I'm sure I read on here somewhere that you can sign the letter if needed, just put big X's through your signature
Big X's? So sign as normal and then with the same colour pen add a few capital Xs on it? Sorry for the dopey question but anyone wanting to copy the sig could do the same then couldnt they?

If you put Xs through the signature and someone tries to copy it over to their paperwork it will be obvious its been lifted from another document, because the Xs will be through it, if that makes sense!I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0 -
Hi Just thought I'd jump in.... been on DMP with CCCS now since April this year... also had to reduce payments in meantime... still get letters, defaults etc. I ignore letters, I reply, nicely to phone calls, and up till now the creditors have been ok. I am trying to sell my house, and my OH has just been made redundant... so what else can I do. Chill, stay calm... Good luck to you all... and I think I will be 207 years old before my debts are paid off!!!!!0

Sorry Northstar, dont want to add to your stress levels:o
I wonder if I can find the post for you?? I will have a look.
I am wondering what to do about this too. The last few letters I have sent I signed because I didnt know any different! There are so many new things to learn about being in debt and dealing with creditors. I really wish I had come on here a few weeks earlier. I think either dont sign or write your name in capitals may be the best bet. LBM 23-10-2009 - Total unsecured debt £39,638.65 _pale_

Hi 50Broke,
oh gooood, so sorry to hear that.
As for the 207........sounds much like me! My OH said the other day he could well be dead by the time we pay ours off, hes 10 years older than me hence the comment.....and he's just turned 51...really depressing when we thought about it, then we had to laugh, what else could we do.
We wont be beaten thats for sure.
All the best with your house sale.....a new year will soon be upon us, fingers crossed it will be our year.
thx for the tip about not signing.Total Debt : £61,302.84 :eek:DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010Debt Free in 13 Years 1 month, hopefully sooner as things improve and they stop interest/charges!!Long Hauler #188 DMP Member 353Thank you so much to all posters :beer:0 -

Hi All,
I am currently handling my creditors personally, however I admit I am begining to struggle.
I am wanting to find a company who can help, anyone who can offer advice on who to contact or has had experience with that is efficient and understanding I would be very grateful.

Hi shopoholic2639, the CCCS are recommended on here and are free. If you go to the top of the DFW board you can ask a CCCS councellor a question or go on their website, fill out a statment of affairs then click on DMP at the end, they will then phone you back to discuss it. Or there is the CAB or payplan I think. Dont pay anyone for their services. There is no need to put extra strain on yourself when there is help available, I can understand dealing with creditors on your own will be difficult:idea: LBM 23-10-2009 - Total unsecured debt £39,638.65 _pale_
