what do you mean by charges upon charges? & what can I do? we have 3 overdrafts with lloyds (all included in our DMP) and have had the same response from the CCCS regarding all 3, lloyds are not accepting the DMP offer as they say the account numbers are invalid (they are correct I have checked) so I assume they will also start adding these rediculous charges on to the other 2 as well, if there is any way I can stop them I would really appreciate it
    Thanks

    Hiya,

These charges are unlawful and can be reclaimed later once the reclaiming hold is lifted.

Let them keep adding them on and reclaim them back at a later date. You can expect at least 8% interest to be added to any refund. Think of it as a high interest savings account!!!;):rotfl:

This is par for the course with LTSB. They did the same with my overdraft account and added an extra £1200 to the debt!!!:eek::eek: This doubled the amount owed to them.

I will claim it all back however and I will expect the interest to be applied also.

    Keep your chin up!!!

    Cocker:)

Just a quick question, gays and gals :D

If anyone has done any Full and Finals did you just use the template letter from National Debline? I have had a look and I know it says everything not sure I like it (why am I fussing over a letter:rotfl:!)

Just though I'd see if there are any others floating around for me to have a look at before getting it sent. Hoping to get a positive result so I can ditch one creditor not that it will make a dent in my DFD as its such a low balance but it will make me smile inside to know it's one down and 9 to go!!!!!

Keep smiling everyone, it takes less muscles to smile than frown and releases endorphins to cheer you up.

PS: It does give you smile wrinkles as the kids at work keep telling me! :rotfl:

    Hi SMC

Nah I think the standard letters are pretty much the same

    Dear Creditor

Two choices take my kind reasonable offer or shove it and have a crappy amount every month until the debt paid off. It will annoy you more than it will me. Please let me know as I have a busy life.

    Hi all

Been a couple of weeks since my last post as not much to report really....things gone fairly quiet on the good ol' creditor front, and actually miss being so popular with Mr Postman.....coming home to an empty doormat is a new experience to me!!

Just a quick question for you....I've been going for 3 months now on DMP, and I'm finding I haven't budgeted enough in for certain things like my transport to and fro from work......I'm getting by, but only just so its going to be a struggle as the cold (and expensive) winter months arrive.....I'm thinking of giving CCCS a call to reassess my I & E, but are my creditors like to kick off again? I've had 2 formally accept and 3 as good as......don't want to risk the good relations at this early stage?

Be good to hear from anyone who has done the same. Thanks a billion guys xxxx

    Hi Mrs

If you are finding it a bit tight to last through the month comfortably then I would call CCCS as soon as you can and they will go through your budget with you.

We made the mistake of over estimating our income big time and had to call to drop the monthly payments by over £100 or it would have crippled us otherwise, ok so it was only one payment made at the high rate but the creditors were ok, well contunued to whinge like normal really. :D

Don't worry about the creditors too much, there is really no point being on a DMP if it means over stretching yourself and making yourself miserable. You are allowed a life even if you do owe a bit of money. Give them a call and go through the figures with them.

  • Hi all, haven't posted in a while but have been trying to keep up with the thread!

Just wondered if anyone had used the "...I'm fed up with all your s**t - please take me to court..." template letter from National Debtline and if so what happened? I'm at the end of my tether with Egg and really feel like I can't be bothered to waste any more of my time and energy on them, so may well have to resort to this :o

BUT...on a brighter note I've just had another PPI reclaim success for around £1200 so it's not all bad news :D

Hope all are well, CM, x

Did a budget review today with CCCS. Am now grrrrrr. When I first set it up last Sept, they told me I could have £20 for school trips a month, £6 newspapers etc. Today I have been told the most I can have for school trips is £10!!! And £5 for newspapers, and it seemed that everything else I had they said nope you have to have this and it was lots less. Even told me one thing I had I could no longer, they gave me it last time! So this has nicely pushed up the amount I can pay back, however, I was just managing as I was :-( My kids both doing swimming at school once a week at a cost of £1.30 each! Then every week they bring letters home needing a £1 for this that and the other or £3.00 if its something special coming into school. I told the women this but she said tough basically. I am disillusioned with the whole thing now, because it appears to me that once you start the plan they want to cut back and bump up the payments. I would have preferred a hike of £20 a month, not over £60! Also the way she worked the income out, x it by 12 and dividing. I don't get that figure in my account every month she came up with. Was thinking of going it alone and was using the update to then jump ship. Wish I had never done an update with them and jumped ship and done it myself. I can't now for 6 months go back and say I earn less etc. Am feeling slightly miffed to be honest. I want to pay all back I owe but at an affordable rate. I didn't have this problem when I first joined ??? Why are figures your allowed for clothes etc going down?? Also, never realised if you had big things to pay out for like car repairs etc you are supposed to inform them and they tell you creditors you can only make smaller payments that month etc. Sorry for the moan but I think in their eyes from what was said DMP's are to run no more than 10 years my new payments bring me under that. To be honest the women I had must have had PMT as I didnt find her as pleasant as people I have dealt with in the past. x
    Hi AMW

