Have subscribed to this thread, and it has taken me nearly a week to get to the last page, reading an hour here and there.

Just wanted to add my support to you too, you are doing an amazing job for your children, and just hope that you get all the help that you need.

Well the weekend is over, and we are on the last day (I hope) waiting to hear from the Social Services what will happen next with my granddaughter. It seems to have gone quiet at twin2's. DGS1 was away for the weekend with his other grandparents. I am going to go over this afternoon to see them. The I can also do some shopping in the Mr T there.
My pampering evening meant that I managed to do my hair, and have a bit of a soak in the bath. I really must get a better fitting plug though, as it leaks and the bath gets lower and lower. I cannot top it up as the tank is very small and runs out of hot water. But as I dont normally have many baths, mostly showers, its not an emergency.
did I tell you that Warm front sent someone to survey, for the work they said they would do (in August last year), and as there are no ventilation vents in the walls they will not draught proof the front and back doors, becuase I have a real fire, and could get carbondioxide poisoning! So the draughts are going to have to be left! Not so good. Also then he said that they would not insert a loft hatch and insulate the loft afterall, unless the landlord will agree to them not being responsible if it damages the cieling, as its so old it could be lathe and plaster etc up there.! So I am living in a cottage that is leaking energy like a sieve and I cannot get the help to make it more eco friendly, or warmer to live in etc etc.?
I had the next wood delivery, it came on Saturday morning. My BF came over from Oxford just in time to be my labourer and he put it all away for me. He was a little bit stunned at howmuch it is, and how much of a sweat he had on, and his back ached when he had finished! To think that the last two times I had to do it myself, with my problems, made him really think! He finally realised that it was an achievement, and that it was no wonder that I was crying when I had to do it!

I cooked him a nice breakfast/early lunch for his troubles. Then I had to go and collect DGD from Biggest of Mooloo's.
She has come back from her Aunty with 3 pairs of shoes/boots!!! so she has a party pair, Or a traditional type of shoe, for wearing with dresses. then some black boots, and some walking boot type shoes!! Aptly she came home in a t/shirt (under her jumper) saying Spoilt rotten on it!
My BF was very good with her, played with her a lot, and helped me keep her amused. He was very good at incouraging her to go on the Potty and we had a few successes. I have continued with the same this morning.
Tomorrow I am back at the doctors, and we are waiting for the Social Services to get the Assessment results for Twin1. Its also the day I usually collect her and bring her home for a couple of nights, to be with her daughter. I am nervous for the results! Hoping for the best, and fearing the worst. I know that I may not get the results I hope tomorrow. As if the Social worker is only getting the results fo the assessment tomorrow, then they may have to read it, and then make the next plans from there. I fear that Twin1 is expecting a miracle telling her that she can have DGD back tomorrow. In reality I think it will be an arrangement for a meeting, and then a protection plan put in place, etc which i think will take even more time.

    Still no news about funding.
Still not had the electric bill after they changed the meter? Dreading that one.
DS has been intouch with the odd phonecall and the odd text. He has not been able to get any benefits over in Oxford, and is looking for work. I hope that he finds something soon, or that he realises that its not all roses there, and wants to come home. I miss him.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • for goodness sake don't give ds any money , not any at all
he's made his bed etc and sometimes you have to be hard (not easy i know) have your excuses lined up ready for if he comes home and asks for a loan

I dont have any spare money to give DS! Thats for sure. If he does come home he will have to go back to college, and get EMA, its £30 a week. Not much but he only has to go for about 12 hours a week. So he can jolly well go. He has a moped so he can take himself now/if the weather is better.
(Mind you he knows where to get free food in Oxford! as the ex BF of twin2 lived that way when we were there, (Unfortunately as he spent his money on drugs in those days!). so i know that if push comes to shove he will not starve!!! not the best thing in the world to know. But there you go.

hello and welcome. Thanks for the links you sent in your PM. All welcome. Tried to reply but your PM box is full!
DGD is watching her favourite tv programme. So I am mooching on here.
We really need to get the wood in and get the fire lit. Have the fan heater on at the moment, and thats really not good for the already large electric bill that I am expecting soon:eek:

Thats just given me the kick up the bum I need to go and get the wood in. Writing it down shows me that I know i must not use the fan heater anymore!!:o

Fire is hopefully lit. But I dont have any kindling chopped up, so have used firelighters and some of the smaller logs. Not sure if they will take or not.
It was an effort to bring the basket of wood in. Next time I may have to try two journeys, and off load the wood somewhere in the house first. Not sure where though, as the room we are using is tiny and full of stuff already.
I really do need to declutter! You wouldnt believe how much clutter I have accumalated, and I have only been living here for 8 months!!

I have been making my shopping list for this afternoon. Will have to be careful and stick to it for once. Last time I went shopping I spent about £30 when I had only gone in originally for nappies and milk!!
Problem is if I see good whoopsies then I also put them in the basket!
Will have DGD with me, so thats also a bit of a temptation to get things I didnt plan on. I remember now why I went shopping without my children and had Granny and Grandad to babysit them!.

  • Hi Mooloo

Just a thought about the wood - just try putting a post on your freecycle - I have had wood/kindling and manure from there - and they delivered it!!! I just gave them a little thank you note and a little box of chocs to say thank you.

    You just might get lucky.

    Hi Mooloo,
Hope you hear soon regarding your DGD. Thinking about you today and keeping my fingers and toes crossed xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Good luck for today Mooloo. Mind you I fear we may have lost her to the OS Daily thread! (Sorry can't find "grin" smilie)
