    Mornin all
Hope your havin a good start 2 the weekend ?
Ive already had 5 phone calls 2 the house phone and 5 to my mobile this morning and its ony just past 11am so think im in for another weekend of hell from our creditors !!, sent the signed paperwork back to CCCS in week so hopfully our DMP will be up and running by 1st Dec (does anyone agree) ive just checked our online account am im completly gutted weve opened a coop basic account but was to late to get my wages paid into this month (they go in monday) so i have cancelled all my standing orders & direct debits and was going to withdraw maney in bank on mon am and put in straight into new coop account and although payday not til mon its showing already (think my employers must bank with natwest??) they have already taken my loan payment even though i had cancelled the standing order ??? i was sending my letter to them mon explaining my DMP and offering a token payment this month so now im again £300 down !! At the mo it just seems there is no light at the end of the tunnel, I was sending all my letters to creditors mon as was stressed about the bank situation as majority of our creditors are either natwest or lloyds and we both have salary paid in on mon into them do you think i could put in the dont contact me by phone letters before sending them as the flamin phone has rang another 2 times whilst ive typed this !!,

Hi jayneben, sorry if this has been answered already. Majority of my debts are with Lloyds n Nat West as well.
Any loan or overdraft or outstanding balance you have with the can be used TO PAY OFF ANOTHER LOAN YOU HAVE WITH THEM, oops sorry had caps on! so if you have a credit card and overdraft with Lloyds they can use the money in your bank account towards the credit crd. Can youn open a new account thats not linked to your current bank acount? Think if you return your DMP pack before the 8th of every month then its the 1st of the onths after x

Hi there, welcome to the board. Dont want to be negative at this early stage but a lot of us on here are doing DMPs with CCCS which offer a free service. Dont know about pay service?? but if they charge you for it then it will take you longer to pay off your debts. Can you explainj pay servce a bit more??

Yeh it is a charging service. it was recomended by a friend and she said they,ve been good with her. After browsing the market found it the simplest to set up. ill stick with this for the minute and see how it goes. can always swap at a later date if need be.
  • Hello all, been reading this week but not got round to posting till now. Sorry to everyone who's having a rotten time at the moment, sorry about your mum Northstar, here's wishing her a speedy recovery, and Bailey59, hope things work out for you.

Had a default notice from HSBC, so that's five out of seven cards now. At least they're getting it over with early on! HSBC still "pending" on the Justabank site (btw, does anyone really like their new look? I miss the "traffic lights" layout on the creditors page!).

And had my latest statement from Post Office Cards, who have rejected the plan so far. As they said in their letter last week, the entire £5400 amount is now due, on the 28th. Is this where I have a feel done the back of the sofa? What actually happens after this point, do I just ignore it or write some sort of letter as suggested a couple of posts ago? Does it go to CCJ's and/or DCA next? No interest or charges added I notice though.

Good luck to those starting DMP's soon, I see there's quite a few! And welcome Club_head_2 and Pwally2

Thank you yellowpinky, it's been a bit tough going what with all this DMP stuff going, things are looking good for now, just waiting for the results.
Anyway, trying to psych myself up for work tomorrow having had a day off compassionate leave for my mum's op and then of cousrse the usual phone calls and letters demanding that I phone to discuss my accounts further.......mmmm no chance. The notification of DMP letter clearly says leave me alone and deal with the CCCS :D

Rearding the saving pennies thread, I have now unrolled my last kitchen towel roll and cut each sheet in half to make it last longer, like toilet paper my girls go through loads in a week! Fingers crossed.
    :T
Have a lovely Sunday, what's left of it, I need to get back to my paperwork, I'm getting hooked on this site now but it helps keep me sane and you are all :A:A
    Thank you so very much,

  • hi all!

feeling a bit better than Thurs as i was a bit down. However have paid off Halifax OD (it was only £40 like!) and closed the account!! only a small debt but a debt nonetheless!.

Got my letter to state how much creditors will be getting, i chuckled at some!

