Cuppa and DVD sounds good LMS.

I got my CCCS DMP pack tonight everyone. Feel scared and optimistic all at the same time. Wish I could talk to someone about it, my immediate family know but really want to discuss it all with the hubby. He's working away though mon-fri and he hates it and his job as it is so dont want to burden him but its difficult on my own trying to sort everything. Even if I talk to him he cant do anything about it cos he's so far away. Thank goodness for all you guys

Ok, I'm here if needed, I am about to send all the bits off, tomorrow hopefully if my hubby would get his head out sand and help me with his bit about his self employed earnings :(
I'm the paperwork sorter in the house, the phone call maker, the letter writer......so it's all on my head.

Anyway bailey59, take a day or 2 to read it all, then read it again. It is a lot to get your head around. Then write a list of what needs to be sent off and to whom, when I did that I found it much easier to deal with.
Then I typed up the notification of DMP letter on the computer and spent 2 days getting it ready for the 12 creditors, just changing names and important bits like that, then, to sort of save time, I copied at the same time the last letter received from each creditor because the CCCS want that too so they know who to send the payments to.
So as of tonight I am almost ready to send it all back, hence my dilemma about the postal strike, to sign or not to sign blah blah!

I think the sooner we get it all sent back the sooner we will feel a bit better, I think we are on track for a 1 Dec start, fingers crossed eh!
We are on our way, it will be bumpy, it will be rocky, it will be a rollerocaster ride of emotions but it feels so good knowing Im not alone!!!
    Total Debt : £61,302.84
    DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010
Debt Free in 13 Years 1 month, hopefully sooner as things improve and they stop interest/charges!!

I love this thread, it's got a life of it's own. I leave for 1 day, come back and we're 3 pages on!

Nothing much to add, just to say we're all here to support each other, and regarding DMP notification with token payments, I didn't bother with that and let PP do their stuff. Just sent a cheque with the giro slip to each creditor (I did forget to do my loan payment though). If anyone phoned, I answered, and explained my situation.

I always try to remember at the beginning, for all they know, you've stopped paying them, and they want their money. When they know you're on a DMP, most of the time they'll lay off for a bit. You do always get the nasty ones occasionally though, but I just think of that Horlicks advert with the traffic warden...

Same situation here, the DMP went off today with the first payment, Hubby works away Monday to Friday, so today I got my sister to have the baby for a hour whilst I went to the pop office armed with a bunch of letters. I've not discussed this with my family as I know i will get the old 'well I always thought you were having more than we used to have at your age' speech. Now lets hope they all accept the DMP, MBNA seemed to be fine on the phone, and so did Alliance and Leicester with the loan, lets hope the rest of them are just as good :)

Thanks Northstar, I have EXACTLY the same hubby as you lol! CCCS want everything back by the 8th Nov so I need to get cracking. I just need to get some money together for that 1st payment, I cant see them doing it by 1st Dec though but never say never. But you are right, tonight I cooked tea for today and tomorrow night so all I have to do tomorrow is sit down and sort it out, its all pretty much together and up to date just need to sort my dd's out for my new bank account before I send letters off.

And Hello Ianmak, sorry but I think you will see we have hijacked this thread lol. There are a few of us new ones around all at the same stage in our debt remedies and thios thread has been great over the past couple of days

I nearly didnt have to worry about paying my mortgage a minute ago! I put the dog some cheap mince on to cook on the hob before Eastenders, I could hear this noise but couldnt figure it out, after a walk round the room I realised the noise was coming from the kitchen!!! The pan and the mince had boiled dry, see what happens when I come on here!!

  • I think i'm off to do my signature, it's comforting to see others with huge debts and still being positive, i've had so many sleepless nights and arguments with OH about money, hopefully soon the only thing to argue about will be how messy he is, anyone know of a good company to help me with that?
