    Hi guys (new and not so new! :D)

    Just popped on after typing my very last letter to a creditor for a ppi reclaim, I won't let them win, I won't let them win....:rolleyes: I'm hoping as soon as they see who it is they cough up straight away. I hope I'm well known on the staff room notice board for being a bit arsey :D

    Wanted to say chin up to you guys, it's really crap some days isn't it? I have only been on a DMP for a year and have about another 140 odd payments to make to CCCS before we are free and I wonder whether I will ever get into the habit of saving. I just can't save :o I'm crap at it, I want to join the challenges of save a penny a week and all that but I know I'll spend it. I might be deluded but I still check out the prices of holidays on Thomas Cook now and again, just in case by some miracle 40k is wiped out overnight and we are debt free! :o:o:o I suppose thats my way of dealing with the debt, I still have little dreams of what I want to do when I am finally free from it all.

    A DMP brings so many emotions out of you, one minute you are happy starting out on your long 'getting debt free' journey, next; angry ready to fight any cheeky DCA who dares to knock on your door, then you are a wreck worrying over debts and stay awake some nights thinking how debt has ruined your life and how a few coins and bits of paper can make you feel so damn depressed. But the one thing that keeps me going with it all is this thread and you guys. (CHEESE!! :rotfl:) Honestly I think you are all great and Devon girl - you definitely HAVE done the right thing, you wouldn't have met us lot otherwise!:rotfl:

    Keep going with it guys, every quid counts now whereas before it didn't. I know you are not supposed to dwell on the past but we think about it alot how much in the brown stuff we were but we are doing something we should have done a good few years ago. We have definitely learnt a lesson and it just goes to show that you never really needed all the credit in the first place anyway. We are much happier now.

    Hi SMC

    Nah I think the standard letters are pretty much the same

    Dear Creditor

    Two choices take my kind reasonable offer or shove it and have a crappy amount every month until the debt paid off. It will annoy you more than it will me. Please let me know as I have a busy life.

    love from

    * add your name

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I won't say go on I dare ya, but I would love to send that to our creditors. :D
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    love it!
    I'm always tempted to send letters like that too.

    Imagine if you worked in their office and got one like that.. I would laugh sooooooo much! (I'd probably accept!) :rotfl:;)

    Hi all, haven't posted in a while but have been trying to keep up with the thread!

    Just wondered if anyone had used the "...I'm fed up with all your s**t - please take me to court..." template letter from National Debtline and if so what happened? I'm at the end of my tether with Egg and really feel like I can't be bothered to waste any more of my time and energy on them, so may well have to resort to this :o

    BUT...on a brighter note I've just had another PPI reclaim success for around £1200 so it's not all bad news :D

    Hope all are well, CM, x

    I am sooooooo tempted to do that with Hitachi Capital.. (DFS Sofa) .. They write me such nasty stuff.. :rolleyes: threat threat threat.. :rolleyes:
    Even after their first threatening letter.. (it made me so mad! haha).. I was dyyyying to write.. Go on then!! put your money where your mouth is!..
    :rotfl:
    But I have to say.. I reeeeeally AM tempted to do it. I was thinking of saying something like.. 'Look.. no matter HOW much you threatened me.. I cannot pay you more.. now.. or for the foreseeable future. So It might be better if you just move this to the next stage by passing me to a DCA.. or court.. whichever. But I have nothing more to give you'

    aand Helloo CM!!! :wave: WOOHOOO on the PPI! :T:T

    Morning all :wave:

    I am (as some of you may recall from earlier posts) in the early stage of a self-managed DMP. I am an avid follower of this forum but probably don't post as often as I should :embarasse. Anyway thought I would just say that although I am at times finding this really tough - especially making my wages last a month with no credit to fall back on (this budgetting properly business isn't easy and is going to take a while to master!) I am glad that I have taken this step. There was just no way that I could have carried on as I was before - I tried to for about two years and all that did was increase my debt by a substantial amount.

