Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Cocker!! I have no financial association with him at all, no joint account and the mortgage is solely in his name. (That was deliberate on my part as I didn't want my debt problem to affect him). Any idea how I can make a complaint to the Information Commissioner and proceed with the disassociation?

I wish I could tell him and maybe I will when I've made some progress with my DMP. I started on 1 June with a 2014 DFD:eek:, but I am hopeful to be able to negotiate a few F&F settlements with the smaller amounts!!:A

I've been searching for a link to the IC, but cant find one!:o Try googleing them and you should be directed to their website.

Strange that if you have no financial link to him, that he has been declined. Usually defaults registered at an address make no difference to a credit check if there is no financial link between the defaulter and the applicant. Maybe it is just because you are married and therefore have the same surname?

It is possible that he just failed their credit scoring system and they just used the default as an excuse. But they still shouldn't have disclosed it.

    Cocker:)

    Hellooo everyone

I've been struggling the last few days.. :wall:

Actually, I think it might just be PMTeasey.. ;) .. haha
But either way.. I'm getting soooo frustrated at not having any real responses to my DMP (nearly a month since I first sent my letters/offers) .. I am still going to carry on paying them the DMP offers I made... But its driving me nuts that most of my creditors dont seem to have even read my letters. (even tho they cashed the token payments) .. When I speak to them on the phone they have no idea what I am talking about.. other than the fact I have missed a months payment.:mad:

Also, I was thinking of how MUCH I must have been living beyond my means with my credit cards.. Because now I do have a proper budget.. (and its pretty tight) .. I can see how MUCH I was overspending before.. and flippn hell.. it must have been a lot!.. (waayyy) more over budget than I thought. :wall:

Next time I speak to any of them on the phone.. (and tell them AGAIN of my DMP) .. I am going to ask them for an address to send my letter/SOA to.. and send them again. Hoping the right people might actually read the flamin things..
(a few of them on the phone, have asked me to go over my SOA with them.. But I would rather send it as a letter)

I'm really struggling today.. crazy really.. I have the week off work.. the sun is shining the birdies are tweeting.. and I feel !!!! .. :o

Maybe the postie will bring some good/bad news.. just SOMETHING would be good. ;)

Hi Eupho, dont get too disheartend, I have read loads that some creditors never do acknowledge your DMP, just keep going as though they have accepted and whenever they ring, start saying i am on a DMP and hang up, they will soon get the message. Have you had any luck with your CCA yet? keep your chin up hun you're doing all that you can do. xx

We're now into month 5 of our dmp with CCCS and so far so good.

We have 5 creditors of which 4 accepted our offer and stopped interest and charges. Halifax CC did charge us in the first month, but we called them and they refunded the interest and the charges.

    Hi Em
Glad to hear your DMP is going well so far. :jNot surprised about Northern Rock though, they have a bad reputation for being awkward.

Just to ask, re above, is it really that easy to get the interest and charges removed? 6 out of 7 of my creditors are still whacking on the interest and late charges. What did you say when you rang them?

    Many thanks for your help

    Hi Eupho

We never heard from a few of ours for a good couple of months. Spoke to CCCS who told me that the creditors don't rush to send acceptance letters as they do with declines.

Hopefully "no news is good news"?

It certainly was with Halifax CC. They agreed straight away to the offer CCCS were making (it was only £2 less than minimum payment), but the following month added charges and interest. We just phoned and quoted our acceptance letter and asked if they would stop interest/charges and they said the charges had automatically been put on but they would refund them and stop anymore. I was a little sceptical, but 48hrs later all had been refunded and we haven't had any since.

It's worth a try if you creditors have agreed to your offer.

Just a little update about my reduced DMP payment for this month (been on DMP 2 years).....

Rang mint credit card - they didn't want a reason, they said as long as they get some sort of payment from CCCS then it is fine - and all should carry on after that with no problem. So yeah - they really don't care ;)

Got mint loans and cl finance to ring. Secure messaged First direct as they were the stroppy ones previously

Eupho - As for hearing with acceptance from the DMP - some took 3 months to accept. Some never told me - some just stopped interest and I took that as an ok. For one, I only found out after getting my credit report and it being marked with "arrangement to pay" and me assuming that meant they accepted :o
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

    Hellooo Leeeese

Thankyou for that  ... I feel a bit better now.. I just nipped into town for some *Retail Therapy* on a budget.. :rotfl:

I used my Boots advantage points to buy some nice new shampoo/Conditioner (for me).. an eye-liner & blusher for my daughter. .. and a WHSmith voucher I had to buy one of my boys a book he wanted and the other a fat bar of chocolate and a pack of batteries for his MP3 player.

Ohh how different it is without the plastic.. haha!

I even did it FAST and dipped out on paying for parking.. :rotfl::T

    Thankyou ;) xx
