we nipped into a local pub, she bought me a drink, and we had a good chat. Dicided to have a late lunch as it was 2.30 and had a Huge Burger in a bun with chips, for £1.95 each. So I only spent that in there.
I am now looking at ordering some basics from Approved foods to keep the under stairs store full. DS. loves the Jellys that are normally about 55p or so each, ready made ones, and last time I got them from there for about £1.20 for 12!!
I still intend for the food stuffs all to come out of my July grocery challenge.! So I really will have to be careful but I am hopeful that with the cupboards well stocked and with the help I get on here with recipies I will be OK> If the garden comes up with the lettuce, cabbage, carrots and onions then that will help.
The tomatoes and aubergines died in the greenhouse when I was away for our anniversary. It was too hot and DS wasnt around to water them for me.
I will have to bribe him to water when I am in Prague next month.

I have just spent £20 on ebay on cushion pads. Odd number, 23? being delivered soon. I plan to make covers for them, using the clothes etc that I have bought form the charity shop. Biggest of Mooloo wants some funky cushions for her flat, and I thought that I could also make some to use as gifts and or even sell them at some stage.
I have to be up early tomorrow. Taking the girls/babies/and one BF into Northampton, to the job centre. While they are there I will rummage around I suppose. I dont plan to take much cash with me. so I dont overspend anymore!. Been an expensive day with my "bargains" today.
Now I need to make good use of all of the things that I have bought, be it the whoopsies in the supermarket, or the clothes from the charity shop.
Our Willen Hospice shop is now selling new Habadashery, so that will help with the odd sewing things for me.

Of course lots of things can affect this: which way your gardens face, whether his is more sheltered from the wind than yours, what sort of soil you each have. So don't get too down on the comparison front.

You know there is a green-fingered board here too, don't you? They're bound to know how to deter slugs and stuff.

I hadnt seen the green fingered thread on here. There is just so much on here it is amazing!. I will do a search and have a look.
Its raining here at the moment, although its dark and wet its still warm.

Only took one twin and baby with her BF to the jobcentre, as twin1 and her baby were still asleep when I got there. (WIll have to take her on Monday now!).
The benefits are going to take until the 15th July for them!! They had not realised that it would be so long. So Muggings here has lent them £45.00 in Food.
What I did was a menu planish, for things they can manage to cook, and nappies for baby. The BF has taken over the finances (thank goodness), and he came around Mr T with me while baby was asleep in car, and mother probably).
I showed him the difference in Value lines etc, and he talked about what he has cooked/not cooked, what he can do. It seems like he is the one that does the shopping, cooking and cleaning!! Lucky Twin2. Her 2nd baby is due 3rd February.!

He has agreed that he will return the money to me on the 15th when they get thier money. He has also agreed that in future they will have to pay me towards the petrol, while I still have the car on the road. Everyone has been warned that I may not manage to keep the car much longer.

When I got home DS had gone out. Leaving a tip behind him.!! I got him on the phone and he said "sorry". He will not be home now until tomorrow afternoon.
Its like passing ships in the night!
Its time for me to have a rest now I am home. The driving really takes it out of me. And today there was a lot of walking, which I struggled with by the time I went around Mr T!.
My BF is coming to see me tomorrow PM. so I have 24 hours to rest/recouperate and hopefully start to make some of those Cushion covers!. The one I want to make first is a Denim one with a disney embroidery on one side. (Disney store shirt purchased for £1).

    WHY?

If she's not capable of getting herself there, without your help, is there no support at the hostel? Does she not have a Social Worker or support worker who can help her get her rear end into gear?

Hi Mooloo have you looked on freecycle. I know there is one for Northampton. Lots of car booters go on the site. Its one way of making a little money or replacing things you need.

I suppose that I am still very soft.
I am not sure who is their social worker now.
I have received my housing benefit cheque so I need to go into town anyway. Dont have a local Coop bank, and if I pay it into the Post Office, it takes over a week to get to the account.
I will be able to reduce the amount of driving around now, as I finally scraped up the funds to insure DS's moped. (No thanks to his Dad who was supposed to put £150 towards it!). He was road legal yesterday, just after midnight.
A teenager who I have to make get up before mid day was up and out around 8am! on Sunday!!!
I managed to make the cushion cover I planned, although it was Sunday afternoon when I managed to do it. I was talking to BF about how I was going to do it, then as he was lurking on the laptop, I just sat down and did it. I am not sure how long it took, but not long. If I could make a couple of covers a day, It will get me back into the swing of sewing. Also he reckons I should find a way of Selling them!. He reckoned the one I did was too good to give to Biggest of Mooloo's. He said make her pay you for it!!
Now I better get dressed and make a move!.