    I am still receiving loads of telephone calls every day which for the most part I do not answer - mainly because between work and being at home with my partner (who does not know about my DMP) there are not many calls that I am in a position to answer. Barclaycard seem to be the worst at the moment; with HSBC a close second. I guess in time they will give up and pass me to a DCA which from what I have read on here is probably the best thing.....

    To end on a more cheerful note; some of my creditors have accepted my offers :D. Now all I need to do is convince the rest!

    Hey Eupho :hello:

    Just to say I think of you (or at least a faceless blurry image I have of you as I don't know what you look like!.... :rotfl::rotfl:) everytime I see one of those annoyingly happy DFS adverts. They seem to constantly have a sale on and those adverts of couples snuggling up on their overpriced sofas really annoy me when I think about how nasty they can get when you get into financial problems. All this rubbish about 'pay nothing for a year and then 0% finance'.... they're just asking people to take on debt that they can't afford :mad: Sorry, really not good for my blood pressure to get upset about someone else's problems but am seeing these adverts in a whole new light.... Don't even get me started on those Halifax adverts where they make a people pyramid to give their customers a fiver.... :mad:

    Anyway rant over!!! Hope everyone's having a happy, sunny day - well it's sunny in Devon anyway! :beer:

    Helloo hellooo! :T:D

    I am waiting for the postie to arrive.. I have a the week off this week, which thankfully has allowed me to throw myself fully into tweaking all of my DMP/Budgeting paperwork (and reading and reading and reading here)

    But!.. my 'holiday' has been slightly marred by the fact that virtually all I have done is think or do.. something regarding my DMP. (or budget). ALL day! (I need a life!) :rolleyes::rotfl:

    I have still not had one creditor actually 'accept' .. I have two default notices though.. Lucky me! :T;):rolleyes: I dont mind those tho.. I knew I was going to get them.. (and plenty more no doubt) .. The faster I get them (hopefully) the less interest and charges I will pay .. and more chance of getting a DCA to accept my lower payments.. (I HOPE!).. oh.. and one flat OUT (continual) refusal, stinking Hitachi Capital. Their very first reply to me was like something I would have expected from a nasty Baliff after 2yrs of them trying to track me down :eek::rotfl::rolleyes:
    They are not very 'customer friendly'

    Oh I tell you what I was thinking last night.. I wonder if the 5yr leather cover warranty thing I took for the sofa is null and void now. :rolleyes: dammit. haha.

    I bet as 'karma' .. I end up with a Rrrrripppppppp the size of Japan in the middle of my sofa now.. :rolleyes:;)

    Anyhooo.. I forgot the point I was going to make.. :rotfl:

    hahaha! :rotfl:

    I think something similar every time I see those ads too..
    I sit there like.. 'Yah yah yah Shaaddup.. :rolleyes:'..

    What they forget to mention is.. 'If you default on your agreement with us.. We will be sending in the dogs and the big guys. Who will tear you limb from limb.. and leave you destitute.. rags on your back.. and gruel in you bowl'

    (Actually.. I think it says that in the little writing at the bottom of the screen.. have a look next time its on... see if you can spot it).. :rotfl:

    hi everyone
    hope everyone is doing ok today-its been a bit rough here this week as i have had flu and another kidney infection,but thankfully on the mend now!.Eupho:rotfl:at the knock on the door scenario,that would have me not answering the door-i'm such a wuss!.Toffeepenny,i still look at holidays too-well,you have to dream dont you!.
    Havent sent off my dmp notification/token payments as yet due to the flu,doing that today.Finally got my coop cashminder details so been on the phone giving the new details to everyone that needs them,and cancelling the direct debits of those who dont:p.Now comes the anxious wait to see if my wages and child benefit go into the new account,fingers crossed.Am going to transfer any money from my old account today and sort out some things for ebay(yes,i say i'm going to this every weekend-must do it).Also sort out my house insurance as have found some thats £50 a month cheaper:eek:-i'm so getting ripped off at the mo.
    take care all,and thanks so much for the support and stories on this thread,it all helps calm my fears at taking this plunge into the unknown.
