A Payment A Day Part 4

It's crazy. I am on target for my highest earning month ever, yet I'm totally skint. The clue is in how much I'm owed. If the money I'm owed was in my bank account right now, I would be able to cover every penny that will be going out in the first week of the month without even relying on my reduced overdraft.
I'm a bit peeved because I am trying to shift away from Abbey gradually and start using my Co-op business account more. However, due to the depositing methods, it takes longer to clear at the Co-op. My cashflow problem coupled with the pending reduced overdraft is forcing me to do more with Abbey than I would wish.
Today, I even targetted work where people are usually in and often pay cash just so I would have something to bank. I slogged away and did about £250s worth. Of course most of them were out as the weather was so nice. So much for that plan.
Plan B is that I'm going out with friends on Saturday evening for a curry. I will try to pay by credit card and get the cash out of them. Much cheaper than credit card at the hole in the wall. It means that I can defer part of the problem till early August but I anticipate being paid for a load of work by then.
Not very MSE but hey, a guy's got to live.
that used to be one of my tricks too! putting a bill on cc and getting the cash from mates!! .. now just don't go out!!
Know what you mean about the co-op.. they used to have so many 'handybanks' but not now, however they are taking over Britania building society .. whichwill be useful for me .. will be able to pay cash in without a parking fee.. hope there will be one near you too.
OH is self employed too, and when you really need somebody to pay cash on the day you can bet your last penny they don't!
But.. you will reap the rewards of your labours I'm sure!
Keep the faith...

Paul I have just done a version of Plan BI know. I have very obligingly paid for someones air ticket on my CC and they are giving me a cheque. As my June statement is now out this means anything I put on my card now will not have to be paid for until 18 Aug which is after my payday of 31st July and the money I get now will go towards my card payment in July which will reduce my creep into overdraft. Not good but better than paying overdraft interest I am trying to use any tactic to avoid paying overdraft interest which I haven't used for 6 months but is definitely looking a possibility next month:eek: A girl has gotta do what a girl has gotta do:o
