Afternoon all, hope you are all well? ;)

Had to laugh today after receiving a letter from Littlewoods telling me that because I am a good customer :D (haha I did laugh at that statement) I am entitled to the silver reward of 10% from my next order!

It just made me laugh knowing they are on my DMP and to think a few years ago I would have thought wow wee! get the catalogue and order a few hundred pounds worth of stuff all because of 10%! :o You can sort of understand why I still owe them £1.5k :o:o:o

Needless to say I ripped the letter up straight away, I wasn't even tempted! :D

Pure crazy isn't it? I'm still still getting CC and loan offers (because I'm worth it???) As you say temptation doesn't enter into it, you just want to be rid of the debts you've got. Well done for seeing through the evil marketing ploys!

NorthStar & LittleMissSkint - thanks - I do think we'll do that - clean it out. Feel a bit "Bonnie & Clyde" doing it, but we have to look out for ourselves, I suppose.

Well, shiny new bank account set up and ready to go. Have sort code and account number and have updated regular household accounts such as council tax, life insurance, and things like that. Nothing that has a tie with our loans/credit cards. Whew! What a day! And then the car breaks down...sigh... so we'll be incurring a car repair bill this week getting it fixed. Thank goodness it's not needed for the next couple days anyway!

Oh nooo, bad luck with the car, ours failed its MOT last week and needs new brake shoes, ouch, it's just sitting there waiting to be fixed :(, can't actually pay for it yet too. I do hate Octobers! Get this every year!

I'm working my way through my creditors list doing the letters about the DMP, will have to stop soon, my head's going to explode. Got 12 to do. I know I will feel a whole lot better though when they are done!

  • :jI just got a call from Sky to say I have a telephone interview tomorrow for a Broadband Advisor job, I'm so nervous! it's a competency based interview whatever that is! Here's hoping I am not incompetent :rotfl:If my telephone interview goes well then I get an actual interview on Friday, Woop! It's 6pm-10pm so would be perfect hours for me as I wouldn't have to fork out for childcare as other half is home at 5pm. Fingers crossed!

LittleMiss - goodluck! hope it all goes well!

Brief thought - we are also working on claiming back missold PPI on two loans that we are now only going to be making token payments on. Bit cheeky? Will they literally just laugh at us and say we're obnoxious? Or is it two separate issues, as I think it is.

Just giving this a bump to see if anyone knows anything about being defaulted?

    Thanks

Sarah, Egg and Amex defaulted me immediately after stopping payment, and paying tokens before going onto a DMP. Not heard much from them since.

I think it is normal with some creditors, but depends on the circumstance, and mood they're in I think...

    Three newbies:

    Completely Confused 352
    Northstar68 353
    CraigP 354

Northstar68 wanted to know what to do with the number. You can do what you like with it.... stick it on a badge, bumpersticker....

Seriously though, your username and number go on the first page of this thread in the list, and you can add the number to your signature if you wish. There's no reason to have or not have a number, it just seems to help people belong to this support thread.

On a separate note, just started receiving statements again from Halifax after months of receiving zilch... hmm, now either they've taken the accounts back from the DRAs, or this is part of the new dealing with debt initiative to see what my current debt is... who knows! Will give them a ring at some stage to find out.
