angelatgraceland wrote:My aunt told me that when she was in the WAF they were told to wash just one sheet each week. No fitted sheets, so the top sheet became the bottom sheet on week 2 while the bottom sheet got washed. 2 sheets total, the cleanest on the top and the other on the bottom, constantly rotated. Ive done this in winter but cant any more as Ive got fitted bottom sheets. I go 2 weeks.
I'd forgotten - my mum used to do this & she was in the WAAFs. I hadn't realised that's where she got it from.0 -
If your married etc whats the point in ironing bed sheets if they are going to get creased when you get in anyway
I do my sheets every two weeks and the kids every sunday. I have 3 sets of kids duvet sets to wash, i wish i had a bigger washing machine with a bigger tub, i will next time, that way i could wash them all in the one wash. With the duvets i buy new ones every 6 months because i find new ones are cheaper then getting the old ones washed

Bedding gets washed every friday. Our quilt covers and pillow cases are ironed and just DD's cases as she has a bedspread over the top IYKWIM.

I change our bedding every Friday and they get washed with other "whites" at 50 degrees. I wait until I have those plus other "white" for a full load, which is once a week.
They either dry on the airer and airing cupboard. Havn't used the dryer since finding this site.
They do get ironed but I like doing ironing anyway, so I don't find it hard work.0 -

I wash bedding when the laundry basket is empty!!!!!!
Basically, we wash every night (on economy7), so when there are no clothes to wash, it's time for the towels and bedding. Works out about every 2 weeks.I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
I wash ours every 7-10 days(sometimes more often in the summer).Dont use 2 sheets, just a fitted one on the bottom and duvet on top."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

Once a week, but reading these messages , might try fortnightly.
Do them at 'gentle refresh' cold water.
If anyone is worried about mites or anything else....wash 'em ,then put them in the FREEZER.
Never iron.In fact a hospital cleaner once told me they are not allowed to iron surgery aprons.0 -

Every 2 weeks. I was and iron as I think they feel better. I try to rotate the bedding so we don't have the same covers on every time too.
My friend send her duvet to the laundrette with the quilt cover still on for a wash and dry. I thought that was a brill idea.
I was the single duvet a few times a year in my washing machine. The kingsize one goes to the laundrette.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
