Thanks for your kind words yesterday guys. I just had a moment yesterday, just when I thought I was getting sorted aswell. I suppose with all the extra stress at the moment any little thing will seen 10x worse.
Anyway, I took a deep breath (well a few actually) and I decided not to go ahead with the Halifax bank account, I just darent risk it. I am hearing confliciting things about off setting so I am going into Barclays saturday morning to open a basic bank account with them. As my creditors include Co-op bank, Nat West & Lloyds, I am hoping they are not linked in any way to them. If someone can point me in the right direction to ensure that is the case that would be very much appreciated. I wanted a basic account with a debit card and Barclays offer that.
I dont have a cheque book - so I phoned everyone again yesterday, most will accept my debit card and as long as I pay them in the next few days before I send out my letters I will still have money in my current accounts. I can send cheques (thanks mum) to the others and one dd I have set up in my mums name for the next payment. Thank goodness i told my mum about my problems last week. To be honest it wasnt that much faff really when I calmed down, it just seemed worse at the time. Hopefully by the middle of next month I will have a new account to pay wages in and have dd's come out but if I dont I know I can cope with it.
Bumpy ride!!!!!! I feel like I was thrown off the rollercoaster yesterday but I lived to fight another day:idea: LBM 23-10-2009 - Total unsecured debt £39,638.65 _pale_

Morning hun!
Well done for taking action and good to see you climbed back on our rollercoaster, everything is moving in the right direction. It is good to hear that you will try a different bank, it will save a lot of worrying about it later and wondering what if this and what if that.
You will def have a new account ready for next month, it's all going to be fine.
Good that you told your mum too, I hated telling my mum but it got to desperation point one week a few months ago where I couldnt even get a loaf of bread, oh god, I shudder to think about that. But then her and my brother took me shopping and stocked us up for 2 weeks. I cried for days after that I remember, I was at such a low point and fell so alone.
ANYWAY enough of that negative talkm, PMA, PMA, PMA, PMT...oh sorry I mean PMA PMA LOL
I stayed up last night and went through all my 12 creditors letters, the notification of DMP stuff, checking and rechecking, sending token payments to keep them quiet because of the delay starting the DMP, checking and rechecking the stuff to send to CCCS............it took hours, the bulk of it I had done in the earlier days but last night I had to check carefully that everything was included to make it easier for CCCS to get on and process. So now I am ready to post. Can't believe it, I am ready to post. Which leads me to my lack of being able to decide which blooming day to post these on!I think Saturday is the delivery and collection part of the strike so I'm thinking maybe get them off today or tomorrow.
Hang in there, we will feel a whole lot better once these blips are sorted.Total Debt : £61,302.84 :eek:DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010Debt Free in 13 Years 1 month, hopefully sooner as things improve and they stop interest/charges!!Long Hauler #188 DMP Member 353Thank you so much to all posters :beer:0 -
Hi everyone :hello:
Well, a bit of a mixed week for me. I rang Kensington while I was at home and asked them about my Citi Mastercard. Its still over the limit (just) but it seems that when the payment they are getting reaches the level of the minimum payment it would seem that they are within their rights to start slapping interest on again!
Now, I have an Evans card that is getting more than the minimum payment and they have been ok - however, Citi have not defaulted me and the card is not charged off or anything, so it would seem that its going to be another £25 per month I will have to find!! Im really struggling - again - despite my DMP - with OH being on strike things are tight but Im determined not to lower my payment as I know that in a few months hopefully I will be able to start thinking about F&F's. Luckily, Xmas pressies are taken care of but I feel really bad that its no way on the scale it was last year! Feeling a bit down
Pay is due to hit account in about oooh... 15 minutesand its depressing to think its all going out more or less immediately!
Still - its not all bad. Me and OH are going to Wetherspoons for curry night tomorrow and I need to pay balance for Xmas party so its not all going on bills!
Hi Mrs Ryan,
With you there, the money goes into the account and quite literally out the same day
I'm impressed youre sorted with Christmas presents, I am dreading it and I know I need to start thinking soon, I am just so up to my eyes at the mo with getting set up with the DMP and changing accounts etc, plus other stuff that life throws at us too to deal with.
Have a lovely meal out.Total Debt : £61,302.84 :eek:DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010Debt Free in 13 Years 1 month, hopefully sooner as things improve and they stop interest/charges!!Long Hauler #188 DMP Member 353Thank you so much to all posters :beer:0 -
On the subject of basic bank accounts, I'm with Yorkshire, and they're pretty good. So don't forget to try them if need be!I'm always in the brown stuff (marmite)....only the depth varies!!! :rotfl:0

