do what is best for you, I think though it is not a matter of being clean people the bed gets full of skin which causes dust mites.

Not sure that really answers your question

Hmmm i tend to go by a couple of factors :) SMELL :) if they smell fresh (of conditioner and the lavender I keep in the airing cupboard) then I think they're probably ok :) Also if I know that we have had a couple of warm nights where due to the temperature we have sweated more than usual then I'll change them each week. Otherwise i change them every 2 weeks (we usually have a bath in the evening before bed and a shower in the morning to wake up :)). I also use matress and pillow protectors that are alledgedly supposed to be hyper allergenic thingy doofers and I intend to start on using baking soda I think it was on the matress at least once a month (and then hoover it off) to reduce odours (not that I have noticed any but hey :))

Everybody has dust mites and there's dead skin everywhere, it's the skid marks you have to watch out for. 1a_y_sad.gif

I think anything is acceptable as long as you're happy with it. I wash ours every 8 days normally. I started doing this instead of every 7 days as a way of cutting down on water washing powder & electricity use as an environmental thing. I'm happy with that although I think I might feel the need to wash them more often in the summer just because fresh cool sheets feel so lovely when it's hot.

I need to do ours once a week because I need a routine or I'll forget about it. I dont iron bedding if I can help it. The bottom (fitted sheet) I put on the bed as soon as it comes out of the wm in the morning. top sheet on the line or a radiator dries within an hour and the duvet cover also on the line or a radiator only takes two hours. If you give them a good shake and fold them as soon as they come out of the wm there is no need to iron.

ironing bedsheets? Nope... I'm confused ;) Actually I don't do ironing full stop I think it could be against my religion ;) OH irons his own shirts and everything else is folded before it's put away and nothing usually needs ironing :) I take bedding sheets form the bottom of the folded pile (so they have been "pressed by the ones on top" and it gives me a fairly good rotation of bedding so we don't use the same one every time :)
