  • That all sounds perfect for me, I have a week or 2 but its good to know they will accept the online payment, although I have no excuse, my local post office is only a 10 minute walk away.....mind you, its a sub post office. I wont think about that just yet anyway, still getting the letters ready and proof etc to send off. Sigh!

    Hi Totallybroke41 & sunnydais :hello:
Welcome to you, we are all in the same boat.
I've go the same with the phone calls from Barclays, which will get worse now I have cancelled my dd payment for their loan. There is something we can do to hopefully stop the calls, there is a template letter on the forum somewhere. I think I need to get one of those sent off too. My calls and texts are coming on the weekends, lately, Sunday mornings and Sunday nights!!! Totally unacceptable I think!
    Total Debt : £61,302.84
    DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010
Debt Free in 13 Years 1 month, hopefully sooner as things improve and they stop interest/charges!!

Well it was definitely there when i recieved my login for it anyways! Just have to make sure that you put your number on as a reference and your name if it fits.

Yep, I did the same thing, over the last few months just read my way around the boards but didnt sign up and post, then I thought the best thing is to stick with friends in the same boat because there can be some ruthless people out there and we need support not a kick in the teeth so I came running back here too! :j
My bank have just told us that they are withdrawing our overdraft facility from the 1st Dec and we need to pay the £1400 by then..........impossible.... so they are now added to our list of creditors :( and has made our changing of accounts more urgent! )

cheeez how do they expect you to find that amount of money with a snap of their fingers....they have forgotten that they are only alive coz the tax payer bailed them out

  • Yey! :j I cant believe it, they orginally they said yes to me but no to DH which sent him into a real depressive state! He's at work so I let him know and instead of being enthusiastic about it, all he said was "They changed their mind again then" Oh well one more thats accepted!

A & L have withdrawn our accounts, they want us to send them our proposal! So will email the contents of letter to cccs as I know how busy they are on the phonelines, and let them contact them, they probably have had it already from cccs but you know how things pass departments! Left hand not knowing the right hand is doing! :p

On the other hand my catalogue have withdrawn my credit limiit used my credit against my balance, but have not contacted me, and yet they sent me 2 letters yesterday offering me money off my next orders! Errr..............I dont think so!

I was brave and answered the phone yesterday it was Egg and B/card, both when I explained cccs etc were fine took ref number and left it at that!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

I dont believe this. We have 2 bank accounts - my husbands is with Lloyds TSB who are our biggest creditor and we have a joint one with the Nat West who are another one of our creditors.

I have just opened a new bank account with the Halifax and today I started cancelling dd's from both of the above accounts and phoning everyone to tell them the new Halifax account details.

Now I have just read the Lloyds and the Halifax linked. That means I cant have an account with the Halifax!

So all I have done so far has been a complete waste and I am back to square one.

I have received my DMP pack from CCCS and was going to start writing to everyone this week but now I cant cos if I do Lloyds & Nat West will be after me and if I put my money in the Halifax account Lloyds could take it all and leave me in an overdraft with Halifax which I cannot do!

So now I urgently need a new bank account but I dont know who to get one with. It cant be linked to Lloyds or the Nat West. I went on a site that showed all the banks and I cant remember Lloyds having the Halifax with it.

I cant afford my minimum payments this month now to everyone, I so wanted to get the letters off and re-arrange my dd's but now after the 3rd of Nov all the dd's I have cancelled to re-start will have to be cancelled with the Halifax and now I dont have any dd's in place at all.

I feel like crying but Im at work, this is such a mess now, I feel sick. I am going for a walk now to try and clear my head. Please please please can someone help me out

I have just posted the above on a separate thred but wanted to put it on here 2. I have just been for a walk to clear my head and I am going to phone everyone back and see if I can pay by cheque this month, hopefully then I can strill write to my creditors as planned and hopefully I will have a dd set up for next month. I think I might try Barclays.

Still feel like I have had the wind and stuffing knocked out of me but trying to remain calm

  • Oh Bailey, I feel for you.

What about a basic bacnk account with HSBC? They open them up quickly and aren't tied to NatWest or Lloyds.

I think paying by cheque will be fine, as long as people get their money I doubt they will care how.

Hard as it is try not to let it beat you down, between us we will probably face a mountain of problems between now and when we become debt free - there's nothing that can't be solved though xx
I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.
