  • What a massive blow today that the banks won their case. Looks like all those on hold are either not going to get their money back or are going to have to wait some considerable time if the fight is able to go on.

It's a real downer for all those on DMP's who were hoping to get money paid off.

amazing how they keep getting off with it
This ruling comes just after BoE reveals they gave secret billions of tax payers money in secret last year to bail them out on top of what we already knew about
they didn't reveal it at the time to avoid public panic allegedly

    Hi 2spicy,

I must admit I never knew that. I knew that once you had paid a certain amount back (2/3rds or whatever) you was entitled to hand the goods back & walk away without having to pay the rest but I never knew you were entitled to keep them after that amount is paid. If only I had known that earlier.

Hey there. We have only really started looking closer at the Consumer Credit Act, and its suprising what you can get away with.

From what we have read so far, with respect to Motor Vehicles, as long as you have paid 50% of the total value of the agreement as stated at the start, you can walk away if you have kept the vehicle in good order (less admin fees if they choose to levvy). if you have paid 2/3rds, they cannot claim the good back without a court order and you have the right to continue paying for them (should you wish to retain them).
Not sure how this applies to other goods on Credit, but for HP of a motor vehicle, this appears to be the case.
