A word of warning - I remember having to pay a charge at the post office for a transcash payment, so have some cash ready for this. Can't remember how much, sorry.

Oh Northstar, what a mess lol!!! I am hoping that by the time i do mine in about a week the postal strike will be done with. Do you have to send the letters recorded delivery? I know that doesn't guarantee your letters will get there the next day but as least you can track them, also get a proof of posting slip, they are free. I dont think I will sign any of my letters now. And thanks Nargleblast. We are getting our knickers in a twist!

  • Oh for $%%^&^&&* sake!!!!
I cant believe it!!! I have to wait for the updated tax credits payment because its different to what we told CCCS last month because I have just started a new job, got my first pay slip last friday, phoned the tax credits helpine when I got home, updated my details with new income so now the tax credits are going to go down. It usually takes 2 weeks for the paperwork to come through, I cant wait for that obviously so I need to ring them to see if I can get a figure from them to quote to the CCCS and maybe send the proof along when it comes?
Oh my days, I forgot all about that today! I roughly estimated what it was going to be........unless CCCS will keep the estimation for now......surely things like this can be adjusted anyway as our circumstances get better?
Ok, to do in the morning : phone the tax credits helpline and see if they have a figure they can give me on the phone
phone the cccs to check its ok to give them the figure without the proof and send that on whenever it gets to me. Got a feeling of deja vu here, I was sure I had this sorted.......:((
Knickers in a twist eh......looks like it.....where's that drink!!!!

I dont know a thing about tax credits but I am sure the DMP will go ahead on the figures you provide, if the credits are more/less you can then I assume adjust the payments after. Its just frustrating that these things keep popping into our heads. I cant relax for one minute at the moment. Have a glass with me, I just opended the wine:beer:

  • Oh lovely, thank you, just what I needed!
It's so true, these things do keep popping up and I am so organised I have lists for everything, like today, the question about my daughters' savings with the Abbey (Which reminds me....I dont think I had a response to that yet, so another thing to check tomorrow!)
I like my lists and I love to cross things off but then feel a bit disheartened when more things are added but not enough crossed off!

I am off work this week and it's lucky I have been, there is no way I could have coped with this next week, plus my mum's having a big op next Weds so it's going to be a bit difficult.Maybe things are happening like this now because I am off work so can deal with it. There you go, that's some PMA lol
everything will be alright......(i will be quoting my mum a lot with this quote, until I get the slippers and eggs chucked at me LOL)

Thx for being there! Got some twiglets, nuts and nibbles somewhere in my empty cupboards LOL They will go nicely with that wine!
(still waiting for the OH......zzzzzzzz I think I have to go ahead and do the letter then show him, I might get some action from him then!)

  • Good Morning Everyone!

My little girl came in at 8.40 last night  She's only 6 :rotfl:My sister picked her up though, so it's not like she was out on her own. I'll never get her out of bed this morning.

I'm going to pay my first payment to my DMP tomorrow. If my welcome pack doesn't arrive today they have given me the details and said I can just go to the PO and ask for a transcash slip, so I will just do that. I'll give it today to arrive though, as I'd rather have it when I went down. The charge for transcash is £2.61 or something, deffo £2 odds. After that payments can be made by DD or standing Order. I'm going with Standing Order, I have a phobia of DDs now :rotfl:

I don't think I've ever been so keen to pay anything in my life :rotfl:

Have a good day everyone, I'd better get a wriggle on and go and wake the girls. My 6 year old will no doubt be like a zombie - the little ones are always hyper straight away though! :A
I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.

Oh dear,we have cap one and mbna as our creditors-dmp not starting till august, but busy cancelling direct debits now,so just waiting for the onslaught of letters:rolleyes:.Hope you manage to get sorted,I will not be ringing anyone either-all correspondance by letter for us I hope.Well it should be anyway as we just changed our phone number!.Thanks for posting-finding out how things are going with people who are further on the journey than we are really helps.

am just starting my DMP journey as well...haven't answered the phone for a while!!...Barclays were even phoning at ten at night !!!!! Next scary bit is what the bank will do when I take off...it would have killed me off completly staying with the BoS Halifax anyway as they are introducing £1 a day for using your authorised overdraft!! As I have a bill payment and current account with them using overdraft facilities the montly charges would have hit the roof!

  • I have completed the debt remedy on CCCS website and am waiting for my pack to arrive. In the meantime I have to pay some of our credit cards so do I send a letter to each of the creditors saying that we are starting up a DMP before I get the pack and do I have to send the token payments by postal orders or can it be by BACS transfers so that I know they have received them. Its all so confusing!
  • Hey guys - just so you know if you cant get to the post office or have that spare money for the transcash - you can send a faster payment through online banking etc. I just got the account numbers from them on the phone. Sorted that out and then sent my D/D paperwork. I can probably get the details if you want from my online banking - you just need to put your CCCS number on as a reference. I had no troubles with this, allocated my payment correctly.

A couple of days late isnt much bother for them so dont get stressed if it doesnt reach there bang on the 1st.

Totally broke, I sent my tokens through online banking - just because it was easier to do. No problems at all.

Oh this would be perfect for me, save me taking all 3 of my kids the 40 minute walk to the post office in the beautiful Scottish Weather! You're 100% they'd get it OK? :T