Good Morning!
We couldn't get through to CCCS on the phone so e-mailed regarding sending 1st payments via Internet banking, and got this response:
Hi Thank you for your email. You can make your first payment by internet banking. Our details are as follows: Sort code: 204846 Our account number: 70238163 Reference: xxxxx Also if you wish you can set up a direct debit to start from December. Please call our Aftercare Team on 0845 272 5400 between the hours of 8.00am & 6.00pm Monday – Friday, where an Advisor will be able to immediately set up a Direct Debit for you.
Obviously I x'd our CCCS ref there for privacy!
So the details are there if any of you guys wanna send your 1st payment via Internet Banking. I just did mine just now :j:j:j It says the payment will reach the recipients account within 2 hours. I feel so damn relieved I feel like crying! :rotfl:
My only worry now is that I haven't got the details for our new bank account yet and OH is due to get paid on the 15th  If NatWest could just get their finger out and give us those, everything would be perfect. As it is I can't change any DDs or anything until I get the new details, and I dread to think what wil happen if Nationwide take all his wages on the 15th! I will call NatWest at some point today and ask if they can provide me with the account details over the phone, to save waiting on the posties resolving their differences!
Bailey, everything will work out - you're doing everything right. hang in there! :cool:I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0 -
Hi LMS,
Thank you so much for that info, what a relief for you! I cant wait to have that feeling.
Dont worry about the new details of your new account, just ring em up today, they should be able to give it all to you on the phone, I had to do the same 2 days ago because I havent had my confirmation through in the post yet and its been 2 weeks(
Ive just had a letter today saying that my MBNA debt has been passed to yet another somebody or other,.......but the account number is wrong on it, so what is that about! Not fretting about it, just did another Notification of DMP for them and a query why my account number is wrong and will send it and also send a copy to CCCS so they know what the latest is.
Every little step eh.......Total Debt : £61,302.84 :eek:DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010Debt Free in 13 Years 1 month, hopefully sooner as things improve and they stop interest/charges!!Long Hauler #188 DMP Member 353Thank you so much to all posters :beer:0 -
Morning NorthStar, how are things with you?
It's been about two weeks since I sent my info too, so I will call up later today. Will need to try and call people to change DD details, as sending new mandates etc will take weeks at this rate with the post, and I just don't have that!
I've been watching my CCCS DMP area on their website waiting for my payment to appear, I've been clicking refresh every 2 mins. I'm obsessed!! :rotfl:
I have also managed to stay within our budget so far this month (OH gets paid on 15th - so this is half way through our month) so I am having a good debt day! :T:beer: It feels so good to be able to go food shopping without it nagging at the back of my mind I haven't paid such and such a bill. I'm still waiting on nationwide getting back to us about why they charged us almost £250 of interest last month, but I'll tackle that another day! I don't like to take on too much in a day or I get stressed!
I have fifteen minutes of peace now before I need to go and wake Sophie (my 2 year old) from her nap to go and get Abs (my 4 year old) from nursery  Then that'll be us we'll just spend some quality time until it's time to go get my oldest from school at 3pm. I don't like to deal with the debt things while the girls are around, as I get upset and grumpy and it is unfair on them. :AI'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0 -
Oh, also NS, regarding MBNA changing your account number - they did that with me also as it was passed to another department. The new department were much more understanding and less forceful, so it is maybe not a bad thing for you. I wouldn't be overly conerned by it.I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0

Thanks for that, I'm passing it on to the CCCS anyway with a little note so it's forgotten LOL (well...trying! lol)
No half term break for you this week then? My little one was 4 last week and the school is on half term break this week. My other daughter is 10, poor things, hardly been able to do anything with them as had to get all this sorted this week and sent off. I am going soon to send it all off, the decision has been made. :TNo point hanging about, at least it will be out the way. Tomorrow then will be free for my daughter's little friends to come round for a very late little birthday party, god help, me, party bags on a budget, got to go and find some soon.
I also cant cope with too much of this in 1 day. I need to hang on until after the weekend to cancel and move direct debits over because they all come out on the 1st. Dont want to take the chance of something going wrong! Soooo much to think about eh!
Oh yes, I also do the refreshing thing on the computer too :rotfl:hopeless!
And there is down time tomorrow afternoon........I was going to say 'how will I cope with that' but seeing as Im having some little ones round I doubt I would be able to sit reading posts anyway.
