Chill Winston! I did see your post Thurs morning at around 2am, a little worse for wear, and I wasn't going to give you a number until I was back online. Please don't expect a number immediately (It's only been 2 days!), you're allowed to post on here without a number!

Leese, I wasn't aware that you'd asked for a number but here you go, both of you.

    Now leave me alone. :D

I tried to sort out my mortgage renewal today, spoke to head office who said they couldn't arrange anything as I had a mark against my address(!!!) (I have a DMP'd overdraft with them, and I panicked, thinking I'd been blacklisted!), and to go into a branch to sort it out.

Turns out it was due to stuff being returned undelivered (Where I live there's an 8, 8a, and an 8b, which can get quite complicated. Anyhoo, it's all sorted, and if I go onto their SVR, my mortgage will drop from 6.5%, down to 2.5% Woop! So that will save me a bit, hoping the BoE rate doesn't creep up. I'd like to add it onto my DMP, but I'm worried that if you rate DID go up, I'd have to ask for the money back...

Phew bet you panicked, and what a drop in interest (at the risk of sounding dumb whats an SVR?) Lets hope the BOE rates stay low for the next 20 years!!!;)

    Morning,

I had the same as you, I will be honest I ignored the calls cos I am a wimp, it took most of them a couple of weeks to cash the token payments at which point my calls seem to be less frequent now. I would imagine even if you do call and explain the calls would continue anyway! if you go on national debt helpline they have a list of template letter you can send to creditors, I am sure one of the letters states to stop ringing you as it is harrassment and to contact you via letter only. So the moral of the story is " ignore the calls " and once your DMP is up and running it should start to be less frequent x[/QUOT

I have had a completely different experience, I have answered all of my calls (when it was convienent ... if you know what I mean) and they all stopped as soon as I had spoken to them, I just told them the CCCS was dealing with my account now, gave them my account number and their phone number and they said they would put my account on hold till they had heard from them. I may have just been lucky but I have 10 creditors and all have stopped calling (for now anyway) , :j
I have now started to ring them and ask if they have accepted the CCCS offer and what will happen regarding the intrest, most have accepted up to now and said the intrest will stop once the default is issued, accept city who will be passing it on and barclaycard, who say they havent heard from the CCCS (bloody liars!!) Havent rang lloyds current account yet, summing up the courage to ring my local branch cause I think I might get more joy from them than a call centre

I know I should phone, and i finished worked early this week to ring NR cos they were threatening a CO on my house if I didn't get in touch, but I bottled it the last minute :D and then I noticed the token payment was cashed so think I will leave it a little longer yet .....gulp but I am doing my own DMP so I cant just say speak to CCCS cos I am the one arranging it :rotfl:you;re so brave, next time they ring me I will speak to them I promise!!! ( forgot to say that they have stopped ringing me now though );)

hi SVR is the lenders standard variable rate, which changes when for instance the bank of england rate changes, at the moment my rate is fixed at 5.99% but when my deal ends, if I dont arrange another fixed rate ( which is highly unlikely as my credit rating is up the swanney at the mo ) then I will drop onto the banks standard rate, which at the moment for my bank is 3.49% so when my deal ends in November i am praying BOE rate hasnt changed x

  • not brave really, I deal with the phone alot at work so i think that makes it easier , try to remember its just a job to them at the end of the phone, its not them personally you owe the money to and in the current climate they are doing this all day long - just waiting till ..o,clock so they can go home!

Good evening guys, I've decided to have a debt free weekend, so from the moment I've wrote this, to first thing Monday morning, any talk about debt is banned, no lurking in the forum and not even a thought is going to be given to my debts. I need this after a long, long time it being the only thing on my mind. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend too xx
