Just £1.03 for me today to the evil overdraft.
Angelic - Good on you for not taking any notice of the stupid moo i often wonder if these people actually have children of there own? You should have seen the look on my HV face when she found out that i was giving both my babies one spoon of baby rice a day from 6 weeks old, she harped on about how i was going to kill them etc but after 6 weeks of trying to fill both of them, 9oz bottles every 1 and a half hours i was ready for some sleep. Seen as they are now a very fit 10 and 8 and still act like bottomless pits I'd say she was talking twaddle!
Cashless - well done on clearing a card i cant wait to be able to say the same:T

Great news on the job start date sashybo :D Wouldn't worry too much about handing your notice in. There isn't a great deal the Company can do unless they want to take you to court for breach of contract but it takes so long and not usually worth them chasing. I'm sure if you catch up with your manager and talk it through - of course they'll be disappointed you're leaving them and they're going to be using a valuable member of the team ;) but I'm sure they'll be OK :D You could always negotiate a leave and start date if things get tricky perhaps postponing it by a week with your new employer but don't worry too much :D (Maybe tell them just before hometime tomorrow... ;))

We have 3 month notice period in our place so we always have difficulty with getting people to work such a long notice period. I've been leaving since January!! :rotfl: 7 weeks tomorrow to go... :j

Exciting news on the cat lair!

    Hope all goes OKio :D
    xx

Thanks Danko, it went ok and HR didn't toast me - they did however phone my manager to tell her even though they knew I hadn't had a chance to speak with her yet. She will be funny with me now cos she will be annoyed I didn't tell her first.

They also said something about stopping my pay next week. We get paid on the 10th for the whole month (10 days in arrears, 20 in advance). So not sure when/what I will be getting paid - will need to venture into the Dragon Lair again to ask!

Funnily enough I'm feeling a bit sad about leaving as although I don't like the job, I like the people I work with and they are sad that I'm leaving too. They looked like this :( when I said I'd handed my notice in. I've been there for three years so it's going to be weird not working there anymore.

A three month notice period!

Anyway my pad for today is 50p to Barclaycard.

    Hi All,

Haven't made a pad since beginning of last month - need to do more this month as have been made redundant.

So Yesterday made a pad of £70 along with noramal payment of £180 to Provident. With two months to go before end of contract I'm hoping to pay this off as its my biggest outgoing besides mortgage.

As it is already 3rd of the month, I doubt they will be able to change your pay now. Most payroll providers have a cut off date for changes, usually mid way through the payment month. So, in your case this was likely to be early last week.

However, it does differ from company to company. I would ask them if it is possible to receive the full month's salary this month, as planned, with a corrected payslip next month showing what should be returned. This should then tide you over until you receive your first pay from the new company.

Don't forget, any earned but unused holiday should also be added to your final payslip, along with overtime etc etc

Also, I'm not sure that they can change your pay without giving a full month's notice so check your contract.

Sorry, gotta run again, but make sure you talk to them about the options here.
