washing bedding - how often?

I change the bottom sheet and pillowcases once week and put them on a 60 degree hot wash. I then hoover the bed
to get rid of any dust and freshen up the pillows by a quick blast in the tumble dryer.
In spring clean mode I tip a tub of bicarb on the mattress, first thing....then hoover off later that day....
But I just turn the duvet over - it'll last another week.
On getting up in the morning, I turn the duvet right down to let the mattress breathe and air, and I open the windows wide for as long as it takes me to shower. I was taught that you should never make your bed straightaway without airing it.
I do this every morning too.Not just a sucker for sweeties..:o0 -

Every week-10 days for the children.
Once the kids hit puberty and you hit middle age, prepare for that calculation to be entirely the other way round....:rotfl:Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -

They could still do with ironing, but its better than nothing.0 -
I try but often fail to do mine fortnightly because I have a king size bed(which I hate and want to get a standard double) plus 4 older kids and a toddler...I'm also expecting in less than 7 weeks so find it pretty hard work which means they get done around every 3 weeks unless something gets spilled/nappy leaks/etcDebts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

They get washed when the mood takes me, when it's a fine sunny or breezy day outdoors and I decide the sheets have been on the bed long enough. I refuse to be a martyr to timetables, sheets, dust and cobwebs. You reach a point in your life when "life's too short" and other things are more important. Nobody will ever write on your tombstone "She washed her sheets religiously every week". They certainly won't write it on mine, anyway. :rotfl:0

I have to be really really pushed before I'll switch on our (18 year old) tumbler.
When I do I run down to watch the meter whizzing round....till I can't see through the tearsNot just a sucker for sweeties..:o0 -
every 10 days as we all bathe/shower daily. Except my son, his get changed once a week as he has to be nagged to wash daily. We all have double beds/king size all well. Wish I'd thought of the washing before deciding that!
Brought stupid egyption cotton which needs ironing.:eek:But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more0
