has to be once a week for me too0

I'm one of the fortnightly brigade. Unless, the cat gets in to the bedroom and sleeps on top of the duvet cover ... then I de-hair it and wash it (allergic to his hair
).
I never iron duvet covers or sheets, but have to iron pillowcases.
I don't like to use the t/dryer to dry bedlinen (in fact, I avoid the t/dryer as much as possible). I prefer the line, as it dries it all the softer and with less creases.
In Winter if I have so much washing that I'm running out of space, I t'dry the bedding for 10 mins and then hang it up ... this way it doesn't seem to have any creases either
Single duvets get washed every 6mths or so, or if dd drops milk on it
Synthetic kingsize duvets get washed on a regular basis also.
However, in the past two years I've been buying feather duvets for us (got 3) and I rotate them ... this Summer I will be sending them to the dry cleaners to be cleaned, as I noticed that in August they have 20% off cleaning!GC - March 2024 -0 -
I am once a week too but if I win lottery then I will pay someone to do it every day as I just adore clean sheets. I like them ironed too !Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Never done more than once a month...... if I'm honest, probably longer!2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
Every other Sunday for me but sometimes sooner than that in Summer.
I would do them every week because I love the feel & smell of clean bedding but am trying to save on electric, water & powder etc.
I wouldn't have even thought of ironing bedding...I don't even iron my clothes!

It's every Sunday for me. I have 3 sets of bedding so I can rotate. I only iron the pillowcases though as we have fitted bottom sheets and I can't be bothered to iron the duvet cover. Nothing feels better than slipping between clean sheets after a bath on a Sunday night. Must be a throw back to childhood when we did the same. Bath and clean sheets ready for school on a Monday. The duvets go to the laundrette six monthly but they do get an airing on the washing line when the weather permits. I love the smell of clean sheets it makes everything seem fresh.:j0

I knew one oldish lady (a neighbour) who lived alone, and used to rotate her bedding in the following way (using a double bed):
Week 1: Sleep on left hand side of bed all week
Week 2: Swap over and sleep on right hand side of bed all week (as this bit is still clean
Week 3: Change bottom sheet, turn duvet over (so the bit of duvet cover next to you skin is now 'clean' again), swap pillows over so the pillowcases slept on are now underneath, pillowcases not directly slept on are now on top, sleep on left hand side of bed all week
Week 4: Swap over and sleep on right hand side of bed all week
End of week 4: take all bedding off and wash and dry, then start cycle again.
This used to amuse me no end, but she always stuck to the same 4-week cycle! She was pretty good at saving money in other ways too.0 -
