I think it depends how physically demanding your jobs is. If you are on your feet all day, or out and about, I think it must be much harder than an office job. I sit on my bottom most of the day (on here a lot!!!!) so I am trying to stay til the end (or at least I have told them I will stop when I am 39 weeks).

I remember that Sami (I think) posted a few months back about the cheapest place to source Raspberry Leaf Tea - does anyone still have a linky? I haven't really go the time to do the research myself. Thanks

Lolz, how lazy am I, I worked from home sat on my bum for only 4 hrs a day!! I couldnt hack it though, my back was killing from sitting still so long, my legs were restless, my bump was stopping me getting as close to my lappie as i needed to be so my eyes were strained, I was basically a big moaning lump!!

I'm self-employed and I stopped doing my work and went on MA at 29wks. It really wasn't a big issue, obviously, as working from home anyway, but I think if you're ready for ML, then you're ready. No point feeling bad about going as soon as possible, if that's what works best for you and your family.

I'm going on ML at 29wks as soon as I'm allowed to. I only work 4 hours a day 3-7 sometimes later but my job usually involves some counter work and carrying sometimes large parcels which I'm obv. barred from at the moment so for a few hours of each shift it's so boring and it drags. It feels like I'm waiting all day to go in work then when I come I'm shattered and I'm not seeing anything much of my little girl who gets passed from pillar to post from my mums then to her step-dad then to me just in time for her to go to bed.

My job involves being mithered at and shouted over by about 30 different people telling me to hurry-up and do their papers as they want to get home. All it takes is for me to feel a bit below par and it can really get to you.

People at work keep saying "why are you going so early it's stupid as you will have less time with the baby afterwards?" but at the moment my little girl needs time with her mum before her little brother arrives and demands attention! She is in the process of being referred by the school with special needs and they want her to be tested for ASD so she can get funding for extra help. I think the arrival of the baby will most likely affect her more than it perhaps would have done without these problems.

I will cross the bridge of leaving little one to go back to work when I come to it, it feels like I'm doing the right thing.

My job involves getting ranted at by narky people all evening aswell so I can well see why you would want to get out sooner rather than later!! Its very wearing being yelled at all night for stuff that is not even your fault

I'm lucky cos my hubby takes over the kids when he gets in from work and then I go so it wont matter too much that I will need to go back a bit earlier as bubs will be with daddy anyway and I still have all day with her :D.

    just a wee question.....
all u girlies on maternity leave, what do you do to fill your day?

Im 33 weeks, have an 18month old, but get sooooo bored during the day. I always end up doing a bit of a clean up, washed, dressed and heading to my mums house. I cant keep myself in the house.
At the minute, im notyet dressed as the weather outside is disgusting, but am planning to pry myself away from laptop in 10 minutes to get me and DD washed and dressed.....but then i have nothing. i have no washing etc to do as i do that stuff when DD goes to bed at night.

I haven't applied for MA yet as we wanted to leave it so we got most of it after the baby is born (I'm self-employed so can choose to do it like this I think).

Does anyone knwo how long it takes to process? Should I get the form off now? I'm nearly 35 weeks.

I want to find some sort of hobby when I go on ML! Maybe teach myself to knit (have always wanted to learn) or something else Old-Style crafty...something useful and MSE anyway! ;) Also have some language software that I want to do as another hobby...thinking Japanese just for a real challenge!

(I get bored really easily too, carla, so this is why I've been making plans of how to keep myself occupied during ML)

eta: I can't drive nor have any family/friends close by, which is why I need to find stuff to entertain myself...obviously you other ladies are probably luckier than I!!

I go on the internet, meet friends for lunch, wander down town, do some housework, sleep, read a book, do gardening, chase financial stuff (I do the finances), and just chill out a lot really.

I'm very good at doing nothing though!

I know this has probably been done, many times - but how far on were you all when you told people?

I'm 14+4 and have only told one friend so far.

    Bennie
I am 14+1 and i myself have only told a couple of close friends, one right after i done the test as she phoned and wanted to know what was up and i just needed to talk. However my close family know and my oh family but other friends and family dont know and i ve been wondring when to say anything. My Boss knows but thats only because my job involes sometimes taking xrays and moving boxes etc. So felt i had to tell him and he's been so good but has asked as we work so close to the hosptial that could i pop back in after giving birth to help out . I was just wondering the same thing as when to tell everyone else, as my boss say's i am not gonna be able to hide it much longer as i was quite small before i got pregnant size 6-8 and had everyone telling me i was too slim. Which is fine but really got to me as i was trying to put on weight and just could not and got fed up with people saying you must eat more when i ate loads, even crap food and could not put on weight. So now i am size 12 people have noticed but are not saying anything :o
Darling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j