Sorry to hear that you're having a tough time after your review. Sounds really strange that they are reducing the amount of money you're allowed for each section, clothes, kids pocket money etc.
When I set my budget with CCCS (only started Apr 09) they CCCS guy up'd alot of what I thought my expenditure for each would be as he said I need to be realistic and can't leave myself short.....I hope he didn't do this so that in 6 months time they can tell me that I can only have half what I'm allowed now.!!:eek:
Have you posted on the CCCs thread maybe you just got 'Miss Grumpy Drawers':p when you called so perhaps a different CCCS person may make you feel a little more positive.
Well done for getting through your DMP to this stage:T, keep smiling and please either post on the CCCS board or call again to spk to another representitive to restore your faith in CCCS.

Take care and let us know how you get on!

    MD xx

    oh Rach

am with you hun - have felt so low today about debts! its a week till payday & i have a £5 in my purse.

got home after a hour long car journey & recieved 3 lovely default letters - DEMANDING i call them! er maybe not - i would probably get off the phone & take some pills washed down with vodka!!!

i'm finding m&s money are the worst i have wrote to them with token payment (not a £1 either - £50!) called them 2 weeks ago to tell them my cccs number & have now sent them a 2nd token payment (£40) as cccs are reworking my dmp!

    what else can i do??

i know its gonna be a long haul & probably get worse before it gets better - but debtsville (copyright Eupho!!!!) is a c**p place to be!!!

    sas

    :rotfl::wave:

But yep.. I know what you mean Sas..
I have really struggled this week.. I could really feel myself sinking backwards.
.. You are right..it IS a c**p place to be.
But we HAVE to do.. there is no way back now.. anyway.. back to what? .. back to our heads in the sand pretending this isnt happening?.. We haaaave to go through all these things, or we will never get out of here. (i hate it too, it freaks me out)

For all of us... pulling our heads out of the sand is the best best best thing we have done. It's just going to take a fair bit of adjusting to.. and each month learning better and better how to budget.. save.. and/or make money.

Some of mine are only going to get £1 per month (for a while at least).. thats all I can do for now. .. and I'm trying to see it as like it or lump it.. or.. take me to court and get a judge decide what I can pay instead. (hopefully they would agree with me :rotfl:).. considering even Payplan couldnt take me on because they worked out I had £29 surplus.. :o:o .. I tweaked it to make it £60 ... and actually have a fall back figure of £137 surplus. (because I dont do a lot the stuff Payplan etc allows for) .. But.. anyway.. I want to see how it goes at the £60 (12 creditors don't forget) _pale_ sooo.. as you can see, they are not getting a lot at all. But, that's tough for now, I am going to pay.. and they are only going to get my offers, whether they say they are too low or not. If they dont like it.. they can take it further, thats fine by me. (at the moment anyway haha!) .. I am expecting a a few sources of money (owed to me) over the next few months.. not alot.. but enough to pay a few of the smaller ones off.

If CCCS has worked out pro rata what you can afford to pay each creditor.. Those that dont like it are just throwing their toys out of the pram.. let them.. Don't worry about it.. Just keep making your monthly payment, and I'm sure they get the idea in the end. Dont take a single word of the default stuff and all that other 'wording' to heart. Let it go in one ear (eye?) and out the other.. if its a concern to you.. call CCCS and run it by them.

Remember.. you are not the first.. or the last to go through this.. (by a LONG way) .. It will settle down eventually.
In the meantime.. have you thought of clearing out your cupboards and selling every scrap of stuff you dont need on Ebay? ..

Every day.. I say I am going to do that.
Still haven't got around to it yet..:rotfl:
