Good morning!
Crikey I missed a fair bit last night! :rotfl:I went to my bed at 8.30 as I wasn't feeling well - my two year old had me up every two hours as she's suffering too so we were a right pair during the night. She's finally asleep but now my other two are in full swing, no rest for the wicked!
Just waiting on the postie arriving and seeing what news he brings today, now that the strikes have been called off. I half look forward to the mail (for acceptances) and half dread it (for rejections).
I'll need to try get myself and the girlies dressed and somehow make it round asda this morning as there's no food in. I shouldn't really go and spread our swine flu germs, but we need to eat. Whaddya do! No time to get it delivered, so needs must.
Hope everyone has a good day, and that you behave yourselves! I'll pop back later if I can with news of what the postie brings, but I might be too busy being ill and feeling sorry for myself! :rotfl:If OH gets away early today I will take myself off to bed, with little Sophie in tow probably!

Morning all, Glad to hear the Post strike was called off today. I know lots of us have been really worried about that.
Hope whoever is waiting for the postie gets what they need!:j:hello::hello::jDMP mutual support thread member 3480 -
Morning,
Well I have just been on the post office tracking system and only 5 out of 9 notification letters have been received! I posted them on the 3rd recorded delivery aswell. I sent a couple of cheques off to other companies for missed dd's on the 4th normal post and they have had them. Typical. LBM 23-10-2009 - Total unsecured debt £39,638.65 _pale_

Morning All,
same with me Bailey, there are still 5 of mine sitting somewhere in a sack waiting to be delivered, posted on the 29th, and yet, my cheques that went for the direct debits got there in 2/3 days, typical.
Can feel my pulse racing again!
Hope we all get the acceptance letters soon so we can enjoy Christmas when it gets here, then we can all be positive again for 2010, that will be our year!

Finally posted everything off yesterday. 11 DMP notification letters with postal orders in each one, and letter to CCCS with supporting documents.
Anyone know how long it will take for everything to kick in? When/how do CCCS request money from me?DMP mutual support thread member: 358

Speaking of dreading the post, I remember soon after I started my DMP receiving a letter in a white envelope with a letter inside printed on pink/red paper. So all I could see through the window was the dreaded red colour. Finally dared to open it and found it was my monthly update for my AC Nielsen Shopping Scan thingy.
So it's not always bad...DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

Anyway, I got so distressed I called the Personal Banking Manager who kindly gave me her mobile number last week when Lloyds messed up my Internet Banking stuff.
I told her that I was worried because of the Lloyds/HBOS thing and that one of my creditors is HBOS.
She told me that, although HBOS are under the Lloyds umbrella, they are bound by the banking regulations or something and are not authorised to take money from my Lloyds account.
She was very helpful and said that she will call me tomorrow to make an appointment for me to come in and see her and she'll talk me through it and put my mind at rest.
I hope that helps you bailey59
With love, CC xx
This is excellent news! As it means Lloyds can't take money out of my halifax either. :TDMP mutual support thread member: 358

I also told him that things would break down completely between us if his face was always going to be "like that" because I thought he didn't like the way I spent the food money! I'm not kidding. This is all so stressful and it's true what they say that "You only hurt the ones you love", so please try to have a bit of "us" time with him, if you can, even if its a DVD you both like and a bag of popcorn and a bottle of wine. You love him really!! It's just this !!!! messing with your head. xo
I have been married to Mrs Pellypo for three years now and up until we started the DMP we had only had one argument! We've had loads since we started. Lol. But I guess it's just a stressful time at the beginning and it will settle I'm sure.DMP mutual support thread member: 358

I cannot believe it's nearly a year (well 11 months anyway) since I won my court fight against HFC/Weightmans/Phoenix Recoveries. It only seems like yesterday that I was dreading the post to see what Weightmans would send next & having to print off letter after letter to fight back, all the while trying to read through every CCA 1974 law going.
2009 has been (touch wood) a quiet year for me on the DMP front. All my creditors seem to have accepted the offers & its all going along at a very slow & steady pace. Its a world away from near Christmas 2007 when I had just started the journey, albeit that I actually had a great xmas that year knowing I had taken positive action, unfortunately 2008 was a pretty horrible year.
This past year has been all about reclaiming every possible charge, penalty or mis-sold policy possible & it has enlightened me no end to the dirty tricks (and scams) of certain creditors. I've still got a few fights left as well, which I'm looking forward to now.
One thing is for certain, whilst getting into debt will always be a big regret for me, dealing with it along with all the consequences has really made me grow as a person.:j DMP mutual support thread member - 135:j0 -
Hi drpellypo, I opened a new bank account with the Halifax but cancelled it as I just didnt want to run the risk even though the bank manager said it was ok and they couldnt off set the account.
With regards to the CCCS once they have your pack and have made sure everything is ok they will send you a welcome pack that has a slip in it which you can take to the post office, you can pay your 1st month then, then it will be taken from your bank account on the 1st of every month after that. You can also pay another way but I cant remeber how! Its a few pages back, sorry! In my 1st pack from the CCCS they told me to return everything back to them by the 8th Nov for a 1st Dec start date. Did your 1st pack tell you this? I think normally if they receive your pack before the 8th of that month your plan will start the following month.
Know what you mean about the arguments. Once we realised we were in debt and started to do something about it I was the one to take control which meant being firm with the OH. Its a very stressful time at the moment.
Geoffmr1 its great hearing from people like you that are further down the line on their DMP. Most people seem settled and have less stress so it gives us all something to focus on:idea: LBM 23-10-2009 - Total unsecured debt £39,638.65 _pale_