Sick and tired of bloody Lloyds!! keep ringing me but luckily i recognise the 01273 number on my mobile and homephone! leaving messages sounds like they are from India! lol. BUT with not paying anything for 2 months the statement is £400 needs paying and plus am now over my credit limit with them and when i saw how much interest was on i couldve cried but am past that (well today anyway!)

    Sending token payments today/tomorrow.

I have had a decent weekend me and OH played golf yesterday and today so feel like i have had loads of fresh air and ready for next week at work!

    See ya later peeps

Just a quickie! Has anyone had success with getting First Direct to stop charging interest whilst on DMP. They currently charging 6% and have been since on DMP for debts totalling £3500. Would be nice if could get them to stop charging. Any help grateful!!

Hey Peeps, another few weeks of life on the DMP has passed, and I see Payplan have launched a new website. Now we can see the acceptance status of our creditors .. Ooooooo :)

For this that havnt seen my post waaay back on page 105, here is a link ....
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1735087&page=105

Just a few quick bullet points for those starting out.

October was "Birthday Month" for us ... both of us have October birthdays, and our Little one's is in November .. It been a trying time with partys , cakes etc, but we have just finished doing the "free" firework displays, as a treat. Hotdogs home cooked, and a coolbag for drinks, we went armed and had 4 evenings of entertainment all for free. so that was a massive treat for our 4 yr old son.
Hubby has once again been working away one week in the last 3 so thats another weeks food money put aside, but both cars needed MOT's, and passed with only advisories. Hubby says he will to the brakes before the winter sets in ... safing the quoted £200 garage price.

All in all, weve been quietly plodding on. were just comming to our aniversary Lightbulb Moment, and next month will bee us in Month 11 of our DMP.

to date, total debt at the start was £68,000, and with the aide of some insurance policys that were cashed in, plus the last years payments, our debt now stands at £56,000.

Our mortgage is now on standard variable rate, so we are going to make the most of the low interest repayments and pay off as much as we can on the DMP over the next 12 months.
So fingers crossed for the intertest rate being below 4% for the next 4 years :)

Well done to all the new starters on the forum... it may seem daunting, but youve taken the first steps. It does get easier.

    Hi all,

been trying to catch up over lunch, not quite there (didn't realise how long it had been since I'd last posted) but thought I'd post to say hello and catch up on the rest later.

It was birthday on the 27th Oct and I've been having a lovely couple of weeks! Hubby came home the night before my birthday and i had my birthday and the day after off work. We went to the zoo and out for dinner (and he paid with the money he'd saved during 7 weeks of being away, and the odd guitar lesson) and it was lovely.

then we had a halloween party (joint with my sil) which was great fun and pretty inexpensive as for the first time we didn't buy alcohol for the guests, just for ourselves! (and there was still stuff left over)

then had one more day off work (last mon) and hubby went back to scotland to work.

Sat i had a great day! I WENT SHOPPING!!!! haven't been shopping for ages, it was fab. the only things i buy nowadays are the odd little thing (£3-£5 type price range) and even then I think about it for a couple of weeks to check I really want it! but this time i had £100 birthday money to go and spend on ME! tbh i think i enjoyed it more than i've ever enjoyed shopping! coz it was money truly allocated just for that purpose, so there was NO guilt!

This DMP has really changed me and changed the way I think about money and i guess the way i think about 'stuff' too!
a couple of things I bought were planned before hand and most of the shops i went in were planned too! no wandering aimlessly for me!

AND, i still have money left, coz my dad gave me so much (on top of the £100 which was from other people, not him) I didn't want to splurge it just like that! so i'm thinking about it more and think i'm going to get my hair done before the xmas party (something i desperately need but haven't been able to afford or justify to myself) and maybe even my nails done (if they've grown enough by then). Might buy something with it too but not sure yet. and i certainly won't spend it all!

    I'm a new person I tell you!

Oh and one more thing, despite it being birthday month I MAY (way to go yet of course) even end the month with money left in the bank! which i have to say i really didn't expect! i'm certainly not panicking it's all gone at this stage which has happened in previous months!

hope you're all doing well and DMP's are going swimmingly! To all the newbies, it really is the right thing you are doing!!
