  • Can't bear to get rid of my boy's old clothes and toys just yet.  :-[ Would like to have another baby one day, so am keeping all his stuff 'just in case'.
Good idea an' all that, but when I kept my baby clothes for my next child, when I got them back down from the loft, I thought they looked dated and were definately put up there for sentimental reasons rather than further use as I refused to put my next offspring in them. ;D

I bought neutral pyjamas and vests for my eldest for as long as I could so I could pass them down to her younger brother

  • Hi everyone -

You lot have inspired me.... finally got hubby and son (aged 18 ) to do a monster clear out of clothes - result was 5 bags for Oxfam!! And there is still stuff untouched!! (I am good you see, I clear out as I go along so I don't have all this crap to deal with).

I was merciless and ruthless with them, some stuff hadn't seen the light of day for years. In fact, we found some jeans of hubby's that he got too fat for and he was keeping till he lost the weight - now he has lost it he didn't want to part with them, he tried them on and they are SOOOOOOOOOOOO out of date!! What a laugh (for me not him!)

They are still sulking though, like I have stolen their lollipops, but at least I can now get in their wardrobes to hang up the stuff I have just ironed.

Yesterday morning - I waved bye to husband and 2 kids as they went to visit relatives in the midlands overnight.

And i've been sorting stuff out since - with the odd exception of posting on here ::) :-[

I've now got 8 black bin liners of clothes for the recycling bin.
    - and i haven't touched hubbys clothes -- yet
    :o

also a stack of outgrown toys to go up the attic till summer when i intend to do a car boot.

The hallway has ONE coat per family member :o

Just paperwork and photos to get to next ::)

I've now got more stuff thanks to Christmas. It's lovely that people have been so generous, but I've got enough already! It'll take me the best part of the year to get through all the smellies and read the books that I've been given!

Another car boot sale this summer, I feel! :D

I am always complaining to my daughter about the amount of shower gel and bath foam i buy - that she only uses but i went upstairs into her bedroom this morning, i have asked her for days to put something away in her makeup drawer - opened the drawer to put the thing away only to find loads of toiletries, including bath foam, shower gels and the like sitting there since way before christmas.... So heres me the fool buying stuff as fast as i can and shes not using her stash thats taking room up in her drawers..... She can see me coming i think!!

If I have to de-clutter or do housework (I swore then :p )then I set a timer for 20 mins do my bit and then go off and do something else that is fun.

Yes you don't get it done in one go. But do 20mins everyday and the job is done.

You don't get stressed and bored while doing it.
