  • Thanks everyone! When I saw the e-mail yesterday morning I actually didn't open it for over 2 hours, I was sure I hadn't got it. My PMA slipped away from me as our little cat died during the night the night before so I just thought, at least if I don't read it I can have a little bit longer of thinking I might have got it! When I did finally open it I was flippin' delighted! :rotfl:I forwarded it to everyone and anyone

I have my induction day on the 5th December 9am-6pm, so at least with that being a Saturday OH doesn't have to get any time off work to watch the kids :T

I think I will give the Visa department a very wide berth :rotfl:
I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.

  • Hello to all fellow DMP'ers
Havent posted for a while has there has nothing to report on re my DMP,will give u a recap:

    11 creditors
    7 accepted
4 being a pain in the a**e(all Natwest)
Around £40k debt-at the rate we are paying of will finish in 2030!?!?

I had to take a pay cut and OH on maternity leave-she finishes that in May(paid-but only SPP) and can have until August off unpaid
We dont really want her going back to work as we want her to stay at home with baby and it may not be worth putting baby into chid care as it is too expensive-she may end up working just to pay nursey-also we have no family local so no free child care
We currently own a one bedroom flat which is getting too small for us so will have to move in the next 6-12 months(if not sooner-just waiting for the property prices to go up to what we paid for it and then sell)-now here lies the problem:
Doubt we will be able to get another mortgage due to the DMP-so was thinking of renting a bigger place for a while and any money we make from the sale of the flat put to one side for a deposit for a later date-and also wanted to sell fast(ish) incase one of the creditors decide to take a charging out on the flat
OH is concerned that if we sell the flat we may never be able to get another mortgage again cos of the DMP...or we could rent the flat out so we still have the mortgage, but still may be a danger of a chargin order at a later date or the problem of not having tenants in there and having to find the mortgage for a month or so and the rent on a new place....

Also have just received a bonus at work of £8.5 k-which was a massive surprise-not to sure either to throw it all at the DMP to get it paid off-or just pay £1k to the DMP and spend around another £1k to get the flat up to scratch to sell and keep the rest as a back up to get us by while the OH is off and we decide if she is to go back to work or not....

If we did sell and put the cash to one side could creditors find out how much we made on the sale and ask for the cash or could we say that we had to pay back a family member who lent us the deposit in the first place??

I am a bit fuzzy in the head at the moment as to what to do,we really need to start making decisions in the new year so any input ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

So sorry to hear about your little cat :(
Great news about your induction, especially being a Saturday, I understand totally about the childcare thing, got the same 'problem' here. It's hard! At least it all looks like it's coming together!

  • Thanks NorthStar and Wayne!

Lola - the little cat had been perfectly fine the day before - but that day she just went off her food, stopped drinking etc. By afternoon she couldn't do anything, even hold her head up so I rushed her to the vet but they said she had eaten poison (probably from a mouse) and there was no hope. They did offer to put her down but we decided to bring her home and just let her go on her favourite cushion, as she was not in any pain. She was only 18 months old

On the more positive side like you say Northstar everything seems to be coming together with the new job. Childcare for me is a nightmare, as my girls will only stay with me or their dad - they just aren't used to anything else. I can't even leave them with their Gran and Grandad because my youngest who's two just won't be parted from me! :rotfl:

I say it's hard on the kids but it's hard on me too I suppose if I'm honest. Ever since my oldest was born (she's 6) I haven't spent any more than a few hours away from them, so I do nothing but worry! This job will be a good chance for me to cut the apron strings a bit! :T

Nothing from the postie today about the DMP, another day passes with silence! No news is good news!

    Awww 18 months....little baby, that's so sad.

Like you, no post today, but they are all waiting for the CCCS and Im still waiting for my council for that figure, then the CCCS can have it, then I will get my Welcome Pack, then the creditors will get official notification of the DMP and payment I suppose.
That's how I think it is going to go! It's just the waiting! But as you say, no news is good news.
The only thing that came today in the post were 3 free Fairy dishwasher tablets, I have been signing up for all sorts of freebies, got my pack of 10 Clipper teabags the other day, it all helps! I do like my freebies! :D
