  • LOL thank you for making me laugh! Oh its good to laugh sometimes.

Yes you have your interview later, good luck with that again!

As for us, we are stuck at the moment with no extra money to put towards the DMP unless my OHs work picks up, hes self employed, it starts to quieten down a bit before Christmas so I'm dreading it but hopefully something will come up to see us through to January.
As my mum always says 'Everything will be alright' bless her!

Thank you so much to all posters
  • triggles, if the debt is only in your OHs name they can't come after you for it, not at all. I have never had anyone re-instate my DDs, but I guess it can't hurt to pop that in there and at least then like you say it's there and black and white so if they do you can unleash your wrath on them ;)

Thanks Northstar, I've been polishing up my broadband knowledge all day and practicing competency based questions. Here's hoping they are along the right lines, if they throw a surprise question in there I'll be stuck! :rotfl:

I can imagine being self employed would be stressful, like you say especially at xmas - but I suppose as long as you can pay your DMP and living costs for now, that's what matters! You never know what will change in future I guess :A
I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.

Also DH ordered one of those O2 load up cards - where you can put money on it at a cashpoint or O2 store and use the card like a debit card. The problem is, it's with RBS group... if one of DH's creditors is also with RBS group, can they turn around and take money off that card that DH has deposited on (without his permission, I mean)?? We just wanted to keep about £50 on there in case of some emergency so he can keep it on him without having to carry cash all the time.

Sorry, I feel like I'm asking a ton of questions....

One more question - regarding postal orders for the token payments. The loans/credit cards are in DH's name, and obviously we don't want to give them his signature, so he won't be signing the letters. But what about signing the postal orders? Would it be better for ME to sign them? They can't then use that to come after me, can they? (colour me paranoid, eh?) I didn't know if they would say that since I was signing the postal orders, and making the payments (technically) that I am now responsible for the debt as well.

You dont sign postal orders. The post office does all that for you. As long as they are crossed they should be fine and type your name at the end of the letters.

  • Following on from signing postal orders......maybe I am really bein paranoid now...sorry...but I am about to send the notification of DMP letters to all the creditors, should we be signing those letters? Our names are on them but printed because I have typed them up.
I am planning on going for all the credit card charges for overpayment/late payment fees and read somewhere else here to not sign anything.

What do you think? Should I leave the signatures off?
    Huge thanks for any advice.

catwoman - thanks. I've not gotten one before so I'm feeling rather silly now. Didn't realise we didnt' need to sign them.

northstar - DH isn't signing his letters. He will be printing his name at the bottom.

I'm sure I read on here somewhere that you can sign the letter if needed, just put big X's through your signature

  • Some people have either signed a different sign at the bottom of the letters that they send or they do not sign them at all and just print the name.
