Hello everyone. (On the phone today so no smileys. Pretend I'm waving.)
I applied for a Nat West step account as it isn't credit scored and got referred because it's credit scored. (Confused) However, it got accepted eventually. This month's wages will still go into my Lloyds account, which only has a small overdraft, as I didn't really want a pay cheque. But I'll have a think about moving it over and adding Lloyds to the plan. If I keep it, though, I also get to keep my debit card and cheque book.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
Hi, in theory you should add the debt to the DMP, but it depends how small the OD is. Providing you have no other debts with Lloyds, then I can't see why you can't keep the existing account?DMP mutual support thread No: 2430

I received a letter today from CCCS telling me that Lloyds have refused to accept my offer of a token payment of £10 due to DH being made redundant Wednesday because I need to make a larger offer. (seems since I sent my letter to Lloyds complaining that they were ignoring the fact I have a third party representative they have stopped contacting me and are going through the CCCS)
The letter also says that Lloyds may default the debt and sell it on (wooooo even though they are selling it back to themselves the interest should stop, right?)
Shall I write to Lloyds and ask if they would take pints of my own blood in lieu of payment?0 -
Thanks, ianmak. At £750 it's my 2nd smallest debt. The next and smallest is £550. I will have a good think, though, see how my budget looks.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0

This is another reason I'm resisting adding them if I can. The overdraft is my only debt with them and I should be able to clear it with the savings I make plus any extra cash that comes in. I know they're all supposed to get a pro rata payment too, and that's one of the arguments for adding them to the plan.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
Good afternoon guys, I would put smilies in my posts but for some reason it doesn't put them in when i click on them! if anyone knows the reason why, would be great to know : )
Anyway I did post last night stating that this weekend was going to be debt free, BUT i got a letter this morning from Santander, regarding my Dorrthy Perkins account, it states that they won't accept the reduced payments because there has been recent spending on the account, which yes i must admit i did use the account in April. so just wondering what could i do in this case? the reduced payments are £5 whereas i normaly pay £8, would it be worth me writing them a letter stating that it will be reviewed and is likely i can afford more in a few months (i do get a pay raise in July)?
or can i pay an extra £3 to them or to do this would i have to increase my payments to all creditors?
Your advice as always much appreciated : ) xxDMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0 -
Good evening guys, I've decided to have a debt free weekend, so from the moment I've wrote this, to first thing Monday morning, any talk about debt is banned, no lurking in the forum and not even a thought is going to be given to my debts. I need this after a long, long time it being the only thing on my mind. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend too xx
Thats a great idea :T
I need to do something like that. Mine is stillll spinning in my head (like it used to before I started trying to sort it out).. but now just for different reasons. I Think having some debt free (thinking) weekends is a great idea!Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

eupho - you definately do need to give yourself some time away from it all. i get ot the point where it's on my mind when i lie in bed at night and first thing when i wake up, nothing is worth that much thinking, and what can i gain from it! anyway my debt free weekend is over already, i managed to get through Friday night without giving it a thought then i heard the postman come, so before i'd even got out of bed it was playing on my mind. and then came the letter 'we don't accept your offer' joy! i'm sure it's the same for everyone else, may be we should all have a debt free weekend together : )DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0

And yes, I can see you too.
I've been reading through the thread and can see quite a few of the problems people are still having, whoever they go with. If I had the time and the confidences, I'd probably do it myself too. But at the moment, I'm happy to pay someone else to do it.
Hi I know what you mean by having the confidence, at the moment I'm waiting for statements and hovering over the go button on CCCS website! I know it is up to you and hope you don't mind me saying but reading on this and the previous thread there are lots of people who started out with fee paying companies and have switched to CCCS/Payplan. I am new to this but I also hope you don't mind me saying but It seems a bit strange that your company are working out your expenditure and saying you can afford to pay more, I personally would be a bit wary as you have to stick to this for a long time, are you confident that you can stick to your budget?
I really hope I haven't offended you by saying this just reading through the others who have changed seem really pleased they have, plus it has free'd up more money for them to pay the DMP off quicker.
