I am now 20 weeks had my scan yesterday. It is truly amazing what they can see. We haven't found out what sex it is although I was pretty tempted! So halfway through now. Which is a bit scary!
Can feel bump jr moving around now feels like somersaulting at the moment - slightly uncomfortable but it is so exciting feeling the baby move (it probably will wear out after a couple of weeks and I'll be wishing they would stop - he he:rotfl:)
OH can't quite feel it at the mo but I imagine it won't be long.
I am going to start a new thread about finding cost effective way to buy things and where to start looking because I really feel I ought to start buying things gradually now. (Thought I would do it separately so that it doesn't get in the way of the general nature of this thread).
Labour vibes to all who need them.

I've been having a wobble today about breast feeding. Had a bad dream about that fat B**** who banged my boob and DS2's head together in an attempt to get him to latch on... Now I'm wondering if I'm going to freeze up when the lil lady is here! Kinda hit me all the bad stuff about having a baby today, I have been focusing solely on the positives all pregnancy (it was a bad start) and now I've realised that I can't just get up and go buy sweets without packing up baby and all her stuff. At asda I'll have to... oh crap, I'm not getting a carryable car seat so what will I do with a newborn at asda? What if she is sick on the sofa? I'm going to have to clean it! And they wriggle when getting bums changed, DS2 grew out of that after I smacked his butt a few times... And I'm going to bleed for weeks after I have her too!
I liked it better when I was blissfully ignorant of anything except cute dresses, tights, hats and those little hair bands :rotfl:0 -
If I wasn't already working at home, and didn't have the toddler at home, I probably would be bored silly. But trust me - potty training a rowdy 2yo keeps me MORE than occupied!!!! LOL
Potty training is not fun! We popped into town yesterday to look for a present for daddy and got nowhere! I got to the front of the queue in the post office twice before getting the tug on my trousers and 'mummy, i need a wee wee NOW' by the time i had been back and forth to the toilets 4 times, i was too tired to look in any shops and we came home empty handed! Oh well, could have been worse, at least it was 'I need a wee' and not 'I did a wee' lolz :rotfl:

Karen - in order to make sure that you get all your entitlements and to do everything by the book you must get your MATB1 to your employer by the end of your 25th week of pregnancy. You can have it from 20 weeks.
I am doign everything by the book so that my work don't turn around and try and say 'oh but you didn't get your letter to us on time!'
Glam-I am in a good position where I work closely with HR so they won't mind if its a bit late! They know where I am if they don't get it!! And I am too scared of the woman in charge not to :rotfl:Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

Thought the newbies amongst us might find this useful. Sami posted it a few threads back - it shows your fundal height (the top of your uterus). You can feel the top of you uterus yourself, it's like a ridge (if that makes sense!)
I wanted to check it out again so thought I would shareA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -

Lucky you! I am very cynical when it comes to my employer so want to make sure I do everything as I should!
beenie - I like the silly ticker! Mine says 'Keep it down out there, I can hear you'
Tia - I had not heard of these things you speak of - sick, nappies, wriggling, shopping in ASDA. Babies are just cute bundles of joy that sleep right through the night, coo at me and OH when we play with him and smell gorgeous 100% of the time. Not sure where you're getting your information from but I'm sticking with my versionA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I'm sure you will slip right back into it when the little lady arrives, it will be like falling off a bike!! Hmmm, you just reminded me that its not all about cute dresses, tights and hairbands aswell :rotfl:I shall have to start tying my arm behind my back in preparation for doing everything one handed again!

Oh Karen, I'll keep a watch for that thread as I'm interested in cost effective ways to buy stuff too (just 21 weeks) and not bought anything yet. Been offered lots of things but not actually got anything yet.
Our scan was amazinf too, I had it at 19 weeks and i've noticed a definate increase in the general shuffling about of baby in the last couple of weeks and just in the last few days the shuffles have been quite pronounced. I reckon when my OH comes back from London he'll be able to feel the movements too, which will make him even more gooey than he is!

Hi
After people's advice. The hospital I need to go to when the big day comes is about 1hr's drive away and having recently moved to the area I dont have 'good' friends close by to help me should I need them. OH holds down a job that takes him to London and away on business a lot and I don't think we can expect his employer to allow him to work from the office (which is closer to home) for say, 2 weeks before and after due date in order to allow him to be around.
What are the options at getting to hospital if I'm stuck on my own? Family live 95 miles away! I know I;m only 21 weeks but I'm starting to wonder about this stuff.....
Thanks
Lisa0
