  • Good morning everyone!

How is everyone? I haven't been on for a few days - with the DMP ticking over there suddenly isn't so much to report on - I guess this is a good thing! I'm not sure if our totals will be coming down or not yet - I have only had 3 creditors accept, but none of them have said about interest and charges. So they might well be adding them still - but it is only month 1 of the DMP, so will give it some time.

Today at 4pm I have my Sainsburys interview, I'm so nervous! Apparently it consists of a 45 minute test and a 15 minute interview, yikes! :rotfl:Lots to do before then though, need to find something to wear, dig out proof of my right to work in the UK - I have no idea where my birth certificate is and as I can't afford holidays I don't have a passport  Also need to do some research on Sainsburys in preparation for the "what do you know about us" question! Fingers crossed I'll survive. I'm a painfully shy person by nature so this may finish me off :rotfl:

I somehow need to find the time to all this in between looking after my 4 year old and 2 year old, lovely! Just as well I'm superwoman :p

I hope everything is going well with everyone else, PMAs remember! :T
I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.
LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.

As for Superwomen, yes......I just have to agree! :D
You are going to be just fine.

I've just been on the phone with the CCCS, we are still hoping for a 1 Dec start.........just waiting for my council to get a move on and let me know how muc my council tax is monthly......zzzzz. They told me it could take 14 days because they are so busy!!!
Anyway, the very lovely man at the CCCS calmed me right down and told me we had plenty of time!!!!

I'm ignoring my mobile, Barclaycard have been ringing, 3 times yesterday, Sunday (one call was at 7.30pm!!!!!) and again on Saturday twice!!!
They have our Notification of DMP letter and token payment so I guess they want to tighten the screw on the ball and chain a bit more eh!

Apart from that, it's just a waiting game to get started on our DMP.
I will be thinking of you! Go get em!

    Total Debt : £61,302.84
    DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010

Thanks! I need all the positive vibes I can get :rotfl:

Can't the council tell you that over the phone? If they say they can't try another department or even just another person - I've had people say they can't tell me stuff then called again ten mins later and they've told me! :o I'd say you still have time for a Dec 1st start, I sent off my paperwork just after my birthday on Oct 26th, and I got a Nov 1st start. I didn't get my welcome pack and transcash slip in time to make the first payment - but I made it by internet banking. So, there's hope for you yet!

Send Barclaycard that letter that says they can only write to you. Phone calls are a nightmare. That's the one thing I am eternally grateful for since starting the DMP, I haven't had a call from a creditor in over 2 weeks. Before I was getting more than 15 a day - seriously! It's such a weight off my mind to not have to keep the phone off or on silent all the time. You'll probably find once the CCCS have sent them their offer they will stop calling, that's what's happened with all of mine so fingers crossed that will not be far away for you.

You need to be superwoman these days I think! Otherwise it'd be impossible to get everything done! :rotfl:

Oooooo I didnt think about ringing back to get someone else.......they can tell me on the phone but they told me I must give them 14 days!!! they have all the info they need as we were on benefit for 3 months and then I got another job so we probably arent entitled anymore but they wanted all the info anyway to see in case we are entitled to a bit of a reduction. I do doubt it.

The other thing is they is always a long queue of people waiting, the other day there were 20 before me (the automated system said)...then I got through and was just explaining why I was ringing.....and got cut off! :mad:I had been hanging on for 32 minutes.

I will wait until Wednesday then try again, I do try at different times of the day to see if there are busier times or not. My god we are going to be experts at all this soon arent we? :D We are going to know the ins and outs of everything to do with DMPing :D

  • For those who are waiting for DMP Welcome packs, I posted mine back 1st Class on 16th November and my welcome pack arrived on 21st
I was very impressed and all is OK and been accepted :D

My DMP starts on 1st December
Nothing has been said about my private number plate which is on finance, which I chose to leave off my DMP for obvious reasons :shhh: I have about £250 left to pay over 12 months, so that is excellent news.

One thing is for sure from reading this forum, everybody's case is different!

