  • OMG, I have spent most of the day on here, no dinner is cooked for the tribe at home, oh dear.....BUT I have managed to find that thread I was after, the one about saving more money when shopping etc. There are a few of them around but I liked this one.....warning though, it is looooooong, but I think it's very useful for some tips that to be honest, I never ever thought about.
Badly need to get my shopping down from £500 a month to about £350 in the first instance. I am pretty sure I can do it so this thread will help.
Anyway, enough gassing, god I can talk for England,

here it is, hope it helps :

Jeez Ian, if this party ever happens you'll be hiding in Twitty's garage!!

    He,he - there ain't one! :rotfl:
But please rest assured as I'm nearly old enough to be everyone's granny this bash is only ever going happen in cyberspace. I need to be tucked up in bed by 9pm with a cup of cocoa and a hot water bottle (but Colin Firth would be better) ;) Still life in the old gal yet! :D:o
What an entertaining bit of nonsense this party has been but time now for reality methinks. So on with the business of our DMPs and I'm off to e-Bay to bag a bargain.

You said it, Twitty, there's so much happening for everyone at the mo, it's better to stick to the facts. I would feel awful if someone got missed because we were talking c**p!!

  • Northstar, by the way I checked out that link and the tips are really good!

I'm sure there's a shopping thread where there are lots of "Supermarket" tips, I remember it because I didn't know what "whoopsied" food was until I went into Asda! Duh!

  • Its always good to see that we can keep our sense of humour though!

I am no granny, but I certainly fancy the idea of hot chocolate and electric blanket at 9 and as the OH is away this weekend Colin Firth would be welcome too

We dont have Asda (or tesco or any of the major chains) here in the channel isles so I am now completely desparate to know what "whoopsied" food is, you really cant imagine what picture I have in my head with a small dog and no doggy bag :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Oh Dear, I just posted on Northstars link to the other thread!
Just wanted to say the tips are really GOOD!
Is that the same thread with "Supermarket" tips? I didn't know what "whoopsied" food meant, until the next time I was in Asda's.

Oh, it's OK, haven't posted elsewhere! Not that it would matter anyway!

Haha! I hadn't noticed that when Asda reduce food that's close to sell-by date, they put "Whoops" on the label as if they should have noticed ( I think!)

  • My Asda is a bit too far away and now that I don't have the use of my car it wouldnt be easy to get too. :(
I don't like to feel I am missing out so do keep me up to date :D
