Hello everybody ...
I'm pretty sure I am about to make my largest ever PAD - wait for it, here it comes.... £269.37 tutoring money to get chucked onto the CC. Not as huge as what some people have done but I'm pretty chuffed with it! I'm still working my way through this marking and really must get back to it so I'll catch up when I get a chance.

On the HV and feeding front, I think it really doesn't matter what baby you have, unless they are a certain weight/height etc you get it in the neck. I was always in trouble, our DD was 7lb 12 baby and loved her milk. GP advised us to put her on cow's milk at 6 months as she was going through 9 bottles a day (please note 18 and NO filings!!!) I then got into trouble for feeding her too much as she was too heavy for her age...............doh!!!!! she was also alot taller than others her age as well..................they always dismissed that. We have had to go to the hospital since she was about 4 cos of epilepsy and every bloomin 3 months .............height......weight. Magazines haven't given her a complex the bl**dy hospital have!!!!!
HV's, mine didn't have kids either and was so wrapped up in her weight and how I was such a bad mother she failed to notice that DD was virtually blind in 1 eye, so thay are a load of cw*p and I think I told her to come back when she had kids of her own then I may consider giving her the benefit of my advice!!!!!!!!
Angelic, enjoy your wee man and go with the flow, to me ds children/adults are God's Angels on Earth as they have such beautiful sunny faces and smiles, worth all the money in the world xxDebt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -

Bit late today as I had a long soak in the bath - a nice treat but all the time I was in the bath I was playing the financial what if game :rolleyes:angelicmary85 wrote: »No there's nothing 'wrong' with him! He's surprised all the medical staff that he's come across so far as he's not your 'typical' ds baby. I only knew staright after he was born that he had it because he was blue and had a squashed face, the midwives didn't pick up on it!
He's a real wee wriggler and has been rolling onto his side for a couple of weeks now, he doesn't do it very often though! He also holds his head up for a few seconds and I've got to fight with him to get him wrapped up, he's a strong wee lad! I don't have any concerns about his muscle tone.
Don't get me wrong, I was really upset that he was born with downs but after a couple of days I was over it, instinct kicks in but there just seems to be a stigma around kids that aren't in keeping with what you would expect to give birth to (I know you don't like the word 'normal' so tried not to use it)
The upsetting thing is, if I hadn't had one of those babies that don't 'fit in' then I never would have realised that their birth isn't really a celebration, it's more like hassle and extra paperwork for people which wasn't a nice experience for me and I'm sure it wasn't for other parents because it seems like I need to isolate him to keep him from being stared at.
I'm glad you're now getting Fraser the help that he deserves, all kids should be given the same chances in life regardless of what they have been born with or without because when it boils down to it, they're all just babies...God I can't half rant when I get started! How's the savings for Fraser's new table going?
Hat's off - you're doing a brilliant job :Tfrasersmum123 wrote: »Angelic - you sound like your doing a fabby job, and I wish I had your confidence at being a parent. I second guess myself about everything and end up worrying about worrying. The bead table fund is going well, I have about £70 which is a third of the way
Have you tried Hungry Baby milk for your DS?
Same to you Frasersmum! Second guessing means you really care (and I worry about worrying too - you're not alone!) You're a great parent doing a very difficult job - give yourself a pat on the back! (and a glass of wine - cocktail hour is about to begin!!!:D) Take Care x0