All in all I am a lot happier to say the least and feel like a weight has been lifted :jThis is the first thing to go right for me in 2 years!!! I now have everything crossed that all my creditors will stop interest or at least reduce it a lot and not throw loads of charges at me monthly
I will keep you all updated
How are the following creditors known for co operating?
Can anybody give me a little insight?
    Lloyds TSB Personal Loan
    Lloyds Credit Card
    Lloyds TSB Overdraft
MINT Credit Card (Now passed to Triton Card Services)
    ARGOS Card
    Santander Store Card

Thanks again for your continued help and support dudes and duettes ;)

Great News LoopyLooLoo (love your name!!!)

We have a loan with Lloyds too.....they have continued to charge us every month for not paying etc so it will be interesting to see what happens once our DMP starts, our debt with them is steadily rising sadly.
MINT have been great and accepted my OH's token payments of £1 for 6 months which just comes to an end now at the end of this month so hopefully they will be happy with our DMP as they will be getting more per months.
I have an Abbey/Santander credit card.....charges still going on.
But my DMP hasnt started yet.....so hopefully we can start to see the balance come down in the next few months, nothing more disheartening to see than your debt going up.
Keep us posted, it is interesting how everyone's case is different and some creditors are 'nicer' than others.
For us it's MBNA, Barclaycard and Lloyds so far who are being very difficult.

    All the best!

Lloyds TSB Personal Loan They have not stopped interest, although accepted DMP. Don't like Lloyds at all!
Lloyds Credit Card - Again accepted DMP, but not stopped interest:mad:
Lloyds TSB Overdraft - DMP accepted, but still adding interest - banked with Lloyds for over 20 years and their are the most difficult in terms of still adding interest, although not massive amount, interest non the less. I don't have any of your others. Been on DMP for over 2 years.:mad:

I actually detest Lloyds as a bank
I'm not sure how I'm going to cope seeing my debt rise
I personally believe they are stricter with those with a bigger debt, but again reading through here, that is not the case for everyone.
I will keep you updated and thank you for your reply :D

Thank you for your reply, really appreciated
I knew they were going to be my biggest problem  How has this effected your debt? Is it going down or has it now become pointless due to the charges and interest they are adding... If my debt gets worse after my DMP, it's not going to be good for me health wise (I know i have sweet FA in comparison to some debt on here) but I have already suffered for the past 18 months with stress anxiety attackes and I can't take anymore. Surely there must be something they can do?

Do a lot of people have the same problem with Lloyds TSB?

I do believe though that HP is different to agreements you may have elsewhere. Would be interesting to know exactly where the number plate falls in terms of that agreement. Check the small print as 2spicy says.

I was going to say this too! I'm sure they asked me if I had any HP (I didn't) and that that goes in the priority payments bit! not sure tho!

LLL, Maybe you could phone National Debtline and ask, that way you won't have your DMP company telling you you have to add it and can keep it quiet if that's what you need to do!

Hi, I am in my second month of a DMP and most of it is going fine. Most of the creditors so far as accepted but i had a letter from the bank which our overdraft is with and they have said they are not accepting the proposed payment and now this morning got another saying that if full payment is not made then full recovery will be put in action, then there was a full paragraph about court and what i can ask the court for. What experiences have you had with your overdraft debt, did this go to a debt collector and then they accepted payment or will it go straight to court and will they skip the debt collector, Really confused now which it dont take much to do lol. I am also shocked that between the first letter and the second they have wacked on 200 pound approx onto the debt. Tried to phone my Dmp this morning and got a rather unpleasant person on the other end and said someone will call me back, the girl that is handling my case is lovely so it was a shock to get someone so rude today on the phone. I am not so worried about the others as i know in the end they will most likely will accept but the bank seems to be dragging their heels.

Which bank is it? (Probably not important, just wondering) My od is with Natwest and they were my most awkward creditors. They kept adding interest and charges which amounted to over what i was paying them so it went up instead of down!

I kept speaking to them to try and get it resolved, but they kept warning me about defaults and how they were trying to help me save my credit rating (too late mate!) until i eventually said 'I WANT you to default me'. they still sent letters trying to get me to change my mind but eventually sold it to a debt collection agency and now the interest and charges have finally been stopped and the amount if finally going down, back towards the limit! ;)
