  • Its always good to see that we can keep our sense of humour though!

I am no granny, but I certainly fancy the idea of hot chocolate and electric blanket at 9 and as the OH is away this weekend Colin Firth would be welcome too

Oi!!! Age before beauty! Get back in line ;) (So glad my partner is technically nimcompooped-he would turn his toes up if he knew!) Back now from e-bay-a good night. Think we all need to indulge in a little bit of fantasy and nonsense now and again - it's tough on living on a DMP but we will all win through stronger and wiser eventually.
  • What a lovely day, diamond creditors called me to offer me a solution to my debt problems and i'd be debt free in a year, his name was Brian from India, when I said I had no debt he hung up :) (if only it was real :( )

I'm sure that everyone would say No!
You are finally getting yourself together, stay strong and keep away from these creeps! I hate the way they say your first name, like a mantra, and as soon as you say you aren't interested, they chop the call.
I'm sort of lucky that my Mum gave me a first name that I never use (caused me a lot of embarrassment at school!) but as soon as I hear it on the phone I know it's someone who doesn't know me so, er, Thanks, Mum!!:T

    Hey wee Miss Northstar,
If I get any heads up from the Asda thingy, and I think it would help, even if you bought stuff elsewhere, will send it chick. x

Haven't heard from Bailey this evening, hope her hubby made it home safely.
I was nearly in tears reading her post last night, we all think we have problems!

Hi hun thx for that, nice one.
Bailey is doing ok, she was around a bit earlier today, I think she's spending quality time with hubby now he's home.
As for my OH, he just spends all his time on the computer every night......pretty much like me:D:D....oh dear, is this what happens after 15 years of being together zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
He had better watch it, he's 10 years older than me so I may have to change him for a younger model LOL

In the last 2 hours I have read the first 30 pages of that money saving thread I posted.....I am determined to read every single page to get all the ideas of saving more pennies. Amazing what simple things I never even thought of doing.....the only thing I will NOT be trying is the moon cup!!!!!!
    NOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
Boys, dont ask, you seriously DONT want to know!!!

    Moving SWIFTLY on......

I found a couple of those £500 money tins so I have labelled one £1 coins and the other £2coins and every day I aim to put at least 1 coin in each pot.....this may not work some days so I will try to top up. I'm a bit too impatient for the smaller value coins so I thought this would be better. When they are full I just get a can opener and open them up. I just hope though that I wont have to open them up when they are only a bit full :(.....which has happened so many times before.
    PMA PMA PMA .......

What is it about Colin Firth that you girls love? I had an ex, who kept a photoframe with me on one side, and him on the other...

As for egos, please leave me alone, and concentrate on Geoff, who does more stellar work than I ever could. Please treat me as the warm up comedian to the main event!

OMG, I have spent most of the day on here, no dinner is cooked for the tribe at home, oh dear.....BUT I have managed to find that thread I was after, the one about saving more money when shopping etc. There are a few of them around but I liked this one.....warning though, it is looooooong, but I think it's very useful for some tips that to be honest, I never ever thought about.
Badly need to get my shopping down from £500 a month to about £350 in the first instance. I am pretty sure I can do it so this thread will help.
Anyway, enough gassing, god I can talk for England,

here it is, hope it helps :

Wow. only read a page of this and am half in awe and half horrified at what people do to save money. I mean I love that they do it, but isn't some of it a bit sneaky?

  • I have been doing the grocery challende to try to keep to the food budget I have agreed. If anyone is struggling I really recommend hopping over to those boards for inspiration.
All quiet on the DMP front at the moment. Have been very busy e-baying. It can get a bit stressful - things getting lost, damaged or people generally not happy although on the whole it is raising funs for house repairs and making space.
Off to sort out the shopping list for the week - have a good one everyone!

  • Morning everyone, Glad to hear Bailey is OK.
I'm off to visit my mum this morning, and will prob. stop at Asda on the way home!
My son brought a massive tin of change home from the house he shares with 4 other blokes at Uni. We had great fun tipping it all in the change machine in Tesco!
I know it charges 8%, but he got a tidy sum to buy them all beer, shower stuff and most importantly loo roll!!
I'm getting a wee bit addicted to that money saving thread...
Hope everyone has a great weekend -
